Dollar Girl

Dollar Girl
Chapter 71 The Holiday Moment

The news of Jimy and Rere's relationship had already spread to Ardi and Amus' ears as well, as friends they could only support without saying anything more.

Meanwhile, Amus still feels at home even though there are actually some girls who try to approach him, in the slightest he does not give them a chance even though he knows there is no chance for him to have Ratna.

Ardi himself is still struggling with his mind between going forward and expressing his feelings or giving up because he feels he has cheated.

And Ratna is too dizzy to think of Ardi who will either declare love or not, while her heart still hopes for Amus even though she knows it will never happen.

The three people's relationship is still as childhood friends who support each other, still help each other in difficult times and spend time together if there is time.

Until the class exam arrives, they are busy with studying in order to be able to take classes with satisfactory grades.

Jimy has improved since he dated Rere again, now Rere's more understanding nature makes him excited to learn from Rere's support as well.

Meanwhile, Amus and Ardi remain in the rankings of those who have never dropped to the top five, but Ratna still struggled as usual. He had to ask Ardi for help to teach him even though they were different majors.

After the exam was completed and the rapids had been distributed Ratna was quite satisfied to see her good grades despite only entering the top ten it actually got the tenth rank.

"Ratna come!" sapardi shouted from outside.

"Yes father." replied Ratna rushing out of the room.

"Look at what I have for you" she said, handing him a plastic bag.

Ratna received it and saw a box box in it, when she took it out it was apparently a new phone.

"Dad..this."." said Ratna who could not finish the sentence.

"This is a gift for you, congratulations! now that you've moved up to third grade and soon you can realize your ideals" Sapardi said.

"Father..thank you." said Ratna while hugging haru.

"May I try now?"

"Of course!" answer Sapardi.

Ratna immediately turned on the phone, first saving the contacts of her friends and then running out of the house to show it to Amus and the others.

But when he went to the house of Amus saw his grandmother and Amus were neat, he curiously asked.

"You want to go?"

"Mm, this time I'm going to go to my mom's house again"

"Oh yeah, uh look! dad gave me a new phone" he said, showing the phone.

"Well you're lucky, then now we can send a message" said Amus.

"How long have you been there?"

"Maybe about a week"

"Alright, don't forget to bring souvenirs yes. I want a special snack there"

"Basic greed! your thoughts of food hold" hardik Amus.

"Holiday this time I also work in the store, if I had for sure I would also choose a vacation like you. Have pity on this less fortunate friend of yours"

"Alright, " said Amus giving up.

* * *

"From tomorrow I can't I can come back to the store" Jimy said as he dined with Rere.

"Why?"

"My vacation time should be spent helping out with my parents' work at the restaurant"

"Oh yeah, that means you're gonna be busy"

"We can still send each other messages or calls, if there is an occasional time we meet"

"Mm alright" replied Rere.

That day they spend time together until the afternoon, enjoying the moments together they still have the opportunity to meet.

After driving Rere home he rushed to the restaurant to help his parents, the day was closed quickly because there was something they wanted to discuss with their youngest son.

"Now that you're officially third grade, you don't have much time before you get busy with the exam and so on for that mom wants us to plan everything in advance to run smoothly" his mother started a four-eye conversation.

"You know this restaurant is going to fall into your hands, the more days we get older and tired of managing the restaurant. For that even though you already know how to take care of the restaurant but you still have to go to college properly so that this restaurant not only continues to stand but also develops" said his father added.

"Jimy, even so we don't want to burden you if you want to take this restaurant but if you don't make your own plans from the beginning so you don't regret let alone go the wrong way"

"If... I don't want to continue my father and mother's business what will you do to the restaurant?"

"We can sell it to someone else, we have enough savings for your old age and your college expenses" her mother replied.

Jimy thought hard, there was actually a time when he was bored with restaurants and wanted to try something else. But the restaurant was the single brightest future he had, considering he wasn't as smart as Angga.

"Dad, for now I will stay in school and go on to college but in the meantime I will try to work part-time in other fields. Can... dad and mom give me a little time until I graduate college? because after that I will completely hang my life on the restaurant" he decided.

Both of Jimy's parents smiled satisfied at his answer, they quite understood that indeed Jimy also needed other experiences.

"Well let's go home and I'll make you some special fried rice" Jimy said.

"Ah.. You really like to cook" said his mother.

They laugh together and go home happy, filling their child's vacation by spending time together which has been quite difficult to do.

Meanwhile at Ardi's residence his mother was busy cleaning the house, there were many items that he would throw away because it was no longer used.

"Mother.this is already night, stop and continue tomorrow" said Ardi.

