Chapter 34

After the reception, which was completed at exactly ten p.m., Vane was escorted by Sarah to her room, which was on the fourth floor. Sarah shows one of the bedrooms on the fourth floor that has been conjured into a bridal room. The room was located at the end of a long corridor, exactly 180 degrees from Rey's bedroom. When Sarah shows him this room, Vane instantly falls in love with the atmosphere. The arrangement of the room is exactly the same as Rey's room, but this room looks warmer with shades of white and light blue. On one wall Vane saw a series of black-and-white photos in a black frame neatly arranged. Vane realizes minutes later that the boy in each photo is Rey.

"This was Rey's playroom when she was a kid. He can play here for hours. Either with cars, robots, cooking..." Sarah did not continue her sentence, lost in her own memory.

"Rey likes cooking?"yanya Vane tried not to laugh out loud.

"Oh yeah. He asked his papa to buy him an Easy Bake Oven when he was eight years old and for a month he did not stop making chocolate chip cookies until finally everyone in this house never wanted to see the cake that's again" Sarah chuckled as she told her son's uniqueness, but then her face became sad as she continued her story.

"Rey is a quiet child and likes to be alone. He didn't have many friends because I limited him enough about the company. Especially when his papa was busy with his business abroad, he felt lost the affection of his papa. I know a child who does not receive enough affection will feel that he is not expected in this world. Rey always does everything she can to get her papa's attention. Various competitions he participated to attract the attention of his papa. Because her papa often can't come to accompany her in the race, Rey feels that whatever she does her papa will still ignore her."

Hearing Sarah's story that made Vane realize that there are other rows of figura in which there are several charter awards various competitions. And all of that in Rey's name. Vane did not think that her husband was really smart. But his intelligence was covered by the behavior of him who often courted famous models.

Now Sarah stood her back to Vane and then she said, "Even Rey told me to divorce her papa, because she didn't want to see me suffer for sticking with my husband. But I'm in love with my husband, and I don't want Rey to lose her father."

"Their relationship had improved when Rey's 17th birthday, his papa bought him a car that Rey had wanted for a long time. But then when Rey will graduate high school graduation, his papa who had promised to come in fact he could not come because he was still abroad. Plus when he was going to college Rey majored in papa law refused hard. But I managed to persuade Rey to move majors. Since then Rey has hated her papa so much, she doesn't really love her papa, like she loves me. I hope Rey can forgive her papa, because what my husband did was for her good."

Sarah turned her body and slowly walked towards Vane. He stopped in front of Vane and said, "I believe in you, if you can take good care of Rey. Only you can keep half of her heart with your sincerity." Vane said his mother-in-law had already disappeared from the room.

Vane breathed a rough breath when he again heard the story of the life tempest of his family-in-law. It is difficult to understand what makes Adam ignore Rey, because what Vane saw from the eyes of his father-in-law, he loved Rey very much. After the conversation with her mother-in-law was over, Vane saw Rey from another point of view. And what he saw made him want to be his friend, give support to him, even hug him if he felt sad.

Vane was pondering all that when he heard a subtle knock on the bedroom door.

"Come" yelled Vane.

The door opened and Rey turned her head, "Hey, I just want to check that you're okay" she said.

Vane turned her body to the door with a smile when she realized what Rey was doing, she tried to make sure that Vane did not run away after the reception, "I'm fine" Vane replied.

Then beyond Vane's suggestion, Rey stepped into the room and closed the door behind her. This makes Vane surprised because for weeks Rey seemed to try to avoid him like he was a rabid. Rey took off the suit and tie she wore a few hours ago at the reception, now he is wearing only black pants and a white shirt whose top three buttons have been removed and the sleeves of the shirt are folded up to the elbows.

"This room looks different" Rey said as she watched her surroundings.

"You're the one who's been focusing on it, with a little input from me" Vane replied as he looked around his room.

"What's your input?"

"I ask that your photos not be taken down." Vane pointed at the wall where the photos were located.

Rey walked towards the wall and for a few minutes she fell silent, looking at the photos one by one. Slowly Vane walked over to Rey.

"What age are you in this picture?"vane asked, pointing to a photo showing Rey sitting on a four-wheeled bicycle. Vane noticed Rey's slightly stiff body reaction when she heard her voice. Fearing that he was already standing too close, Vane took two steps away from him.

"Hhmm.that was when I was five. Papah just bought me my first bike for me. For months I didn't want to get off that bike."

Vane nodded. "If this one?" Vane points to another photo where Rey is grinning while showing her toothless tooth.

"Hehehe. That's when I just lost my teeth from falling off that bike. Instead of crying, I'm proud of the tooth's tooth decay." Rey laughed out loud and the sound of her laughter infected Vane.

"Shit, I was so fat when I was a kid" Rey said.

Vane laughed out loud at the comment. "But you're so funny that it's fat" Vane gets a weird look from Rey.

"i'm serious. I think that little kid is usually funnier when fat. You see we can pinch his cheeks and tickle his distended stomach" continued Vane.

"Did you get fat as a kid?"ask Rey.

"Actually. I'm the thinnest of my brothers."

