Chapter 39: The Statement of Mr. Luise

The arrival of Lady Irish and Mr. Luise inside. It could be seen, Maria and Bennet lowered their heads. Either disinclined or because they are embarrassed to face them.

Mr. Luise immediately sat down near Josh, as did Mrs Irish who was embracing Evelyn to sit down.

"Sit, Maria!" resolute Master Luise while the woman was still standing.

Let's sit down near the husband. Either his fate this time was unlucky or because his arrival plan was already known to Master Luise. To be sure, Maria did not expect that the great master could come to her son's house.

"Either you have shame and pride or you don't come to my son's house. To be sure, if your arrival only wants to make a scene, then you will have to come face to face with me!" firmly Mr. Luise.

"So, why did you come here? Is it just to incriminate Evelyn? Is it because of money? Or do you have a little empathy to see the kid you sold me yourself? Answer?" fret Mr. Luise with various questions.

Bennet looks to be breathing. His hands were holding on to the hands of his wife. He dared to raise his head and looked at Mr. Luise who was in front of him. "Sorry, Sir. We came here just because we wanted to tell Evelyn our situation. Especially I'm sick, and I want to see Evelyn for a minute" Bennet said.

"Your life is too messed up, isn't it, Bennet? Torturing a child, making him into a money-making machine, intoxicated and gambling. Look, now that you're a patient, don't you feel like there's something wrong with your life?"

Bannet and Maria were surprised to hear Mr. Luise's words slightly offending them. The disgruntled Maria immediately asked, "what do you mean Master Luise? Are you accusing us of being parents who use their children?"

Master Luise clucked and looked to grin. "You think I don't know who you are and who Evelyn is? I even know where you hired Evelyn from the age of 5 until you gave her to me as a tool to pay off your debts."

Master Luise slightly delayed the next remark to see their reaction. "I even know where you first found Evelyn" he continued.

Both men were surprised. So did Evelyn and Josh who widened their eyes. Evelyn was about to get up, but her hand was quickly restrained by the Irish Mistress.

"Ma–what do you mean, sir? What do you think if Evelyn's not our son? Holy hooch! What kind of thought is that?!" Bennet immediately frowned and gave a stern look. "If you think we're not Evelyn's biological parents, then give the child back to us again!" continued.

"Please bring Evelyn. If you don't want to deal with my people, so will the law!" press Master Luise with crossed hands on the chest.

"We know all about you, Bennet! It's not by chance that I met you and dared to lend my money to someone like you!" keep up Mr. Luise.

The two were further confused by Master Luise's remark. Moreover, Evelyn and Josh who are both confused by this situation.

"What does Daddy mean? Is Evelyn really not their real child? What did you mean by Daddy's words?" josh asked who was very curious.

"Swimming Josh. Daddy knows what to do right now. They should indeed be taught a lesson," replied Master Luise.

"Mark gave them the file. Let them see for themselves the evidence we gathered!" lord Luise's orders later.

Mark immediately thrust two thick envelopes at Maria and Bennet. It is predictable, if there are many files in it.

One by one they read and see. Along with each sheet they read, the beads of both eyes are more rounded. Frustrated with all the contents inside, Maria and Bennet immediately stopped their activities.

"What the fuck is this Mr Luise?! Have you been stalking us all this time? Not polite!" sergeant Bennet with a hunting breath.

While the stern-faced man only chuckled and grinned at the look on the faces of the two people before him. "Hows it? Do you like the surprise I gave you? You should thank me for living with my money. Especially you, Bennet! You shouldn't have changed my money with Evelyn! Because he's not your son!" firmly Mr. Luise.

"Daddy?" Josh and Evelyn spontaneously shouted at the same time.

"What do you mean?" evelyn asked and was taken in by Josh who was getting curious.

Master Luise sighed. He prepared to immediately tell all the truth about Evelyn, which had been covered by both her parents, as well as by Mr. Luise and Mrs Irish.

"Look this all right. Evelyn, you're not their real son. You're just a 5-year-old boy who went missing in a major incident at the time. Power struggles between mafia."

"And Josh, you saw for yourself how that little boy named Alessia was lost in the crowd. Until one day, found a 5-year-old child was lifeless with his face that could not be recognized clearly anymore. We and the Pallas family trusted the police, and received the child, and buried him properly. It took my best friend, Jourell and his wife a beating, so they chose to leave the country. Of course you know this story, don't you, Josh?"

Josh nodded, confirming what his father was saying. Because that's what traumatized her a little bit. He lost his little friend Alessia and from then on, he promised never to love a woman again. His love for Alessia was small too great, although the distance between the two was quite far.

"Yes. After the departure of Jourell and Emily. Me and Irish never kept quiet to keep searching for the truth about Alessia, because we didn't believe it when the little boy's body was found. Until we decided to dig back the grave of the boy and do a DNA test with the hair of Jourell and Emily that Irish got on a visit to their new residence. After that, a truth was revealed. The child was not a lost Alessia, but an ordinary child who lived not far from where the body was found. Until we found a husband and wife who are the biological parents of the child. And what surprised me even more was that Alessia was in their hands." Master Luise again paused on his words. "You should know, if the child's parents are Maria and Bennet. Evelyn is the real Alessia" he added.

A story that is complicated enough to digest. But, that's the truth. Evelyn is indeed a lost child and gets evil foster parents. He did not know anything about his childhood, because he had fallen and suffered a mild concussion until some of his memory was lost. And now, Evelyn ends up here, after years of suffering life with her foster parents.

Hearing Mr. Luise's statement. Josh and Evelyn were shocked. Evelyn's body went limp and she fell onto the sofa. "How could this happen?" he muttered as he continued to digest what he had just heard.

"Dad. Is Daddy not kidding? Why does everything sound so complicated. Didn't Daddy tell me that Alessia was dead?" ask Josh with a frown.

"It sounds absurd. But, that's the truth, Josh!"

"Then, why would Daddy even let Evelyn live to suffer with parents like them?! Why don't you guys take Evelyn back to her parents?!"

"We're looking for evidence. They accidentally kidnap Alessia or accidentally find her! But the truth is, Bennet and Maria didn't kidnap Alessia. They simply do not accept the loss of the child and regard Alessia as their child. Until one day they realize that Evelyn is not his biological child and begin to blame fate. From there, all of Bennet and Maria's treatment changed, both of whom often treated Alessia harshly! And Daddy, has his own way of bringing Evelyn into this house!" said Mr. Luise.

"Daddy was afraid that yesterday's accident would cause Daddy to lose his memory of Alessia, but thankfully Daddy still remembers all that and today is the right day to say it" he said.

"It's complicated" muttered Nina who was beside Eric, until the man pinched her slightly to avoid speaking.

Mr. Luise turned to face Maria and Bennet. "You were released when I returned Alessia to me. But, since you dare to set foot here again, then I will not let you go. Especially you, Maria! You've infiltrated Evelyn's nursery on Sarah's orders, and nearly killed my daughter-in-law. Then, you have to account for all of that!"
