...NORMAL pov...
...----------------...
The wind that blew that morning became colder than before. Vera creeped under Anggara's gaze like her spirit had just been forcefully uprooted by the man. What Anggara said just now, what Anggara meant led Vera to a conclusion. A very terrible conclusion and at the same time surprising.
Vera gulped like a knife in the esophagus.
"Sir Angga..., what are you saying?" Vera pushed the man one step away from before her. But, the cold traces of Anggara fingers stuck to his skin did not disappear-heat left there, burning all over his body.
"Don't pretend to be stupid, I know you understand what I'm saying. Or do you want me to explain it in more detail?" Contrary to Vera's deathly pale-shows satisfaction at Vera's reaction which in her eyes looks funny.
"Anyway, it's nice to talk to you when you're not too late."
"Mr Angga., I.e.," Vera clenched her hands so tightly that her fingers turned white. He hates the arrogance Anggara shows in front of his face now, but Vera knows he can't act rashly.
Assuming-in any case, was the man who was his boss' friend and colleague. He can end up without a head when he talks.
"What happened that night, I don't remember at all that it was Mr. Anggara." Vera forced herself to remain calm. He looked at Anggara with agitated eyes. "I'm sorry, it was a mistake. I'm really sorry."
"Don't feel guilty, you're comforting me more than enough."
Damn it, Vera wants to bang her own head against the wall! Anggara speech will sound sensual and charming if only the person is not Anggara. Not his boss partner, not the man who was able to kill him.
"Once again, I'm sorry." Vera bent in. The only hope he has right now is to pray in his heart for Anggara to forget his folly and leave. That'sthat's all.
"So, are you better now?"
"Y-yes?"
"Your condition..." Anggara looked at Vera from the tip of the foot to the tip of the head. "We've been doing it all night, so I'm worried about you."
"Lord Angga," Vera rebuked Anggara with stifled annoyance. Vera was trying to be polite here, but why would the man provoke his emotions by bringing up something they shouldn't talk about anymore?! At least, Vera did not want to bring up the topic anymore. That..it was a mistake!
"I hope Mr. Angga doesn't bring up this topic again. For the sake of mutual comfort, as well.remembering the situation happened because I was heavily drunk and ahahaha..," Vera was at a loss for words. Anggara should have understood what he meant, right? For God's sake!!!
"I feel comfortable with that topic" Anggara said. Purposefully. Emotion fishing.
"But I don't!" Vera's lured.
Goddamnit!
"I-I'm sorry." Vera hurriedly corrected her intonation. "I mean, Mr. Angga. It was just a one night stand. That doesn't mean anything."
"If that doesn't mean anything, you should be comfortable with the topic, right?"
Damn, damn, damn!!!
"Mr Angga..."
"Veras?" Like an angel falling from the sky, Vera felt saved for the first time when she heard David's voice. The man who was his superior emerged from the topmost staircase, eyes glaring down - towards Vera and Anggara with confusion.
"Good morning, Mr. Anggara. Is there anything I can help you with?" David threw a serious look at Anggara.
"none. I just..chat with Vera." Anggara deliberately chanted the name Vera with seductive intonation. Vera immediately closed her eyes, frustrated by the situation Anggara had created for her. David must be astonished and suspicious!!!
"Oh..."David remained calm. "I'm sorry I interrupted, I came to check on Mr. Anggara. Mr. Evan is waiting for you outside."
"Hn, okay." Anggara rolled his eyes as Evan's name reached his ears. Evan is the definition of an atmosphere destroyer.
"I'll be back, '" Anggara told David and turned to Vera. "Veras."
David and Vera nodded politely in response.
Only after Anggara disappeared at the turn of the stairs did David relax his shoulders. He let out a heavy sigh before glancing at Vera.
"What happened between you?"
"Yes?"
"You and Mr. Angga, you speak long enough."
"You're spying on me?"
"Not really. The wind here is strong enough for me to hear what you guys are talking about." David responded calmly and without feeling guilty.
"Vera, I'm Miss Margot's head bodyguard. You must understand my position, right? I'm asking you-monitoring you not to want to know about your personal life, I'm just doing my job."
"Just relax, what you saw just now won't put Miss Margot in any danger. I won't let that either."
David was a little relieved. "I'm sorry. You know, after Fabian, I don't want to lose any more of my comrades. That includes you, too, Ver. I hope you're not close to Mr. Anggara, especially now that the Hunter family is in a cold war with the Rashid and Caspian families."
"Just calm down, Dave. I know myself and know my position here."
In the eyes of Vera, as a bodyguard, he had no place or even the chance to be on the side of those amazing people.
Anggara too, what had happened between him and Anggara, Vera believed it was the last time.
...----------------...
Thirty minutes later, in a long, boring and falsified discussion-Ace decides to end his conversation with Evan and Anggara. He also glanced at Margot full of warnings for her sister to stop spewing nonsense from her mouth.
"Gentleman, sorry to ruin your exciting moment, but I have to work now" Ace said. It forced a smile.
"Ah, right too. I seem to be deceived." Margot smiled a wry smile.
"Mmm, we should talk like this again next time..." Evan laughed kindly. He stood up and pulled the blue coat he was wearing. Ace who was already standing first, shook the hands of Evan and Anggara alternately as a formality and farewell.
Anggara doesn't talk much. He just smiled thinly. Until his eyes caught the figure of Vera who sauntered with David, then a pair of eyes bored him to life.
Anggara glanced at Vera once in a while, while the girl scratched her nape uncomfortable at Anggara's pretty obvious sight.
As they all stood leaving the table, Margot approached Anggara and gave the man a farewell hug. Vera watched from the side in quite amazement. Margot's boss is really brave.
"See you again." Said Margot, hands still hanging on Anggara's neck. "Don't forget your promise, okay?"
"I'll pick you up, take it easy."
"Was planning a date?" Evan.
"Awww, this is just a meeting of two friends." Margot.
"You look compatible, you know." Evan. "It would be a waste if you were just friends. Right, Ace?"
Vera agreed in her heart.
"I don't know." Ace never agreed on the two-man relationship. Aside from not liking Anggara, Ace knows that Margot is only acting fake and endangering her safety.
"Still turning a blind eye to romance, Ace? Too bad. You should also look for a future wife. You're 27 years old."
Ace grunts. "Is that why you're married? Because you're 27?"
Evan just shut up spontaneously. He poked his lower lip, holding back the irritation from exploding in front of the youngest Hunter.
"See you later, then." Ace resigned. Carcel immediately followed his back followed by four other bodyguards. While Carcel was missing, David stepped forward and replaced Carcel's duties as the leader of the remaining bodyguards.
David-alongside Vera, saunters behind Margot who has just parted ways with Anggara. They sauntered quietly until finally Margot's steps staggered. Vera catches the boss' arm and returns Margot to her original position.
"Boss Margot, are you okay?" Vera and David panicked.
"Vera, help me..."
"Yes, Margot's boss. What can I do?"
"Take me to church." - Margot. "I. I need to purify my spirit after touching those bastards."
"OH, BOSS MARGOT!!!" Vera exclaimed in annoyance. Damn, he thinks that woman is sick. It was just his brain.
"Don't yell at me, motherfucker!!"
"I'm sorry," Vera sighed loudly. "Boss Margot shouldn't scare me that way."
"Are you worried?" Margot laughs.
Is that questionable again?
Goddamnit!
