Chapter 56 The Last Message From a New Mobile Phone

Two days later, four friends were watching a movie at Jimy Ardi's house and announced that he had broken up with Sela.

"No need to say, it doesn't matter!" jimy said.

"I didn't tell you, I said it to Ratna" Ardi replied.

"I'm not surprised, Ian has told me that he's back with Sela it includes the meaning that if you break up with Sela" replied Ratna.

"What's? isn't Ian your girlfriend? then how's your relationship going?" ask Jimy.

"Oh, about that we never actually dated. We're just doing the show"

"What the fuck? why are you doing that?" ask Amus.

"Ah, the story is long. No need to talk about it anymore"

"Bas with you!" hardik Amus's.

Even so they did not ask again, the answer was enough to tell that at this time no man had a special relationship with Ratna. Amus was cheerful again, for he had hope again.

Ratna was quite surprised when Rere told that Ian was looking for her, lucky that it was empty time because there was a teacher who did not enter. Ratna quickly left the classroom and met Ian who was waiting for her.

"What's wrong?" tanyakanya.

"This is for you" said Ian giving a small paperback.

"What's this?" ratna asked while looking at the contents.

"It's a gift from me and Sela because you've brought us back together"

"Ah. this is it!" ratna's scream took out a cell phone from inside.

"Is this real?" tanyanya could not believe it.

"of course! I've got my number and Sela in it so we can text each other"

"But this is too much" Ratna said slowly.

"Of course not! what you've done has helped us so much, it just feels like it's not enough to repay your kindness"

"You're overreacting, it's all thanks to you being open"

"Just accept it or we'll be mad at you" insisted Ian.

"Alright then thank you" Ratna replied with a smile.

Like a child who is given a new toy, Ratna is very impatient to play the phone. After returning home from school, before work he took the time to keep the Amus number he had memorized out of his head.

He deliberately sent a short message just to say hello and tell her that it was him.

"You changed your number?" reply Amus in the message.

"No! I already have my own phone, so now this is my number and the last one is my father's" he replied.

They still send messages briefly until one customer comes, Ratna also said she will end it and even say until later.

Amus smiled happy to read the message, now he can send a message without anyone knowing. It feels like his chance to awaken Ratna to his love is getting better.

"Should I... should I say now?" amus thought hard.

He no longer wanted to lose the opportunity, but it would be a waste if he declared now if Ratna herself had not been aware of his feelings.

"I'd better wait some more time" he decided.

Amus returned in the days when he was always watching Ratna, as usual when the twilight was getting dimmer in the western horizon then his heart would beat faster.

He would look at the clock every few minutes while occasionally looking out the window just to make sure that Ratna had gone home.

Meanwhile, Ratna, who is still busy because of the number of customers, is not aware that the time has shown at eight pm until Hamdani told her.

"But we still have customers, is it okay if I go home now?" ask Ratna.

"What are you talking about? it's your schedule to go home, right? no need to think about customers, uncle can handle it"

"Alright then" replied Ratna.

Immediately he rushed to clean up his belongings, after saying goodbye to Hamdani he left the store.

While walking home suddenly came to her mind to send Amus a message, Ratna quickly picked up her phone and wrote down.

"Are you asleep? I just got home from work."

Amus who was waiting for his return was of course shocked and happy to receive the message, he replied.

"Oh, so" of course because he was confused as to what to answer.

"Are Ardi and the master in your house?" ask Ratna again in a message.

"No!" answer Amus briefly.

Ratna wanted to send a message again but she was confused as to what she should ask or say, while walking down the sidewalk she thought and got an idea.

"I want to watch a movie and eat a snack, what krhsgdtsna."

Amus' phone vibrated with a sign of the incoming message, with a smile that expands he immediately saw the phone and read the contents of the message that Ratna sent for him.

"What'sthis? what's that supposed?" he muttered that he did not understand the last word of the message.

"What do you mean?" amus replied to the message.

A few minutes have passed but Ratna has not yet replied to him, curious Amus again sent a message but this time not answered. At first he thought maybe the battery of the Ratna phone ran out because when trying to call him the operator answered.

In curiosity Amus was silent waiting for Ratna's return, but it was past eight and Ratna had not yet appeared. Starting to panic and restless Amus could not sit quietly, he turned round in the room while occasionally looking out the window.

Can't just wait for Amus to start going to the front of the alley but the road is deserted without a single person.

"Where is he really?" muttered Amus worried.

He tried to wait a few more minutes, in the night that was getting late with the cold air his mind never stopped thinking about the reason where Ratna went and what made it too late.

"Damn!" it was the curse that could no longer wait.

Without a second thought Amus immediately ran to find Ratna, from the message he received stating that Ratna had returned from the tavern. That means Ratna should be on her way home, if there were no problems it should have been since Ratna got home.

But the fact that after sending a strange message that Ratna's phone is dead and can not be contacted, it makes Amus began to think negatively. With a chest that felt tight because of running in the cold of the night without stopping he continued to run, looking for Ratna along the road that he should have passed.

Amus searched long enough but he never found it too, until he accidentally heard the conversation of the owner of a roadside stall.

