IN THE CAGE
6. CIRCUSES

...Fawn POV's...

.......

.......

.......

.......

On the open balcony floor, bathed in the warm morning light giving me energy, I stood with my lips clenched. Freedom is before my eyes. Just jump over this balcony and gallop towards the gate that was about 300 meters ahead there, I will find my freedom.

But...

"I hope you didn't make a rash decision, Fawn." Felix advised.

The butler, even though I was free to roam, still followed my every move. Two of Ace's bodyguards, one of which I remember named Carcel, stood in the front yard of the balcony, eyes staring at us blatantly.

"Fuck, I'm not gonna jump!" I shouted at Carcel with overflowing emotions. The bodyguards standing in every corner of the house instantly turned their heads towards me. I clicked in annoyance and went back inside Ace's room.

"What if this bracelet breaks? Are you gonna shoot my family?" I asked right when Ace came out of the bathroom. The smell of soap came out sharply from his body, I took a few steps back after feeling so close to him.

"The bracelet won't break" he replied as he stepped towards the closet.

"What if it breaks?"

I'm very worried. Three people who are very important to me, the mother I love very much, Vita-friends whom I consider brother and Joseph. Joseph was my fellow bodyguard at Rashid's house. He's a kind-hearted man. We may not be as close as family, but if he dies because of me, I won't be able to live with the guilt that builds up.

"If it's broken, it just means you broke it. The alarm will sound and bang!" Ace made a joke at the end of his speech making me want to punch a hole in the guy's head with a bullet.

"You crazy psychopath, you can't play around with other people's lives, damn it. They have people who love them! Just because you're not loved doesn't mean everyone is in the same position as you!"

I was back in irritation. I want to hit him, slam him on the floor and kill him. I can definitely do all that, especially now. When he had no bodyguard nearby other than the old Felix.

I could have killed Ace by now if only...,

If only my family's life wasn't in his hands.

Ah, savage!

"Love is a weakness, Fawn. Look where that love took you." Ace took out a navy blue suit from the closet and threw it at me. Like I was a clothes hanger. He put on a white shirt before taking his suit off my head.

"I beg you.." I swallowed my emotions and looked at the savage with patience already in the crown.

"Give my family some time.., at least, make sure that I did escape or that the bracelet was just broken. Please..."

I'm like a beggar here. If Ace had asked me to lick his heels, I might have accepted his request. My mother's life means so much to me. I'm not gonna give Ace a chance to hurt my mom.

"Five minutes" said Ace.

"I'll just give you five minutes. If after five minutes you disappear without a trace, everyone will find death. But, if before those five minutes you come back to me or your bracelet just breaks. I'll take back my orders."

Aaaaaah, finally.

My breath is relieved. Even if it's only five minutes, that's enough.

"Now" he turned to look at me. "Be a good boy at home and don't trouble anyone, okay?"

I didn't respond to him at all. It didn't matter even when he patted my head like he was patting his pet. Maybe I was like that in her eyes? A circus animal that pleases his eyes. Screeched!

Look, I'll figure out a way to get you bored and kill me!

...----...

There's not much I can do even though it's not handcuffed at the foot of the bed. I still can't get out of Ace's room. Still caged like a bird in a cage. I tried to fill my career by walking around in that spacious room. Looking around for something that entertains me like a book or the internet, maybe.

Unfortunately, when I turned on Ace's computer, the computer was not connected to the internet. The books in Ace's closet are also a line of books on business and politics. A bunch of books that have not been read alone has made me sleepy amazingly.

I found nothing to comfort me. I went back to bed, lying down while thinking about the situation that was going on in the Rashid family.

I'm curious about Miss Indira. What will he do after marriage? Will he stay at the Rashid residence or follow Mr Evan moving to the Caspian family's main residence?

Is Miss Indira wondering about my whereabouts? I'm curious.

Since Miss Indira is a kind girl and loves us very much her assistants, Mr. Anggara decided to carry out the diversion mission without the knowledge of Miss Indira. Mr. Anggara does not want Miss Indira to feel guilty and not focus on her marriage. I who have accompanied Miss Indira for the past three years understand the anxiety of Mr. Anggara.

