Between Love and Mission

Chapter 59

Two years ago.

"Vane hang on, brother please!!!"satria said with a trembling voice full of fear.

Vane is carried into the ambulance, and Satria who accompanies Vane in the ambulance. And three ambulance cars immediately drove as fast as possible in order to save the lives of people who were taken.

A nurse immediately gave the first action, she put Vane on a breath aid, put the infusion, then wrapped the puncture wound in Vane's stomach. Satria could not hold back her crying, she continued to stroke her sister's head.

That was what Vane whispered to Satria in a stammering voice and was so weak. Satria clasped Vane's hands and kissed his back, not forgetting he kissed his sister's forehead affectionately.

Vane's hand slipped from Satria's, and stretched down. Satria looked at Vane's face with her eyes closed. Then she cried silently while hugging Vane's body tightly.

The Wibowo family residence has been visited by mourners who want to pay their last respects to the warrior. Until the arrival of the ambulance that carried the coffin and placed it in the house. After the crate was opened all the family members immediately shouted hysterically.

"Bima, Satria, you'd better take your wife and mama to your room" said Jatra coldly.

The two men immediately led the women of the Wibowo family to the room. Jatra continued to stare at the beautiful face of his daughter that he might never see again.

"Om Jatra..." The sound of a call made Jatra turn his head and he saw the arrival of Bobi and Dika. The two friends of Vane immediately embraced Jatra together.

"Patience to you, Om" said Bobi.

"Vane is calm there, Om" continued Dika.

"Thank you, you've always been there when my daughter needed you. She must be proud to have a friend like you" replied Jatra withstanding her cries.

The three of them took off their arms. And suddenly the atmosphere of silence when the house was the arrival of someone who was none other than Rey. He tried to walk quickly even though he was trained not to care about his condition which was still weak. Until Rey finally dropped himself on the casket.

"Hey, babe. I'm here's. We're just gonna start all over again. Why did you go and leave me alone? Who will I live with later? I'm sorry, for all my mistakes. I know you're mad at me because I'm secretly helping Clara? But I no longer have any feelings for him. Don't do this to me, baby. I love you, but why is it the beginning and the end of everything."

Rey literally cried holding his late wife's hand, stroked her face so gently, and kissed her face lovingly. Sarah sees how much her son loves Vane, and it makes her feel sick knowing their life will end like this.

"Sir Jatra, I. apologize if all this happened because it was started by the actions of my husband..." Sarah felt guilty and felt her family was the cause of her own daughter-in-law's death.

"Already Ma'am, maybe all this is fate" cut off Jatra who no longer wants to say anything because he is unable to say any more words.

Vane's funeral was held, and he was honourably buried with a military ceremony as a sign of respect for all his service to the state. In the midst of his grief, Rey was amazed to see the mourners who came to his wife's funeral.

Where some of the mourners were not Indonesian, and it was enough to prove that his late wife was a great person known by many. After the funeral procession is completed, one by one family members spread flowers in the Vane navel.

One by one the mourners said goodbye to the Wibowo family and said condolences once again and before they left. And with all the persuasions of the men of the Wibowo family can finally bring their wives home. While Rey does not want to leave the navel of his wife. He sat down while stroking his wife's navel.

"I'm Mikhail Shoygu, the son of Russian defense minister Sergey Shoygu, Vanessa's ex-girlfriend" Micah reached out.

Rey is surprised that he is dealing with an important person in Russia plus the man is his ex-girlfriend, his late wife. Rey is now aware that she has been living with a woman who has a big name in the world. Rey gave a confused look towards Micah. Then he returned Micah's hand and regretted it.

"Do you know, Nessa is a strong, brave, and great woman. He will do anything to protect his loved ones and his country. She's the most special woman, she has her own charm, and that's what makes me feel lucky to ever love her."

Rey looked at Micah with a dislike gaze as the Russian man dared to discuss his past with Vane before him. Micah just chuckled looking at the expression Rey showed.

"But luckier you are Rey. You can marry her, live with her, love her, and even your love until it's brought to death by, Nessa. I'm so jealous of you. Sometimes it is very difficult to accept the reality of life, especially if we lose the people we love. But more than that, you should at least stay alive to appreciate all the sacrifices. I wish you could be like that. Nessa must have loved you so much that she was willing to sacrifice her life for you."

Rey's eyes begin to glaze over and without Micah expecting it, Rey hugs her like they are old friends. And Micah doesn't mind returning Rey's embrace.

Returning from the tomb, Rey returns to Jatra's house first to apologize and say goodbye. He felt guilty because he made the family have to lose their beloved daughter. But with a big heart the Jatra family has let everything go. And don't forget Satria gave Vane the box she asked him to give it to Rey.

"Rey, this is the message from Vane that I have to tell you. And one more, this is a gift from me. That's the voice eavesdropping device I put in Vane's shoes when I was going to save you. Maybe you want to remember how Vane expressed love to you."

After that, Rey returned to her home. He decided to go into his music studio. The place where it all started, when he kissed Vane's lips for the first time. Rey opened the box, and she saw a piece of paper the first time she opened it.

I believe and know for sure that what comes one day will go away. Nothing is eternal on this earth. When we started our story, I knew one day we would be apart no matter how. I wish we had a forever story. You can skip seasons with you, going through every turn of the year without feeling lonely.

But in fact, destiny has another story for us to live.

Rey then opens the second file, and the file shows Vane in a white dress walking to the piano and sitting on a chair. He slowly pressed the piano keys and began singing one of Agnes Monica's songs.
