Dollar Girl

Dollar Girl
Chapter 15 The child

"For everyone. "greet a teacher while walking to his desk.

"For the sir." replied the children simultaneously.

"Today we'll have a test, collect your notebooks at Father's desk"

Ha.....

The morning groan sounded loud throughout the class, all the students looked crumpled and some even put on angry looks as well.

"We please share the answer sheet and the problem" said the teacher as he handed over a pile of papers.

"Good!" mita answered immediately giving one disciple one sheet.

"Listen children! in the national exam later you will get an answer sheet like the one you hold, and the one who checks the answer sheet is a computer. If your answer is correct but your charging method is wrong then it is considered wrong, for that you must do it right"

"But how to fill it, sir?" asked a puzzled disciple while staring at the answer sheet.

"The father teaches, first fill your name in the name box and then blacken the letters as shown in the box. For the answer itself choose between a, b, c, d or e then blacken, remember! do not cross the line when blackening or less"

"Well, "reply the children together.

Although the problem they can still be relatively easy because their own teachers who make it still drain their brains, no doubt even some students seem to frown because of thinking hard.

For Ratna himself the matter falls into the standard category, which is quite difficult for him is to blacken the circle properly. Educated as a child who must obey and must not make mistakes to make him always do anything with seriousness, worse he sometimes takes time just to check whether his work is right or not.

"Don't daydream while walking" said Ardi who hit from behind.

"Ah... I'm not daydreaming!" erang Ratna rubbed her head.

"Tumben you yourself, usually go home with the master and Amus"

"Master has business first, Amus doesn't know where to go" replied Ardi as he walked beside Ratna.

"Eh there's an escrim, you want to?" tawar Ardi who saw from a distance.

Ratna nodded quickly in response.

"Wait on!" ardi shouted while running towards the seller.

It feels like nostalgia, as a child after school sometimes Ardi walks with him while driving him home. If only the two he will also buy food or drinks that must be exhausted before reaching home, if compared to the others Ardi treatment to him more like a brother who protects his sister.

"Take your ice cream now, I go home first huh" Ardi said as they reached the alley.

"I know" replied Ratna staring at Ardi's departure.

It took him a while until he finally******** finished the ice cream in his hand, after throwing the package into the trash can he walked back.

From a distance he saw a familiar woman sweeping the street in front of Amus' house, slowly walking closer until she looked at him.

"Oh, are you Ratna?" ask the woman with a bright face.

"Auntie.... long time no see, how are you?" call Ratna while approaching.

"Jeez. You're big and beautiful! it feels like just yesterday you were in my arms."

Ratna smiled remembering her childhood which was always spoiled by Amus' mother.

"When is aunt coming home? is there an uncle?"

"Uncle! how are you?" greet Ratna when entering the house and soon meet Amus' father.

"Oh, are you Ratna? gosh, it's been a long time since we met. Come in, son" he replied cheerfully.

"Good uncle."

Amus' mother asked a lot about how Ratna's life so far, she only answered as usual without indulging in the ugliness of Sari or her stepfather because it was all a past that she wanted to forget.

The chat continues on nostalgia where they are so close almost like a real mother and child, Amus' mother also expressed her condolences for the recent passing of Ratna's mother.

"If you need anything don't hesitate to ask, I already consider you as my own daughter" said Amus' mother.

"Auntie doesn't have to worry about me now, I'm a big one"

"Also you're a girl, seeing you grow up so pretty just makes me worry more"

"I'm not that pretty, then I'll excuse you for thanking you for the gift"

"Yes together, play again here" said Amus' mother while staring at the departure of Ratna who returned home.

Meeting just once was not enough for Amus' mother to let go of her longing for Ratna, for a few days she continued to invite Ratna to her home even though just to watch television together. Strangely as often as Ratna went to her house she found Amus nowhere but at school, of course this makes Ratna quite confused because the distance between her house and Amus close allows Ratna to know when Amus enters or leaves the house.

That day at school Amus was suddenly disappeared when clearly this morning Ratna saw he was already at school.

"Is Amus ditching again just to play ball?" ratna asked Ardi.

"Let's go, I don't think so!"

"Where did he go?"

"He can be anywhere, with his mother at home, he will look for another house where there is no mother"

"What are you talking about? I don't understand it at all" Ratna said.

"Did you remember the gossip that went around when we were kids? gossip about the gatherer" asked Ardi reminded.

"Ha... You mean the rumors about Amus?" asked Ratna who was thinking back.

"The rumors are true, one night Amus' mother once scolded him all out and in her screams she called Amus just a pickle boy. She reveals all her own family secrets, since then Amus never came home if his mother came home"

"God.." muttered Ratna in disbelief.

As a person who had felt living with a brother, Ratna certainly understood the feelings of Amus, let alone being angry by people who turned out not to be their own family.

It was that feeling that made Ratna sympathize, along the way she thought about where Amus was going and what he was doing until she accidentally saw Amus sleeping on the park chair.

"What are you doing here?" ratna asked who rushed over.

"You... You yourself what are you doing?" reply Amus while rising.

"I want to come home by accident to see you here, why are you skipping again?"

"It's none of your business, little boy!"

"Basic stupid Amus! don't wait around now that you're taller than me so you can just as casually be with me" Ratna shouted back.

Amus did not answer, for a while they were silent to each other until Ratna finally said before leaving.

"Go home! I can't go in and play in your room if you're not there."