I know that Miss Indira will definitely not be willing to lose her people. She's a good girl. I'm glad she's married to Mr. Evan. At least-Ace the bastard had no more chances to approach him.

The door to the room is open. Ace enters with Felix who brings a treat.

I got up and sat cross-legged on the bed, eyes looking at the two bastards with a faint sigh.

"Have you touched my things?" Ace asked. He looked at me with his eyebrows raised next door.

Sheeess.

If only I didn't know he was a psychopath, I would probably see him as a handsome man by now. Especially when she posed with a curious expression that was a bit charming. Unfortunately no! Nothing if only, Fawn. That guy is a psychopath! He's not handsome at all. He's disgusting, monster!

"I'm bored." I said blatantly.

"I brought you some food" Felix handed me a tray of food on the nightstand. I glanced at the food with excitement. It's actually wrong to throw food away, but I was so upset that I flipped the tray over to the floor.

Klankkk!

The sound of iron trays, bowls and spoons greeting the floor filled the room. Felix gasped and Ace stopped doing whatever he was doing on his desk. I crossed my legs and leaned against the head of the bed.

"I'm bored" I complained again.

Ace threw a cold gaze towards Felix. "Clean it. If he doesn't want to eat, don't give him food."

"I'm here," as I am. "I'm bored."

I've been thinking about this. If I can't touch or physically injure Ace, then I'll mentally disturb that man to the stage he's tired of me. I'm gonna make him feel so sick and want to kill me. That's the best solution right now because nothing irritates you more than a chatty figure.

"I have a lot of work now, I don't have time to play with you" Ace said, making me frown. I don't want to play with you motherfucker either!

"I want to watch TV."

One thing that irked me, how could the richest businessman in the north, the mobster who runs an illegal business on the black market - could he not have a television in his own room??? Cheap motels have one television!

My request made Ace a little astonished. I didn't know what was wrong but he furrowed his brows and looked at Felix with an undefined awkwardness.

"Do we have a television in this house?" Ace voiced his confusion and my jaw spontaneously fell agape.

"What?" I'm the one who broke it. "You don't have a TV in this house?"

"We have a television in the living room, sir." Felix said while lip-sucking. It seemed like the old bastard was holding back his smile. Yeah, look at that. Your primitive boss must be very funny to you, right?

"You can't go out" Ace looked back at me, his countenance flat. "Do what you can do in this room."

"There's nothing I can do in this room, damn it!" I almost screamed so bad. "You don't even have a single game on your computer!"

At least, every computer must have a built-in game, right? Whether it's Zuma, mahjong or chess. But Ace's computer is empty. There are only hundreds of encrypted work files. The man didn't even collect any p*rno videos at all.

"Then just relax." He answered me like my boredom wasn't his fault, it wasn't his business. Male bastards! Argh, I want to kill him!

I took a pillow and threw it. But-thanks to this space that was as large as a football field, the pillow did not reach it at all.

"I hate you!" I shouted, this time it was so loud that Felix widened his eyes full of vexation.

"Fawn!" reprimand Felix.

"Let him like that" Ace grinned, interrupting Felix who was about to scold me. He looked at me with a whimper of the devil that made me even more so. "This room has become more alive thanks to him."

"I'm sorry, sir." Felix apologized as if he was in charge of training me. No, was he not placed here to train me like a circus monkey?

Ace did not respond to Felix. He just sauntered towards the pillow I threw and picked up the pillow. He patted the pillowcase before throwing it at me.

"I'll buy you a toy later" said Ace, the grin blooming on his face. He approached and gave me a pinch on my cheek.

Damn, were it not for the harsh warning Ace made about not being able to hurt him, I would probably have slammed Ace onto the floor when he touched me.

"Don't sleep before I go home" he ordered.

I threw away my face.

What else does he want? Goddamn it, I made sure I'd go to bed earlier today.
