Chapter 47
The rain had subsided an hour ago, and now Rey had just parked her car in front of Vane's parents' house. Actually he deliberately told Vane's family not to say happy birthday to his wife because he had prepared a surprise at his in-laws' house.
Vane was astonished, usually on Sundays his parents must have been sitting on the porch. But why today the house is quiet, but the rain has subsided and the sun began to show its rays. They both got out of the car and walked towards the house.

There's no answer when Vane knocks on the door, and Rey just puts her shoulder to shoulder in the dark. Vane decided to open the door and pushed it slowly.

There was the sound of screaming along with the explosion of the pooper party welcoming the arrival of Vane and Rey. His family members immediately sang happy birthday songs, and his mama brought a cake with twenty-eight-year-old figure-shaped candles. Vane did make a wish and blew out the candles. One by one the family members hugged, kissed, and wished him a happy birthday. And unexpectedly it turns out Rey has also hired a photographer to capture this moment.
"This is all of you're planning?"ask Vane with a face full of happiness.
"No. These are all your husband's plans. He asked that we all not wish you a birthday and prepare all these surprises" Jatra replied.
Vane immediately glanced at Rey who was met with a warm smile from her husband.
"But sorry Van, we can not love you a useful and useful gift because it looks like your husband can and is able to meet your needs" said Bima who was not as cold as before.
"To get a surprise like this is more than enough for me" replied Vane.
"But big brother has a gift that Rey might not have been able to love you yet" Ana said with a mysterious look.
Vane looked at his sister with a confused look and occasionally he glanced at Rey asking for answers but Rey instead put on the shoulder of an ignorant sign.
Ana thrust a brown box along the palm of her hand at Vane. At first Vane looked at the box and opened it after receiving approval from Ana. Slowly Vane opened the box and immediately showed a puzzled expression.
"This is what's it, brother?"tanya Vane lifts a testpack.
Satria patted her forehead while looking at her brother's innocent expression which made her want to strangle her own sister.
"Vanessa, it's a testpack" Ana calmly said.
"Continue?"
"Do you see how many lines there are?"
"Two" replied Vane lightly.
"That means, your niece's pregnant sister" Ana continued in a happy tone.
"Ooh...WHAT???"vane finally shouted as his brain managed to digest Ana's words. Vane immediately hugged Ana so happy because she would have a niece.
"Congratulations Brother. I'm really happy" said Vane hugging Ana tightly.
"Congratulations Brother." Rey greeted Bima and her sister-in-law replied with a smile.
"Oh yes Rey, congratulations on the soundtrack and trailer of your film has been launched. The song is really good and the movie trailer makes me curious" said Amel.
"Yeah.mamah to watch your movie next month. We'll watch yuk Pah. Count-count dating again"so Indah grabbed her husband's arm.
"Yaa Mah"sahut Jatra.
"Especially your voice when singing the song on the show last night, geez make a serious baper. I think if you duet with Vane will be cool" said Ana.
Rey was surprised and immediately glared at Vane. He didn't know if his wife could sing. Vane who got that look could only snort angrily as his sister-in-law opened her life card.
"You don't have to look confused like that. You think the piano in this house is just a display? Of course Vane will sing a classic song every time she has a holiday" continued Indah glanced at a piano lying in the family room.
"Classical song?" Rey is increasingly surprised because of the fact that Vane can not only sing ordinary pop songs but also classic songs.
"Come on Van, you sing dong. I haven't heard you sing in a long time. Your niece is also asking you to"Ana stroked her stomach.
Vane silently stared and gave a sadistic look. She always hid every talent when if she wanted to show up, surely she would be an artist like her husband. But Vane is more comfortable if enough he and his family enjoy every talent.
"You don't want to show your singing talent to your husband" Rey asked with a curious look.
"Oh okay. It seems that even if I wanted to run away I wouldn't be able to. Just one song, no one can bid or menyawer" said Vane finally resigned.
"Indeed, who wants to hire you? Your husband is rich" Satria replied.
Vane snorted annoyedly at the taunts of her brother. He walked to the piano and sat in the chair. Rey looks at Vane who looks so graceful wearing a salem-colored maxi dress and sits in front of the piano. His heart trembled as he looked at the figure of an angel who would sing after this. Vane pressed the piano keys as the opening act before he finally sang.