"That's so bad, I don't think he's gonna make it"

"From his wound it must have been very severe, I can't imagine the face of his family when he was told that his daughter was in an accident"

"I'm definitely very sad, I can feel that. It's possible that his family is still waiting for him at home, without thinking that something has happened to his son"

"I'm sorry excuse me" Amus told the shop owner.

"Yes, what do you want to buy?"

"No, I overheard my dad's conversation. Was...was there an accident?" askanya hopefully worried.

"Oh right, it was a hit-and-run. It just happened, probably about half an hour ago."

Amus's heart was immediately broken, he remembered half an hour ago when Ratna's phone suddenly died and could not be contacted.

"Right, she still wears a uniform with a gray skirt. But..why ask? do you know that girl?" ask the shop owner.

Now that tears had completely fallen on Amus' cheek, he could no longer strengthen his already broken heart. Though a few moments ago they sent each other a message, if he knew this would happen then he would pick up Ratna.

"Where is he now?" ask Amus.

"Brought to the hospital, you should be quick if he is acquaintance because the wound is severe" replied the shop owner.

"Thank you sir" said Amus.

Amus quickly ran down the sidewalk with tears in the night wind. Every step was getting heavier and his chest was getting claustrophobic, his mind that some time ago had negative thoughts was now empty with a broken heart.

At the hospital, he hunts down the receptionist to ask.

"Suster, is there a patient in this hospital named Ratna Mangalih?"

"Wait a minute, let me check first" replied the nurse who then looked at the patient list.

"I'm sorry, but there's no patient named Ratna here" the nurse told me.

"Is the sister sure? he just got in by accident"

"Oh, there was a patient who just entered because of an accident but the data is not there because there is no identification"

"Can I see it?" ask Amus worriedly.

"Are you ready?"

"I'm his friend"

"Oh well, sister! please take her to the ICU" the nurse told her friend.

"Thank you" said Amus before leaving.

Together with a nurse who delivered him Amus continued to walk with a heart that continues to beat fast.

"Is the wound really bad?" ask the nurse.

"His right leg was broken, he also lost a lot of blood. Until now he's still in the ICU room and not yet aware, we can not contact the family because there is no identification card."

Hearing the news the more sadness whipped his heart, guilt matchless makes Amus unable to walk properly. Until he reached the room the nurse invited him in, slowly Amus entered and walked slowly closer to the bed covered with curtains.

He tried to calm his heart even though in the end it made his chest feel tight, just one more step closer to the bed by trying to strengthen himself Amus raised his hand and shook the curtains.

"Ratna." called Amus to look at the girl lying on the bed.

"He's.not Ratna!" I saw the girl's face.

"What?" ask nurse.

"He's not my friend" said Amus clearly not recognizing the girl.

"really? have you confirmed it?"

"Suster! I don't recognize her, she's not Ratna!"

"So yeah, it looks like you got the wrong guy" the nurse replied.

Amus breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that the calamitous girl was not Ratna. But his smile disappears when he realizes that it means Ratna is still not found, immediately Amus ran out of the hospital and tried to search again.

Now her heart grew stronger in the hope that Ratna was fine, more calmly searching every place she could possibly visit or the path she walked.

"Amus.

That voice, a familiar voice and he heard it all the time. The voice that only the jolly girl had, Amus slowly turned around and looked at the figure of the girl he had been looking for.

"Amus." call Ratna back.

An immeasurable feeling of happiness left Amus only able to grin, staring at his running girl and suddenly hugging her tightly. Slowly, Amus rubbed Ratna's hair making sure that it wasn't his delusion.

"You. it's you. " murmured Amus to realize that the girl was Ratna.

The feeling of relief mixed with annoyance, happiness and haru made him return Ratna's embrace quite tightly.

"What are you doing? where have you been?" hardik Amus let go of Ratna's embrace so worried him.

"Don't be angry with me now.I was just on the stroke of calamity" Ratna replied with a whine.

"Cruel? what happened to you?" amus asked again.

Some time ago, when Ratna sent messages to each other with Amus without realizing a man who had been following her from behind. A few minutes later suddenly the man who followed him took Ratna's phone and just ran away, the shocked Ratna could only sculpt before then shouting snatch.

Some time he had pursued the thief but unfortunately he lost track, desperate and confused making Ratna can only be silent regret what has happened to him.

With a feeling of sadness mixed with anger he went to the police station to report what had happened to him, which was the reason why he had suddenly disappeared. Apparently when Amus tried to make sure to the hospital Ratna went to the police station so they did not meet.

"So that's the answer to why you sent a strange message, apparently while you were typing the thief took your phone. But no one was hurt, right?" ask Amus.

"The only one who hurt is my heart" replied Ratna still wiping away her tears.

"Here you go, stuff like that can be bought again that matters your life is safe"

"It's easy to talk like that because you're a rich kid, just once try to live to be me so you know what it's like" Ratna replied in annoyance.

"When I just held it, it was a gift from Ian and Sela but I just disappeared" Ratna murmured regretfully.

"That thing didn't just disappear, it's obvious you were snatched. If they ask just tell me what happened, I'm sure they'll understand"

"I'm still not sincere"

"Ah you here, what if I buy eskrim?"

"What is the size of a jumbo?" ask Ratna.

Amus could not help but laugh at the silly question, even at times like this Ratna could still think about food. But it calmed her down, because it was a sign Ratna was fine.
