Chapter 69 The Complicated Relationship

Ratna came with drugs from the pharmacy, although Amus' wounds were not severe but bruises on his legs made it difficult to walk.

"How are you?" ask Ratna.

"You can see for yourself" replied Amus coldly.

Actually Ratna is not expecting love, but she can not control her body that moves just like that. Amus's indifferent attitude has been around for a long time but after he knew his love was not there in Amus made the indifferent attitude sometimes tormenting his mind.

"You're getting better, good." said Ratna.

"Then I go home, good night"

"Mm" said Amus to let Ratna go.

He looked at the medicines Ratna was carrying, looked at them more closely and it turned out to make him sick. He moved slowly and took something from inside the drawer, it was the watch Ratna gave him on his birthday.

He wore it on his right hand before going to bed, hoping he would dream beautifully about their relationship that might never come true.

Before going to bed as usual Ratna tidied up her textbooks so that the next morning she stayed to go to school, but when she saw one of the books she remembered the task that she had not done.

"Jeez.... tomorrow I have to collect the task, how is this?" muttered.

Time showed at half-nine p.m., he had to hurry otherwise the shop would close soon. With a jacket he ran out of the house, as quickly as possible until he reached the store.

Luckily the store was still open so he could buy the equipment he needed, after buying all the necessities he went home on foot.

"My legs feel like they're going to break" he complained from being tired of running.

"Where are you from these nights?" ask Ardi who happened to be out of the house.

"I'm from the store, buying equipment to make masterpieces"

"Owh... Why did it dissolve like this?"

"I forgot that there is a task to make a masterpiece, tomorrow I must have collected it otherwise I can lose it because of the loss of value"

"Mm, do you want me to help you? if we do it together, it'll be done sooner"

"really? thank you very much" said Ratna accepted the offer.

Ardi rushed up to Ratna and walking with her, they arrived home shortly afterwards and went straight to the task. This time Ratna made a 3D painting using onion skin, she made a sketch first by making a new flower picture and then on a nice onion skin paste with the help of adhesive.

They have to be careful in doing it because the onion skin is thin and brittle enough so that it is easily damaged, many hours passed fatigue makes Ratna's eyes start to sleepy.

Fortunately there was Ardi there who was petrified so that the task was finally completed as well, Ratna seemed happy because the work was good and neat.

"Thank you, thanks to you tomorrow I can collect the task" said Ratna.

Ardi just smiled as he looked at Ratna, scrutinizing her beautiful face while trying to guess what was inside the girl's mind.

"Na, did you ever think why I was always nice to you? do you never feel that my attitude is different from others?" ask Ardi suddenly.

Ratna could not answer the question because for her the speech was a statement that she could not understand, one thing that surely Ratna realized was a code for something else.

"You yawned from earlier, go to sleep I'll go home too" he said without waiting for Ratna's answer.

After the departure of Ardi Ratna still trying to think about the remark, in fact he was quite sensitive and aware that there is a possibility Ardi liked her as a woman. But if Ardi does not express his feelings then until anytime Ratna will not admit that Ardi has feelings for him.

He will still behave like a friend even though on his birthday Ardi gives a gift that is quite special, it was a beautiful pendant necklace where he could keep a small photo inside.

Ratna tries to talk to Rere about Ardi's problem, Rere says his premonition says that Ardi does have feelings for her.

"Try to open up your heart, he's a handsome, smart man let alone one less than him?" said Rere trying to advise.

That is true, Ardi is a man who is much desired by women. But for him who since childhood has lived together, Ardi is just an overprotective brother.

"Come on, I'm not sure" Ratna admitted.

"Are you still traumatized by what happened to Amus?" guess Rere.

Although Ratna did not answer but from the expression alone it was enough to explain everything, Rere did not ask again or advise the others. All the decisions are in Ratna's hands, if she wants to open her heart it's possible that the relationship will work.

Ratna is confused by her undeniable heart that there is still Amus there, but her brain says that being loved is better than expecting what is not hers.

In the room he stared at the two objects with his brain and heart that continued to clash, one music box given by Amus who always accompanied him when bored and another necklace pendant given Ardi who became his code of feeling.

"Why does my head feel like it's going to explode" he murmured while frowning.

Tired of continuing to think Ratna made the decision to remain ordinary until Ardi expressed his love, when the day came he was sure his heart would give the right answer.

After all the approach done Ardi Ratna thought he would express his feelings sooner but it turns out after they entered the second semester Ardi still has not stated anything.

She still pays more attention, is still very good and sometimes makes her feel special as a girl. Sometimes he also teases by telling jokes that as a man he is interested in him, but all that is still a joke.

"Do you like the smell?"

