Chapter 7: Disciple of the Outer Sect

The snake began to change its attack pattern after being hit by an attack. Instead of sliding towards Alex, he attacked his leg instead.

Alex did not know exactly how powerful the 3rd realm Muscle Tempering monster was, so he was worried about attacking and risked getting injured.

Alex also doesn't know if in the game it hurts, just like on the outside. They have told him that the developers want to make the game realistic, so there may be additional efforts to add realism to the game.

He kept trying to hit the snake, but the snake was too agile. He constantly braided and dodged his attacks while simultaneously carrying out attacks from time to time.

After a while, the snake targeted his neck and attacked him once again. Similar to the last time, he dodged the attack and struck the snake once more.

Thumped

The snake only got a small wound once again. Alex is worried. 'I don't have any ability. I should have waited until I got my class or anything equivalent to this game before coming here.' He thinks.

The snake was starting to be careful now. He does not attack any chance he gets again, but waits for the right moment.

Alex decided to do something. He doesn't care if he dies. It's a game, so he'll probably respawn somewhere.

Thinking that Alex took off his sword. He had never learned to use a sword, so doing it now was not the right choice. Instead, he would fight with his hands.

Seeing Alex turn away his sword, the snake must have thought it was his chance, and lunged at Alex. Seeing the snake jumping towards him, Alex immediately caught the snake with both hands, wrapped around his neck and began to strangle him.

The snake began to fidget because its head could not be moved. He wrapped his body around his hand to try to squeeze it, but to no avail.

After all, he was 3 realms higher than her. Alex put his hand to the ground and started stepping on the snake's head. After a few hard steps, he got a notification.

'Finally' thought. He pulled out his sword once more and looked at it. “This is a bad sword huh. Looks like I'm not too lucky.” He returned the sword.

He took the corpse of the snake and put it in his inventory as well. He then looked towards the flower.

If not for the feeling he had, he would not have been able to distinguish the flower from the surrounding flowers. The petals are 5, yellow in color, and very common.

He approached the flower and touched it. A name appeared on it.

[Lily Purifier Spirit]

'Woah,' he slowly plucked the flower from the plant and looked at it more closely. 'This must be a very good alchemy ingredient for me to get this incredible feeling.'

He quickly kept the item in his inventory. His supply was getting fuller, and he had to do something immediately.

He looked at the clock, and it was 6 and a half. He ran back to town. He did not bother to sell any animals today and keep them for tomorrow.

After he reached the tavern room, he logged out.

Alex got up from his bed and waited. Within minutes, the three roommates also woke up, and together they went to dinner.

After returning from dinner, the three returned to play. Alex did not do it. Tomorrow is the first day of university, and he's not used to playing all night.

So, she called her parents, talked for a while, accessed the internet for a while, then went to sleep.

He woke up around 7 a.m. Logan and Matt are awake, so they wait for Eric, and go for breakfast.

When he returned he saw time. It was about 7:20 in the morning. He remembered the person in the game asking him to come back tomorrow to check the result.

'Should I go play games now? Orientation starts at 11.' He turned to look at the other 3, but they were already in the game.

'Close, ' he said as he entered the game as well.

He arrived a little early and had to wait about 10 minutes until the results were announced. There are still many other young people who hope to get a chance. They were practically begging to enter the sect.

After the results were announced, there were many people around. Alex walked into the crowd to see the results.

The result is very simple. Those are just the numbers on the list. The number is the same as the number on each person's registration slip.

He did not remember the number so he took out a registration slip to look at it. After looking at the number, he started looking for the number 174 on the results sheet.

The numbers are written in ascending order, so it is very easy to find the numbers. Soon, Alex found him.

He looked around and saw some people walking towards someone, and showed their registration slip. He also approached them and asked, "Hello, I have passed the exam, what should I do now?"

The men asked for his registration slip, and after confirming the number, they sent it to another group of young men who had just graduated.

After about an hour and a half, about 27 people gathered in the group. These are the people who have passed the test.

The man who took the test yesterday walked up to them and introduced himself.

“My name is Lang Shun. You can call me Elder Lang.”

"Greetings, Elder Lang." Everyone greeted. Alex hurriedly greeted as well.

"Since you all have passed the test, you are now disciples of the Hong Wu Sect. Even though you are still an outer sect disciple, if you succeed in alchemy, you will be promoted to the inner sect. And who knows, you might even become core disciples."

Elder Lang continued, "In Hong Wu Sect, your cultivation is not important. Only your talent, knowledge and passion will get you ahead here. You may have true Qi, but if you are unable to form a mortal level pill, you will forever remain as an outer sect disciple."

He then turned around and advanced. “Follow me,” he said after walking a little forward.

They immediately followed the elder to a residential area in the mountains. Alex wondered if this was the house he could see from the gate.

The elder then assigned a cottage with one room to each of the 27 disciples. There were thousands of small huts in the mountains, so they had no problem assigning one to each hut.

The elder then took out 27 different small pockets, and in one wave handed them over to each bag. He then went on to explain.

"These bags contained 2 sets of sect attire, 1 handbook containing all the rules and regulations of the school, a map of the sect territory including the places that were forbidden to visit, and a map of the sect territory, and an introduction to alchemy book to help you get started. Read it when you have time."

Alex was shocked to hear his name. Still, he raised his hand and said, "I am called Yu Ming."

“Show me your registration card.” The old man asked.

Alex took out his registration card and handed it to the older one. After confirming that he was actually 'Yu Ming', the elder took out a strange-looking metal coin.

“Everyone except him, go, and go to your cottage.” He said firmly. After everyone left, he looked at Alex and handed over the metal coins he was holding.

"This is a library token, your reward for the test results. Take this to the library, and you can borrow 1 Earth class book or lower for free. Do it well." The older one then left.

Alex looked at the metal coin, and was confused, “Earth level or lower?” He doesn't know what he means. He walked to his cabin and closed the door.

He opened the bag he just got and was stunned. He was about to open up everything inside when he realized, he had completely forgotten something.

It's almost 10 in the morning now, and he has to leave. After all, this was the first day of the University.

He put everything back into the storage bag, including the library token. After everything was gone, he logged out.
