Earnest's Point of View
I went to the restaurant where Gaia and I had agreed to, after dropping Jade in her office. Today is his last day of work. We agreed that he would stop there. Jade will hand over her resignation and leave from Gaia.
Although I am not calm because it cannot be that simple. I know Gaia. But I chose to believe in Jade's instincts. He said everything would be fine. After all, Gaia had already agreed to meet with me. I'll talk to him about our relationship. I'm speculating. There was doubt, it couldn't have been that easy to make Gaia let go of Jade. But I depend on the quality of our friendship. Cook for his own best friend he's that selfish? She herself had already found the man to marry. She should have thanked me for helping Jade to forget her grief. It's more or less the way I think of dispelling my sense of doubt. Honestly, it's all bad. Gaia's not that good.
I decided to wander around the restaurant area to wait until our appointment hour. I remember, there was a bookstore around that place. Hopefully there are still. I have wonderful memories of that place. In the past, we used that place as a place to escape and hide with my band members on the sidelines of training and performance schedules that were really stressful. We had fun reading books and comics. Then go home to the mess and get ready to receive the punishment for disappearing without notice. The only one who knows this place is us. And become a favorite place to hide and unwind the atmosphere of the agency where we live.
I'm planning on finding some good books for Jade. So he can start busy reading and writing as he pleases, at home. I'm so happy to give it. I'll always find Jade at home. I could not control myself, happy emotions were emanating through my face, always smiling. I don't even care when some people recognize me and I end up having to stop once in a while when they ask to say hello, take a picture, or ask for an autograph. For that day, I let myself live as I am. Consider it an exercise. Soon, I even plan to announce my relationship with Jade. I will live freely, as I please.
I am glad that the bookstore is still there. It still looks exactly the same in the more outdated version. But still clean and well maintained. The vibe given is a warm and calm atmosphere. They seemed to be preserving all the pleasant memories I had there. I started exploring rack by shelf. Spent almost an hour in that store and got 5 books that I thought were good and useful for Jade. After paying, I walked to the car. Soon the schedule of the agreement with Gaia arrived. I got a call. I saw the phone screen. Drey's? He's one of my confidants I've been tasked with overseeing Jade since a year ago. What was? Fear ambushed me. He wouldn't call without me asking unless he wanted to say urgent things, usually bad things.
“Drey, speak..”.
"Hello boss. Of emergency. I saw Gaia and her bodyguards walking out of her office carrying someone. It is unclear who because it is covered by cloth. But I recognized her long, black hair, Is it possible Jade? They took him to Life Hospital, which is closest to the office area. I've checked the emergency room, it's true Jade.” I hung up the phone quickly and started the car. Please, not a serious thing. God please. And I cursed Gaia, cursing with an expletive. It must have something to do with the anger issue he has. What did he do to Jade? Until he got to the IGD. Is it because Jade resigned? Or maybe Jade told you about us? Holy hooch! I really wish Jade was alive. Otherwise, I could kill Gaia. He hasn't changed the same. Still acting as he pleases despite putting the lives of others at risk. He still thought that the world was under the soles of his feet.
I left the car in the lobby, I handed the keys to Drey who was waiting there. Run for the elevator and go upstairs, in the VIP room. I got that information from Drey.
“Gaia...” I called her with a trembling voice. He looked at me and was surprised to see me there.
"Earnest, how did you know to come here?" She asked.
"You're supposed to turn yourself in to the police, or to a mental institution. You're sick!" I hissed in anger. He looked at me, his facial water changing from shock to confusion trying to understand my words.
"Don't tell me, you're the guy he mentioned?" He's turning angry.
“Yes, Jade is mine. But what's your business? Whatever the reason, you can't justify this kind of action. If you let your demonic nature linger in you, you'll end up being Gaia's killer. How dare you ruin someone else's life like this!” I held back the fist not to throw it in his face. After all, I shouldn't have acted rudely towards a woman. I knew he wouldn't be able to fight me. But with her bow, she had an angry face as if she was mighty enough to be able to tear me down.
“Ah... So it was you who snatched him away from me..” He spoke as if he was a victim and his actions were not at all wrong.
"Stop Gaia! Jade is not a thing. Not something that can be taken by force. He is a man with feelings. He has the right to decide whatever he wants to do with his life. You must be aware. Not everything in this world you can think of as your toy!” She laughed hysterically.
"Oh... So that's how the story goes. I was wondering who that man was. He dared to resign and parted with me. It must be because he's already got a big catch here. He is rubbish. Know it? I saved his life many times. If it wasn't for me, he'd already be in a shitty place right now. In fact maybe, it could be, she was the most marketable whore. Worn by a lot of jerks out there. I have the right to do whatever I want about him. Don't you dare cross the line. You better disappear from this place now. No one invited you here!”