"Even you're still skinny until now" Rey replied as she turned her face away and made Vane glare at her answer.

"This is when you graduated from college?"asked Vane while pointing to a photo of Rey who is already bigger wearing toga and flanked by papah and mama.

Now Vane feels that Rey was a sneak from his papa when Adam was young. Judging from the face of Adam used to be juxtaposed with Rey now is very similar.

"That was the first and last time papah came to the event that I participated in, papah could come to my college graduation event that was also because papah was in America. Maybe if papah is not in America again he will break the record of a father who never attended any event involving his son" Rey continued in a sad voice.

Vane just silently stared at Rey's answer. His voice sounded sad but the words he issued hinted that this man harbored a deep sense of disappointment.

This time Vane could not hold back any longer and she immediately hugged Rey, not caring that the man did not hug her back. Rey is her husband and the sadness that Rey feels, she can also feel. After a few minutes Vane let go of his embrace and looked at Rey.

"Why did you do that?"ask Rey.

Hearing her tone, Vane thought that she was already angry, but when Vane looked into her eyes, she saw that Rey was just surprised.

"I don't know. I just felt like you needed a hug" Vane replied, waiting for Rey to explode and saying that he wasn't a crybaby, but the explosion would never come.

Rey looked at Vane, the woman who is now officially his wife with a slight gasp. How Vane always does surprises, but whenever he gets close to her, he can make her lower her shield and before she realizes what happened, he had already revealed something that he had never told anyone else.

Rey realizes that she made a mistake by going into Vane's room, and she doesn't know that Vane is alone in the room, leaving her unable to escape. Want him back to feel a warm hug from Vane. But before all that happened, in the next second, the door of the room opened and Kak Bima bent her head. He seemed surprised to see Rey in the room with her sister.

"Eh, you don't know that you're here" she told Rey, then, "but it's good that you two need to talk to you. This is important" continued Bima and entered the room without permission again.

Rey and Vane immediately looked at each other with a bit of confusion and suspicion, but then Rey telepathically sent her eyes saying, "What do you think your sister wants to talk about?"

Vane replies with a telepathy that says, "I don't know either."

Bima noticed the interaction of the newlyweds in front of her and she knew that they were communicating with each other without making a sound, something that can usually only be done by two people who have known each other for years. Therefore he was quite surprised when he saw ink on Rey and Vane. It seemed like he had miscalculated about the inner chemistry they both had.

Finally instead of directly stating what he wanted to say, Bima instead paced several times in front of Vane and Rey who were now sitting on the sofa at the foot of the bed, without making a sound. When five minutes later his brother still has not stated his purpose.

Because, Bima still did not make a sound, and his behavior increasingly makes Vane resentful like a police patrol caught begal. Vane finally rebuked his brother.

"Sister, did you say there's something important to talk about?"

Bima stopped pacing back and forth and looked at Vane doubtfully before finally saying, "You know, I love you, right?"

"I know" answered Vane a little confused.

"And you know that you can always come to your sister anytime if you have a problem?"

"Yesa.."revenge Vane who is now beginning to be suspicious of the purpose of his brother's arrival.

"Because whatever you do, even if it's against the law. Brother will still support you."

"Okay, thanks..."

"So, is there something you want to share with brother?" When saying this Bima looked at Rey who was glaring when she realized that her brother-in-law was looking at her suspiciously.

"Something like what?"tanya Vane tries to save Rey by putting on an innocent face, but in her heart she has begun to worry that Kak Bima knows something about her marriage status with Rey.

Bima looked at her brother in disbelief because for the first time she found him lying and Vane never lied, "Where if we start with you just met Rey for the first time in April, starting dating in August, know that in September you recognize him to your family as your fiancee, the man who has been referred to as a man who is afraid to commit because he has never shown his desire to get married, who five months earlier was still dating another woman, he said, and the one after that was exposed to a rumor that almost ruined his career." Bima pointed at Rey when saying this.

Then he turned his gaze to Vane and said, "And you're not the kind of person who's willing to marry and live forever with the man you've been dating for a month."

Bima paused for a moment to read Vane and Rey's expression, she saw the two still showing innocent faces, she added, "Are you going to let brother mention one by one the things that make this marriage weird?"

Bima did not forget that the purpose of Vane to marry Rey is to carry out the mission. But Bima also could not deny that he was suspicious of the two people who were in front of him. Something that Vane may have purposely hidden from him and his family. Because Vane never sacrificed herself and her life just for a marriage that was used to launch her mission.

"Fine, it seems like big brother is just a waste of time talking to the two of you" said Bima annoyed and walked towards the door.

But one more step later, he turned his body around and said, "Rey, I don't know what you've said so Vane does what he's doing now, but I just want you to know that Vane comes from a big family who loves him, and we won't hesitate to make you miserable if you hurt Vane. Understood?"

Vane was ready to protest when he heard Rey say, "Goodbye, brother. I've promised to keep Vane, and I'll keep my promise."

Bima looked at Rey from the tip of her nose and Vane never saw Bima the crossbar, but then she nodded a sign that she accepted Rey's promise before she exited the room.
