Chapter 58 Broken Hearts

"Love isn't about who she gets fast, but if you're late then you miss the opportunity. I should have said it a long time ago, now regret is no use. It feels so annoying, like you have wings but you can't fly. Now I have to go back to my realistic sanity, go back to walking as if I were just a shadow. Suddenly everything he's ever been through swirled over his head, starting from a happy childhood. Then a fate that he never expected, locked in a state where silence was the only way he could do. No matter how severe the pain is, no matter how deep the inner talk, can only smile to cover the wound.

Then the unimaginable happens, staying by the only reason to survive is the beginning of the release of shackles. Back in the days of happiness even with a disability, better than living like an outcast.

Money, being the most important thing to him right now. For the sake of a bright future, for the sake of changing fate to something better. He didn't want to be a doctor, a teacher, or anything of great rank. Enough to have a job that can finance his life and make his father happy, for that he is a damper for human love.

When all the children his age began to open up to that feeling, he felt he was very foreign. The various things that had happened to him and the decision to make peace with his heart, unexpectedly now he questioned a sentence that was quite simple.

'Can I express my love? enjoy that feeling without fear of ruining anything.'

She is an ordinary girl like everyone else, having someone she likes. Wanted to be with her and go through happy days with her.

"I'm very grateful, because you've been willing to state it directly" Ratna said.

"But I have to apologize, there's someone I really like"

"What... Do you have a boyfriend?" tanyakanya.

"Not yet" Ratna replied as she shook her head.

"I haven't expressed my feelings, we're still good friends at the moment"

"That's it, I understand. Then take this" he said as he offered the chocolate bar.

"But." said Ratna hesitated.

"Use this to express your feelings, you'd better hurry if you don't have someone ahead of you."

Ratna was still hesitant, not to take the chocolate but was afraid that it would be rejected.

"Never doubt! whatever happens, you better tell me. It's better than you keep quiet and restrained by that feeling, if in the end you are rejected does not mean the world will end, right? whatever the answer will be stated" he said as if knowing the heart of Ratna.

"I understand! I'll try" replied Ratna excitedly.

"May it work!"

"Thank you!" answer Ratna.

He will not hesitate, never. Today too he would express that feeling, impatiently after school before going to the store he ran to Amus school. The distance is not too far away so he is sure he will be able to find Amus before Amus comes home.

Sweat poured out of his forehead, with a broken breath he finally arrived. One hand clasped a bar of chocolate, his heart pounding incoherently with eyes that glanced there and there looking for a figure he really liked.

For a long time he searched until he finally found Amus who came out of the school gate using his motorbike, he was about to shout to call Amus but suddenly the motorbike he was driving stopped in front of a girl.

As the girl gives Amus a bottle of drink, Amus drinks it while the girl says something Ratna cannot hear because of their distance.

The unexpected thing then happened, the girl got on the Amus motorbike and by holding her waist they just left.

Without the chocolate that Ratna was holding falling just like that, she could not believe what she had just seen, but that was the reality. Apparently someone had approached Amus first, now he had to go back in his old days. Forgetting the love whose story will not be as sweet as he could have hoped, maybe in his life he should only focus on money and food.

His lethargic feet moved to take him to the tavern, working as usual until the night even without the smile that was usually present.

Even that night the wind was quite cold like his frozen heart, he wondered while looking at the dark sky. How can you think that everything will go as expected? from the beginning, none of his hopes were fulfilled.

Whole family, graduation and love that never arrived. Even from the beginning it never happened, he always had a big head with hope that came suddenly.

"Be aware Ratna, reality is like this" he muttered as he patted his own cheek.

He again walked down the sidewalk, until he arrived in front of the alley he accidentally met with Ardi.

"Where are you going?" ask Ratna.

"Amus' house, you just got home from work" Ardi replied.

Ratna nodded slowly, hearing Amus' name she recalled the incident earlier this afternoon and realized that the chocolate was still stored.

"Ah I have something for you" Ratna said.

"What?" ask Ardi curiously.

Ratna took out a bar of chocolate and handed it to Ardi, although he liked to eat but when his heart was in turmoil because sweet chocolate love did not arouse his taste, so it would be a pity if it was let go.

"For me?" ask Ardi wonder.

Ratna nodded, waiting for Ardi to take the chocolate from her.

"Tumben once, in what order?"

"Should there be something special to give? I just want to give this to you that's all" replied Ratna.

Although still astonished but Ardi took the chocolate was certainly happy, especially he kept the taste that has been known by some people.

They walked back and separated right in front of Ratna's house, still staring at the departure of Ratna who entered her house Ardi opened the chocolate pack and ate it.

"You've come" Amus said as Ardi walked into his house.

"Who did you get chocolate from?" ask Jimy who was there too.

"From Ratna!" replied Ardi cheerfully while Amus suddenly glum to hear it.

"What order did he give you chocolate? isn't valentine's day over?" ask Jimy for wonder.

"Let's go, he just gave it away"

"I'm so sorry, I asked too!"

"Eit can't! he gave it to me only!" reject Ardi.

"Hey don't be stingy! you have to share it" cried Jimy.

