Chapter 7 Rescue umbrella

Zrrr.....Glug......

Kyaa........

He lowered his head while covering both ears with his hands, his eyes remained closed for a while until the heartbeat stopped pounding violently.

"Ahhh.... when will the rain stop? if this continues, I may be late to school" he looked at the sky that was still cloudy with water soaking the earth.

"Oh Amus!" call pleased.

"You haven't left yet? today there's a math test if it's too late you'll be in the law"

"My umbrella is broken I don't have a raincoat either" replied Ratna pouting.

Amus was seen sighing, unexpectedly giving the umbrella he was wearing to Ratna.

"Use my umbrella" he said as he pulled Ratna's hand to hold the umbrella.

His heart beat again when he saw Amus covered his head with a hat and ran away leaving him still silent, he knew the pounding was not due to the sound of lightning. The typical smile of the girl flashed on her lips a moment later, immediately Ratna ran after Amus.

"Wait!" he grabbed Amus' hand.

Amus stared in shock as his steps stopped, this time his heart thumped violently as Ratna smiled sweetly while positioning the umbrella appropriately.

"The umbrella is big enough, we can wear it together" he said.

"Well" replied Amus.

Slowly they now walked hand in hand, down the sidewalk in the rain that still soaked the earth.

For the first time there was awkwardness between them, no words were spoken other than the sound of the rain being heard noisily.

"Ratna watch!"

He was still petrified in Amus' arms as Amus slowly let go to see how wet his jacket was.

"Damn! if you bring the right car!" amus shouted at the car that had been speeding.

"You okay?" ask Ratna worried.

"No, only my jacket was hit" replied Amus cleaning his splashed jacket.

"We'd better hurry! you can clean it up in the school toilet later"

"Yes come!" amus answered, starting to walk back.

They arrive at school on time, Amus immediately runs to the toilet to clean up while Ratna enters the classroom where only a few students are present because of the morning rain.

The bells of the lesson mark will soon begin to sound, in the first hour of their lesson already presented on the math exam.

Ratna glanced to the side where Amus had already focused on the matter sheet, he also glanced to the left where Jimy was seen scratching his head and as he looked ahead where Ardi should have been sitting there but the bench was empty.

"He must have been bad luck because of playing PS last night" he murmured.

"Sorry Mom, I have bad luck" Ardi said with a red face at the entrance.

"Mom knows you're bad, sit down! the sheet about you mother added as punishment" said the teacher firmly.

There is nothing Ardi can say except 'yes' because he knows if he goes against then the punishment will be even greater. He immediately walked towards his chair and briefly glanced at Ratna who was smiling at him, without a sound he asked.

Ratna looked back at her answer sheet and worked on the problem she thought was easy first.

During the exam the class was so quiet, no one dared to speak even glance to and fro. The silence that even made Ratna remember the awkwardness between herself and Amus this morning, suddenly reflected in her mind how Amus gave up his umbrella and protected her body from splashing a dirty puddle.

He secretly glanced at Amus and stared at him for a while until Amus suddenly looked back at him, an unbearable shame making him turn his face away quickly.

"Whether the children are up, put the answer sheets and questions separately" the teacher said after the bell rang.

"Good ma'am!" answer all students.

"Hey, can you solve everything about you?" ratna asked while patting Ardi on the shoulder.

"Not everyone, more sheets about me than you!"

"Mistake yourself why you're so bad"

"Don't talk about it now, I'm still sleepy waking me up if a teacher comes in" she said, putting her head in her bag and trying to sleep on the table.

"I wonder why you're still smart when you're always sleeping in class" Ratna murmured.

"Everything..the history teacher cannot enter today, instead we are told to take notes" cried Mita.

The cheers of the disciples welcomed the announcement, after the tough test in the first hour was indeed the free hour they needed to get back excited.

"Please make me a note again, instead I'll buy you your favorite cassava chips" said Amus kept the book right in front of Ratna.

"Ah I don't want to!" Ratna.

"Then what do you want? your favorite snack is worth it instead"

"Buy me a new ballpoint pen, at least two because my ballpoint pen is about to run out"

"Well I'll buy you a new one" said Amus, stroking Ratna's head, which made her heart beat again.

'Why? my heart is always beating fast... Do I have heart disease?' batin Ratna stroked her chest.

As promised last night when the break has arrived Jimy treat Ratna a bowl of instant noodles with egg toppings, with the excitement of Ratna goes first.

"Oi master! don't forget it!" said someone who greeted Jimy yesterday.

Suddenly it makes Ratna astonished because the man always reminds Jimy about something, then after eating Jimy, he, Amus and Ardi would leave in a hurry without saying where they were going or what they were going to do.

That day, he was determined to find out where they were going. After they told her to go to class first Ratna deliberately let them walk first, until she felt the distance was safe enough to stalk her.

The three people walked past first grade, so far no one was suspicious seeing them walking around jokingly. Seen then they turn and disappear from view, Ratna quickly runs to find out where they lost.

Apparently they went towards the unused class, and still continued walking towards the back area of the class. Ratna tried to peer over the wall when she saw the three friends meeting some other disciples.

From the pocket Jimy looks out something in the shape of a box, then he handed it to the person who always greeted him at rest.

"Did you replace it with a new one?" tanyakanya.

"Of course, I've tried it and it tastes a lot better than it did yesterday" Jimy replied.

'Ah that's right.' Inner Ratna was shocked to see a familiar object removed from the box.