Rey is unceasingly open and fascinated when she hears how sweet Vane's voice is when she sings classic Italian songs so well. Perhaps Vane's voice could be likened to Isyana Sarasvati's.
"Great is it my sister?"satria tapped Rey on the shoulder and roused her from her dream of admiration.
"Maybe I need to orbit it as a singer" Rey said with a chuckle.
"Just do it if you dare. I'm sure he'll refuse" Satria replied laughing.
"It's finished the show, now we eat first yes" said Indah.
They all turned to the dining room for lunch together full of family and warmth. Rey has long not felt a complete meal with the whole family like this. After finishing eating together, Rey invited Bima and Jatra to play chess on the porch next to the house.
While Vane steals the opportunity with Satria to start all the things they planned. They both walked into the study and locked the door tightly.
"I met Rius at the supermarket that day. From her gaze it seemed like she was suspicious of big brother" Satria said starting the conversation.

"And I found out that there's someone looking for information about you and our family. If you look at the location of his whereabouts, he's in the same apartment as Steven. And as far as I know, Rius' brother also lives in the same apartment" Satria continued.

Satria was silent for a moment and busy with her own thoughts. Vane was already leaning his back on the sofa and trying to think of something he had suspected before.

Vane scrunched his forehead and threw the pen towards Satria's forehead.
"Sick Van!"shouts Satria stroked her forehead.
"Whispering, I thought. There is a strangeness in this mission, Adam is so relaxed, calm, and happy as well as Jade. But Rius became a figure..eemm.psychopath" said Vane hesitantly.
"I think so. From the way he looked at others, he was like a life-extracting demon. But it's pretty risky if we get close to him"tandas Satria.
"I didn't say I should go near Rius either. I'm sure after this he'll meet Adam and start planning things" Vane said with confidence.
Late in the afternoon, Rey and Vane say goodbye as Sarah calls Rey to her house with Vane and invites them to dinner together. Rey has arrived in front of his mother's house, he took Vane's hand to enter the house. And they were immediately greeted by a warm embrace from Sarah.
"Vane, can you help me prepare dinner?"ask Sarah.
"Can Mah" replied Vane happily.
"And you Rey, please deliver this tea to your papah. He's in the library" Sarah's orders.
"There's Mah's maid..."
"Your sins are against the orders of the parents. Don't want to go to your paradise?"scowl Sarah with a death look.
Rey snorted and forced him to take the cup and bring it to give it to her papa. He hadn't seen his face in a long time. Maybe what Vane said was right, he should start talking to his papa.

Rey opens the door and enters the library. Adam was immediately shocked when Rey who entered brought a teacup.
"Rey are you here?"
"Yes. Mamah told me to come here for dinner because Vane had a birthday yesterday" said Rey, who was sitting in front of her papa.
"really? Well, papah must meet with papah's son-in-law and congratulate him" Adam said enthusiastically.
"Well, can I ask you something?"
"Ask what you want to ask." Adam had prepared himself if Rey would ask him all the things he had been waiting for.
"Is family very important to you?"
"More than my own life."
"But why do papah busy themselves with papah business to forget the papah family?"
Adam took a deep breath and rested his back on the back of the chair.
"Do you know, when papah first came to Indonesia, papah was only a tourist who dared to fall in love with a noble daughter. "When papah returned there papah's parents died a few days after papah arrived in America. But they're so happy to have grandchildren like you."
Rey listened to Adam's story.
"Rey, papah knows papah's mistakes have been huge, and maybe you will never forgive. But you need to know, papah loves you more than his own life. Papah is too selfish selfish to forget about you and your mother. Papah apologizes Rey."
Now Adam could not hold back his tears that escaped wet his cheeks. He did not bother to tell the truth about the dark incident. Perhaps only death could have made Adam stop doing this. Rey got up from the chair and knelt before her papa.
"Well, actually I was disappointed with papah because papah was too busy with papah business. But after I found out the reason why Papah is a workah maniac is to maintain the reputation of papah in front of the family mama, I understand that. And now I understand why the mama family demands me to be someone with a reputation. Maybe if I were papah, I'd do the same" Rey said.
Rey finally knew what her papa was going through all this time. And now he feels like it all makes sense. Why since childhood he was not close to his mama family, and only Om Indro who cares about him. And Rey now feels there's a lot of weight bearing on her papa. He felt all of that when he was now tightly hugging his papa.

Sarah and Vane stared happily at each other as Rey embraced Adam as she walked towards the dining room. Even during occasional meals they do their joking. Sarah was relieved Rey could finally forgive her papa.
The clock shows at ten o'clock in the evening, and Rey bids her parents to go home. Rey walks with Adam to take Rey to the front of the house.
"Vane, I've never seen Rey this happy. And he can be happy like that thanks to you. I hope your relationship with Rey is permanent. Because I know you can keep Rey's heart."
That's what Sarah said before Vane actually forced herself to run into the car when Rey took her home. Vane doesn't think why all this has gone so far and made him feel lazy.