"Just don't want to!" reply Ardi did not want to lose.

After Ardi and Jimy, Amus should sleep because tomorrow he has to leave in the morning, but what he saw made him unsettled. He recalled that when Ardi held Ratna's hand and they laughed together, it made him suspicious. Now Ratna gives a special chocolate to Ardi is certainly not the usual thing Ratna does, as soon as a girl gives chocolate it means the girl likes it.

He hesitates to continue his intention of approaching Ratna, with what happens it is possible that Ratna and Ardi have feelings for each other. If that is true then he has no reason to go forward, as before he also succumbed to Jaya.

Ratna was aghast and immediately pulled over to hear the sound of a motor horn behind her, shortly Amus riding his motorcycle ahead and stopped right in front of his house.

Amus got off the bike and was about to nag Ratna as usual, but what he saw had silenced his mouth. Ratna looked at him with a cold gaze, her face was flat with no expression not even a scolding coming out of Ratna's mouth.

As if there was no self there Ratna just went into his house, making Amus confused himself for that attitude.

"Is he mad at me?" mumbling astonished.

On other occasions when they gathered together and even acted as if he was not there, all of it made Amus confused because he did not know what made Ratna act cold to him.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom for a minute, don't finish my food!" ratna reminded me.

"Depending on how fast you're going to get your business done" Jimy replied.

"Be careful if you dare to do it" Ratna threatened.

He went back, after a few minutes passed Amus went back to follow. Ratna who was so out of the bathroom saw Amus immediately put on his cold face again, as if there was no Amus there he just walked through it.

"Wait!" amus took Ratna's hand.

"Let go" said Ratna softly.

"Not until you talk to me"

"I said let go" repeated Ratna now by looking at Amus.

"What's wrong with you? have I done anything wrong?" ask Amus who can't stand it.

Ratna was unable to answer the question, Amus was not guilty of it but what he had seen made him hate himself so much that it spread to Amus.

"Why are you suddenly moving away from me?" ask Amus again.

"Because I hate you!" ratna replied that Amus would stop asking questions and let go.

Slowly Amus took off his hand, he looked at Ratna with a sense of disappointment that could not be expressed. The nodding of his head and the bitter smile he showed signified that he had understood.

After that short talk, a thin wall began to build up among those who were growing thicker by the day, they still often spend time with others but when they meet just the two of them they act like strangers.

Jimy became the first to realize that, at school he purposely met Amus just to talk about what had bothered him.

"You have often fought, even fights become one of the symbols of friendship between us. But what distance has been between you is very disturbing to me, now tell me what keeps you from talking to each other" Jimy said.

"Omong is empty, there is nothing between us" Amus replied.

"You think I'm stupid? the blind can sense something is wrong with you"

"Why don't you just ask him? I have absolutely no problem with him" Amus replied.

Not satisfied with the answer Jimy continued to ask, but still Amus did not want to confess because the reason expressed Ratna is just unreasonable hatred.

There's no other choice, Jimy turns to Ratna. Going home from school on purpose he went to the store only to ask about the problem. But apparently Ardi was also there to help Ratna's work, before talking to Ratna he had a discussion first with Ardi.

"I feel the same way, ah. they are like a child sulking" Ardi said in response.

"It's a cold war, in front of us they play as if everything is fine but obviously avoid each other"

"I've tried asking Ratna but she won't answer either, what do you think we should do?" ask Ardi.

Master pondered, looking for ideas for his two best friends to make up again. Long enough until finally the crazy idea popped into his head.

"It doesn't matter what their reason is to behave like that, our job is to reunite them then that's what we have to do. I have an idea, tonight we go through our plan" Jimy said.

In a whisper Jimy said his plan, Ardi fully supported and was tasked with making preparations for it.

Arriving when the time to live the plan, Ardi who helped Ratna work until night accompanied her home.

"We're going to master yu's house! he has a new snack" said Ardi.

"Byeah, I happen to be hungry too" replied Ratna agreeing.

They arrived at Jimy's house shortly after, in the room where they used to gather apparently there was already Amus who was playing PS.

"Oh you guys have come, the snack is in the kitchen wait for me to get it" replied Jimy.

Without caring about the PS he was playing Jimy left just like that while Ratna was sitting near the closet a bit away from Amus.

"I want a cold drink, do you have anything good?" tanya Ardi walked up to Jimy.

Unexpectedly Ardi closed the room and Jimy immediately locked it, immediately Ratna panicked and banged on the door.

"What are you guys doing?" tanyakanya.

"I won't open it until your problems are over" Jimy yelled back as well.

"Damn! why are you acting like a child?" ask Amus annoyed.

"You're the ones who act like little children, anyway this door will never be opened until your business is done" replied Jimy.

Ratna continued banging and shouting, even cursing a few times. But all that was not heard, while Amus gave up and resumed his game.

"What are you doing?" an exasperated Hardik Ratna sees Amus doing nothing.

But Amus did not answer, several times Ratna called but Amus acted as if he was not there.

"Hey I'm talking to you!" ratna shouted while pulling on Amus's shirt until she turned her head.

"Why? it does not make it feel good" said Amus slowly who made Ratna aware.
