IN THE CAGE
110. DISTRACTION

...NORMAL pov...

...----------------...

The plan is, when Evan leaves the house with his flagship bodyguard-Theo, Joseph will infiltrate through the balcony into Evan's room. Regarding Fawn-Fawn will distract Aidan who is in charge of guarding Evan's room outside. Fawn and Joseph had already negotiated this plan last night, rather, it was designed by Fawn and Joseph who would execute the final result.

Following the plan, this morning, after seeing Evan's car leave the Caspian family's main residence, Fawn quickly contacted Joseph to meet. They need to re-discuss what needs to be done, make sure that Joseph is ready and not forget a single point.

"There was only one servant standing guard in Mr. Evan's room. After she's out preparing breakfast for Miss Indira, you and I can start." Fawn said casually, a smile playing on her lips, as if she was not planning something forbidden there.

Joseph-on the other side of the table-eat his toast very seriously. Unlike Fawn who looks like a teenage girl who tells about her first love, Joseph is like attending a death penalty hearing.

"I'll be on standby in my position" Joseph replied, still very tense.

"Can't you smile a little?"

"I can't act like you and Miss Indira" Joseph said. He really can't.

Because of Joseph's inability to act, when Indira asked him to infiltrate Evan Caspian's workspace a few months ago, Joseph broke his own leg to show bodyguard Evan that he was in real pain from falling down the stairs, not from any suspicious activity. Indira asked him for a minor injury.

"You really suck" Fawn complained. "Are you sure you're ready to do this?"

"I'm so ready."

"I don't think you want to die."

"The payment offered by Mr. Angga is quite impressive, I can't refuse." Joseph chuckled for the first time.

"Money makes you more relaxed, apparently. I'm touched." Fawn rolled her eyes.

Not long after that, a woman Fawn remembered had free access to and from Evan's room, across the cafeteria where she and Joseph were negotiating. The woman was carrying a trolley full of dirty clothes.

"Joseph," murmured Fawn warning his companion with a wink. "Now."

Without giving a long response to Fawn, Joseph stood up and left her. He did not take a hasty step, but neither did he show a relaxed attitude. Joseph kept his composure well until he retraced out of the cafeteria. Stepping on the blind spot of the cctv he had learned, Joseph then arrived at the place he had prepared to climb the balcony of Evan Caspian's room.

Fawn, who still lives in the cafeteria, sips chocolate milk in her glass while smiling kindly at the female employees who serve there. Fawn's in a hurry, actually. But he won't show panic. Fawn got up from her seat while chewing the remaining bread on the table.

After leaving the cafeteria, Fawn immediately contacted Joseph via his mobile phone.

A signal to start the operation has been declared.

Fawn who served as a distraction directly climbed the stairs to the second floor. To Evan Caspian's room in the corner.

Fawn sauntered calmly, the face showing no seriousness. In fact, when he found Aidan in the corner of the corridor, he stood with a serious look. Fawn pointed a grin at the man.

"Hey, Aidan..." Fawn greeted kindly.

"Fawn, what are you doing here?" Aidan was obviously not friendly at all.

"What's wrong with me coming here?" Fawn turned his intonation into a complaint. "My master was in this room, you know."

"Yes, and Evan's boss has ordered you not to approach this room."

"But I'm the bodyguard, and Mr. Evan is not here either. Look..., not to violate Mr. Evan's ban, but..., are you not curious about Miss Indira's condition?" Fawn tried to negotiate.

"Look, if you let me just peek a little, I won't leak anything. I'm just curious, I'm worried about my master, Aidan. You said I didn't have a job the other day, right? Well, this is the reason why I don't have a job. Your boss is holding my master hostage."

"Do you realize who your opponent is talking to now?" Aidan widens his eyes. He is Aidan, one of Evan Caspian's confidants. He has been in this house for a long time. It was impossible for a face of compassion and hospitality to be able to break his loyalty.

"Tsk, aren't you human?"

"I'm a bodyguard here."

"Hey.., even though you're a bodyguard, you can't turn a blind eye to your boss. He made a mistake by locking up Miss Indira. What if Miss Indira is in there? Miss Indira is afraid of the darkness.., you know!"

"The last time I heard that shit, Miss Indira cheated the whole mansion and slipped Joseph into Mr. Evan's study."

"E-uh?" Fawn gulped. He should not bring up the topic of fearing the darkness anymore.