"Jeez, it's been searched everywhere it turns out to be here" cried his mother.

"What?" ask Ardi curiously.

His mother showed him a medium-sized wooden box that looked old and dusty, and his mother cleaned it from the dust and opened it.

Ardi can see a variety of objects in it, ranging from a scrapbook to some photos and toys of small children in the form of wooden horse statues.

"You remember this? you whine about robot toys when you see Jimy showing off a robot toy he just bought, your dad doesn't have enough money to buy it so instead he lets you bust this horse" he said.

Ardi vaguely remembered the memory, indeed at that time he cried and only stopped when his father gave the horse statue. He loved the statue so much that he always played it, wherever he would take the statue to sleep even once.

"Ah... look at these photos, your father insists on taking pictures of you who are still a baby. He said you'd grow up to be a handsome guy like him and smart like mom, never thought his words had come true" said his mother again holding a photo of a naked baby.

"There are so many memories stored in this box, memories of your childhood and your father" he continued.

"Save the box again, someday when I have success I will bring the future daughter-in-law mother and mother can show it to the future daughter-in-law mother"

"Hahaha you just got into third grade and already talked about son-in-law, do you want to get married?" seductive mother.

"I just don't want mom alone, during this vacation I'll be working on uncle Hamdani again. Would you be okay if I stayed?"

"Of course, you don't have to worry" he replied.

"Alright, just remember now we get everything done and go to sleep, you have to quickly rest to be healthy" he said.

Ardi started collecting items that were not needed, then he would put them in one place and he threw them away.

* * *

Amus arrived a few hours later, he used the free time to rest but what happened after night was that he could not sleep. Together with Yati and her father they enjoy the moment of togetherness with after coffee and sweet toast.

"Um.m mom.I want to talk about my future" Amus began.

"Have you planned your future?" ask Yati.

"Yes, now I'm in third grade. I didn't have much time until I faced the national exam, after which I decided to continue with college"

"That's great, apparently you've been thinking carefully"

"The problem is grandma, after taking third grade for one semester is not a problem but if it has entered the second semester... "

"Dad understand, then what do you think?"

"After graduation I will continue my studies here, the four of us will stay one roof without having to separate again. Therefore if grandma wants after I get into second semester should grandma stay here alone"

"That's better, but the thing is, is Grandma going to leave her house?" ask Yati.

They were silent, since the first grandmother never wanted to leave her house. Until now he felt at home even though he had to live alone, of course as a child Yati put a lot of worry but he also could not oppose the will of the grandmother.

Even so Amus tried to talk about this with grandma, not in the hope that this time grandma would obey. He said his age was decreasing, in the last moments of his life he wanted to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

One week passes quickly, if spent with people we love then indeed time feels quickly passed. Amus is still happy to be there, enjoying his fun days with his family.

It was time for them to go home, but before that as usual Yati took Amus to the shopping center to look for souvenirs for their neighbors there.

It reminded Amus of Ratna's request to buy food, he was quite confused whether what food he should buy. For a few minutes he could only daydream in front of the gift shop without being able to decide.

"How about a coconut root cake?" yati asked as if she could read his thoughts.

"You're looking for souvenirs for your friends right?"

"Th-that's it.. "

"You can buy coconut root cakes or cork eggs, that's a typical meal here. It tastes good especially if you eat a lot"

"That's it. okay I just buy this" said Amus decided.

"Now I just buy souvenirs for Ratna, what should I buy?" muttered Yati while thinking.

Seeing her mother so seriously hurt her heart, she knew she loved Ratna very much and probably wished they had more than just friends. But what if her mother saw that Ratna was more comfortable with Ardi, would her heart not hurt after all the good she did?.

"No need" said Amus.

"What?"

"Mother doesn't need to buy anything for Ratna, this food alone is enough"

"But mom wants to give her something else, she's a girl where she can be with another"

"But mom, what if what you expected never happened?" ask Amus slowly.

Yati was a little confused by the question, but then she understood what Akus really meant.

"Why indeed?" ask Yati back.

Amus raised his head and looked at his mother's peaceful face with a sweet smile there.

"Mother loves Ratna sincerely from the heart, if the mother gives with hope in return then it is the same as giving debt. In this world there is no mother who owes anything to her child, be it property or abundant affection" said Yati.

"Well, even though sometimes you still wish you could get her heart and make her a mother-in-law"

"Mother.... "

Hahahaha

"Mom was just kidding!" abugn.

Amus was relieved because his mother's feelings were sincere, so he would not be burdened even though he did not manage to get Ratna's heart. He had promised to support Ardi fully, so that the gift he bought he would give as a childhood friend.
