Chapter 35

Vane took a week off after the reception to move items deemed essential from her home to Rey's. Vane and Rey hid their split-bed status from employees, as well as from artists represented by Mill Films and Mill Music except Reza, Pak Indro, Pak Seto.

Rey doesn't allow strangers to set foot on the third or fourth floors of her home. But they can't hide this from Rey's housekeeper who is tasked with cleaning every corner of the house. Even so, Rey believes that they will not expose this situation to the media, because like Mbok Nami, he said, the other servants have been with Rey since she was a child and their loyalty is very reliable.

His marriage to Rey has made him dizzy to go around. If Vane is allowed to vote, she would rather undergo a physical and logical test than have to face the millions of questions given by reporters at her wedding.

As if that was not enough to make him dizzy, he had to sign a thank you card to everyone who had given gifts. Some give a set of cutlery for 12 people, a set of bath products, to biscuit products.

But tonight the newlyweds' routine is a bit different, as neither of them plans to go out. Vane had just finished taking a shower and was drying her hair. When he heard the knocking of the door, Vane had just finished buttoning his pajamas.

Vane opened the door and found Mbok Nami in front of his room.

"Mba Vane awaited Mas Rey below" he said.

"Yes wait" answered Vane briefly, densely, and clearly.

Mbok Nami nodded enthusiastically, happy because of the existence of Vane that made him flowery to see the beautiful figure of Vane. Vane thinks what Rey wants with him these nights? Vane had a glance at the wall clock in his room that shows eight o'clock at night.

Rey is concentrating fully on delivering all the boats in front of her to their respective destinations safely so that no one collides. He received an iPad for a wedding gift from Reza and since then, he has been hooked on playing this 3D Harbor game on the iPad.

"Awww shit, shit, shit, SHIT. Stupid Boats!"he shouted quite loudly while stomping his two legs that protruded above the sofa.

In a state of behaving like a child who craves when not given a lollipop this Vane saw the figure of Rey. Vane laughed inwardly at the sight of her husband, who was usually cool and charming, now upset that he lost the game.

Rey realizes that there are now Vane and Mbok Nami and he immediately stops his ridiculous activities. Rey escaped her eyes seeing the appearance of Vane who used a long piayama in red and using sandals with a picture of doraemon.

Now Rey finds that a woman who is elegant and sexy when wearing a red evening dress a few months ago can look like that.

"Evening is ready. Hopefully you like roast duck" Rey said and led Vane to the dinner table.

Rey allows Vane to sit first on one of the seats before taking a 90-degree position from Vane. Vane noticed the food on the table, there was a plate full of roasted duck pieces, a bowl of soup, and two small bowls of steamed and tucked sambal.

"Is something wrong with the food?"tanya Rey is worried because currently Vane looks like a Masterchef judge who is assessing the cuisine of participants.

"Oh.no really" replied Vane as he picked up a piece of duck and moved it onto his plate.

Dinner at the table is something that is rare for Vane, usually at this hour he is struggling in the kitchen cooking dishes for clients. Vane often misses his dinner. The appearance of Mbok Nami who poured rice on his plate resuscitated his daydream.

"Is there something you want to talk to me about?"ask Vane.

"Huh?" Rey is confused.

"You're calling me down, of course there's something important to talk to me about, right?"continued Vane.

Then understanding appeared on Rey's face, "Oh, no. I'm calling you just for dinner. That's all."

"Oh." Rey's simple explanation leaves Vane confused looking for a reply. The dining room was quiet for a few minutes.

"I usually take my dinner before work. To concentrate more." Rey opened the conversation again after the silence.

"Do you usually have dinner at this time at home?"vane asked trying to figure out Rey's habits.

"It usually is. That you?"

Vane explained his irregular eating habits because he was busy working, but that does not mean Vane will forget his exercise habits.

"No wonder you're so skinny. From now on you have to eat more and more regularly, I don't want your family to think I'm an irresponsible husband who never feeds his wife."

"Just believe me, no matter how much food I eat, I still weigh under 50 kg."

"But why are your two sisters able to have a fertile body?"

"Because they're men, I'm different from women."

"I don't care, anyway from now on I'll ask Mbok Nami nyiapin breakfast and pack lunch for you. For dinner, are you okay with the eight o'clock schedule?"

"Rey, I'm not a kid. I can take care of my own food."

"Sure you can" said Rey cynically.

Vane puts a spoon and fork on the plate so he doesn't throw it in Rey's face before saying, "Rey, I'm not your employee, or your artists whose lives can be arranged as well as yours."

Rey could see that her words had already hurt Vane, "You're right. I'm sorry. I'm just worried about your health."

"You know what, I'm sorry. And I accept your breakfast, lunch, and dinner schedule. Thank you" said Vane as soon as possible.

Although Rey was a little disappointed by Vane's circus reaction but she nodded and gave Vane a little courage to change the subject.

"I did not accidentally hear your conversation with Mr Indro yesterday afternoon, if the schedule of launching songs for the soundtrack of your film is back on schedule for next month?"

Rey smiled to herself when her mother was right. Marrying Vane was the right choice, because ever since they announced their engagement, the media almost never associated themselves with Clara. Of course he has to thank Vane for saving his career.

Moreover, Vane always supports everything he does, plus he who has no possessive nature at all. But sometimes Vane looks careless and never notices Rey at all. Until Rey thinks Vane is not interested in him at all, considering himself the sexiest man in Indonesia.

"Yes, but I think I'm going to drop off to February, so I can all launch with my music vidionya. That way people will be more familiar later with the film that I will release" he explained.

"But isn't your movie soundtrack ready to launch?"

"Indeed, but when the launch date was pushed back, I decided to make some changes to the song."

Vane nodded in understanding, "Usually how many songs should there be in a movie?"tanyakanya.

"Depends on the film production. Usually one song is enough. But there are some movies that have additional soundtracks to match the moments in the film."

"Are you not sure what movie you're going to release?"

"So starting a film and music career, I always try to play with different genres and characters of different roles. And I always try the soundtrack to be more animated. And sometimes I'm not sure that people will be able to accept that."

"Rey, you already have two successful song albums, as well as dozens of movie titles that are selling in the market. I'm sure that what you produce will definitely be liked by society."

Rey did not expect that Vane was so trusting of her acting and musical talent that it made her want to show Vane her work.

"You want to hear my new movie soundtrack?"ask Rey a little carefully.

"Can you? Isn't that a secret?" Obviously Vane is surprised by this offer, but Rey is happy to see that Vane sounds interested.

"Originally you promise not to tell anyone about my songs before they launch next month."

"I promise" answered Vane happily because Rey wanted to share something that was clearly very personal to her.

"Take your food first" Rey ordered.

And Vane devoured the duck on his plate interspersed with cucumber with sambal terasi, before then finish the soup. Rey did not expect that a body as small as Vane could hold that much food. Moreover, the woman is a chef who must be very knowledgeable about table manner. But now what Rey sees is a woman who is not ashamed to enjoy her food until it runs out. And Rey really likes that.

After Vane brings all the dirty dishes to the dishwasher instead of waiting for Mbok Nami to do so and forces Rey to wipe the dining table clean, together they go to the studio.