"Lumayan, why do you wear perfume when you go home?"

"There's a new bookstore open, I heard there's a lot of interesting books there. The store was quite popular and had many members, I wanted to join in order to borrow books"

"So you're appraising the members at the store or the shop owner?" ask Ratna to clarify.

"Hehe.. that's actually nothing"

"No way, how can you look beautiful like this even to wear perfume if there's nothing you're after" Ratna said in disbelief.

"Really, I was just thinking maybe I could find someone right there" Rere replied.

"Hmm, good luck" Ratna said.

Rere smiled and thanked for the support given by Ratna, after breaking up with Jimy actually he felt a little regret. He realized his attitude had crossed the line, especially when he saw Jimy who was willing to wait for hours just to apologize in the cold of the night he knew Jimy was a good man.

But the decision has been taken, they parted in a way that is not good and there is no point to regret. Now he has entered the second semester where his time for fun will soon run out, after rising to the third grade his only task is to learn.

Therefore he wants to try to live one more relationship and enjoy the good times before getting into the busy zone.

Upon reaching the place Rere again tidied his hair and clothes before going inside.

"Welcome" said a woman to welcome him.

"Thank you, um. I would like to register as a member of the group" he said.

"Oh then please read the rules and conditions in this book first, if you agree on everything you can fill your biodata on this paper" said the woman gave a guidebook and a piece of paper that she had to fill.

"Alright" said Rere to pick up the book and paper.

He sat on one of the benches available and began reading what rules he had to obey if he had joined the group, there are no burdensome rules so Rere began to see what conditions he must meet to become a member.

He only needs to fill out the biodata on the paper that has been provided and pay some money for administrative costs, after all finished Rere get a membership card and officially become a member.

Without waiting for long Rere began to go see the collection of books, the place was not so extensive but the collection of books is quite a lot. He saw some members busy themselves with their books at the reading table, while others were confused about which books to choose.

Rere found a shelf of romance novels, his eyes immediately read the titles listed there. As he found the title that pulled his hand began to pick up the book and look at the cover, take a quick look at it and return it to its original place of lack of interest.

He began to look at the books on the top shelf, one of the books looks interesting and the title. He raised his hand and tried to take it but unfortunately his hand did not arrive, there was no bench there so Rere had to tiptoe but still he did not succeed.

Suddenly a hand from behind his body took the book and gave it to him.

"Thank you" Rere said as he turned to look at the figure who had helped him.

But his smile was lost when he saw the figure turned out to be Jimy, of course Rere was quite surprised for him because he did not expect to meet Jimy at that place.

"Together, if you ever need any more help you can ask someone else for help" Jimy said with a faint smile.

Jimy left just like that after saying that, he was lost behind the shelves that made Rere become curious. Slowly Rere walked toward Jimy's departure, just behind a shelf he found Jimy was cleaning up the books.

There were many books in the basket beside his feet, Jimy meticulously looked at the title of the book one by one and placed them on the shelf according to his category.

What Jimy's job is making Rere assume that Jimy is one of the clerks at the store, but it's quite surprising that Jimy's parents were not bookstores.

The next day he tried to ask Ratna about it, but it turned out that Ratna did not know about Jimy in the bookstore.

Rere did not ask anymore and after school he took the time to stop by the bookstore to borrow a book, that day apparently Jimy did not exist. He took advantage of this by asking the officers.

"Oh Jimy is one of the officers in this store, actually he's not really an officer. It's just that he is the nephew of the owner of this bookstore, sometimes he comes to donate books sometimes also help our work as officers" he replied.

"That's it. Thank you" said Rere.

The next day Rere came by bringing the books he had not used to donate to the store, at which time Jimy came who immediately took the books for him to check his eligibility.

"All the books are still good and worth reading, after the stamp of the book I will finish thank you for the donation" said Jimy.

"No problem" Rere replied.

Jimy went with all the books the other officer had to put on the stamp, Rere who was left alone could only see Jimy's wide back and the muscles of his arms that were visible while lifting the books.

Since they broke up last time he remembered only regret on Jimy's face, so long time no see now Jimy is fine. Although clearly he could feel the awkwardness that was present between them, it was quite annoying because when they were still dating Jimy was a person full of laughter.

Wanting to forget what is called the memory of Rere began to move to find an interesting book, although in fact in his mind still remembered the face of Jimy fun.

"Sorry, can you get me those books?" said an officer at the top of the folding ladder who was storing some books.

"Oh well" Rere replied taking out five books at once and handing them over.

"Thank you" he said, picking up the books.

With hands full of books the officer tried to grab some books from inside the shelf, but he wasn't careful enough that all the books he held fell and were ready to hit Rere right below.