"Now, Fawn. I suggest you come back. I'll close my eyes to your intervention. But if you keep interfering, I'll report your actions to Evan's boss."

Fawn did not give up. "Aidan. Give me 10 seconds. I just want to make sure Miss Indira is okay."

"There is no reason for Miss Indira to be in such a bad state. Boss Evan is looking after him himself. Also, don't you feel like your question is so presumptuous? Boss Evan is Miss Indira's husband. There was no reason for him to act evil to his own wife."

"You said it but..."

The sound of falling iron was heard from inside the room. It echoed so loud that it drew Aidan's eyes.

Goddamnit! Fawn clenched her hands.

"Something must have happened to Miss Indira." Fawn changed his strategy, he needed to create a commotion so that Aidan would focus more on stopping it instead of worrying about the sound coming from within.

"Nothing happened" Aidan said with emphasis. "You better get going now!"

"How can I go? Are you deaf? Miss Indira must have heard me, she must have asked me for help!"

"Don't talk nonsense!"

"Let me in!" Fawn tried to reach the doorknob.

"You can't come in!" intercept Aidan, this time giving strength inside his tank. He pushed Fawn away with great difficulty.

Well, either way his opponent is Fawn. He was already satisfied being slammed by the woman while sparing.

"Fawn! Just stop! Do you want to get fired!" aidan's voice was rising.

"What's the problem? My master is Miss Indira, I can't leave her alone in there!"

"Fawn!!!"

Just then, when the bullet casings lodged in his temple, Fawn who tried to break down the door instantly froze.

"Don't make me go any further than this." said Aidan.

"Alright, alright!" Fawn raised her hand instantly. "I'm giving up."

"Listen to my words and never argue with me again!" Aidan did not stop.

"Okay..., can you put your gun down now?" Fawn closed her eyes. His heart was beating incredibly fast.

"You're not the bodyguard in this house, Fawn!!!" the gun in Aidan's hand didn't just come down. Aidan used the weapon then protruded Fawn's forehead, once, twice. Hard enough until Fawn's head was pushed and yes, it hurt a bit.

"When I speak well, you should listen to me! Don't act stupid anymore, do you understand? I'm your boss here!"

"Are you going to kill me or lecture me?" Fawn shivered, not because she held back the fear of the pistol being thrust at her temple, but because she endured the overwhelming vexation.

If not for Fawn still thinking about her job as Indira's bodyguard, she also needed to think about Joseph inside there and Fawn probably.

Against Aidan, whether there was a weapon or not, was not a difficult thing in Fawn's eyes.

"Did I offend you?" Aidan lowered his gun to Fawn's chin. "Do you still feel superior in front of me?"

"Omong is empty." Fawn snorted. Let alone feeling superior, feeling care for Aidan alone Fawn never.

"You'd better be grateful you're Miss Indira's favorite bodyguard, if it wasn't for that, you'd be dead."

"Heeh, is that it?" Fawn was forced to look up with Aidan's weapon pressing on her chin. He saw the man's face quite close to his.Seeing him meticulously, eyes full of intimidation and provocation.

"I heard you were the head bodyguard of Indira before, not surprisingly. Just like your master, you're only qualified in your looks."

"What is a compliment?" Fawn grinned like a demon.

Aidan widened his eyes, hatred rising in his chest when instead of getting scared there, he found Fawn grinning at his threat. The girl did not care about her own life at all.

"You're really not afraid of anything, huh?"

Fawn looked at Aidan with a raised forehead. "I'm afraid of a lot of things, actually. But here, I don't feel like there's anything I need to fear."

"Then I'll teach you fear." Just as Aidan was about to swing his gun to hit Fawn in the head, a voice stopped him.

"Mr Aidan, what's going on here?" a servant appeared there. Carry food trolley.

Aidan's hand swings stopped a fraction of a cent from Fawn's face. He glanced at the waiter.

Aidan snorted and lowered his weapon, "It's nothing." said Aidan then pushed Fawn's shoulder violently.

Fawn took a long breath. He looked at the door of Indira's room in the hope that Joseph would get out of there. In order for whatever happens, Joseph has found the answer Anggara is looking for, namely news and conditions Indira.

"I'll let you off this time." asserted Aidan, still do not know yourself.

Who let go of who? Fawn complained in his head.
