Chapter 21: The Alchemy Process

He realized that the information about the talisman was already in his head and he did not need the talisman anymore. So he put it back in the bag and looked at the other 12 ingredients.

As soon as he thought about the recipe, he somehow knew what ingredients he should put in, what time, and what temperature. The recipe even mentioned how to move the ingredients into the pot while doing alchemy.

“This is quite meticulous,” thought.

After a few minutes, the cauldron began to make a sound, indicating that the cauldron was ready for alchemy.

Kong Yuhan opened his eyes and took a deep breath.

“Are you ready junior sister, I'll start asking for the ingredients one after another?” She said.

"Yes" Alex answered with one word.

"All right then. Grass roots horns." She said.

Alex knew [The Grass Roots Horn] was the first ingredient and was ready for it. Without hesitation, he took out the Horn Root Grass and handed it to Kong Yuhan.

Kong Yuhan took the ingredient and put it in the cauldron. Alex wanted to see how he now followed the recipe and moved the ingredients throughout the cauldron for 2 minutes.

Kong Yuhan simply moved his right hand in a twisting motion without using anything to move the horn root grass.

‘He used his Qi to move his materials? It doesn't look like a technique. Does that mean one can usually use Qi to move things?' Alex needs to test this out as soon as possible.

But now is not the time. After nearly 2 minutes had passed, Alex took out the next ingredient, ready to hand it over to Kong Yuhan.

Kong Yuhan called out the name and picked up the material. He then put the material into the cauldron. This prompted a reaction from Alex.

'NO!!' he screamed in his heart. 'There are still 2 seconds left before the 2 minutes are over. He put it in too early.' But he did not express his opinion out loud as it could disturb Kong Yuhan's concentration.

He then gave her the next material, which looked like a withered leaf. Kong Yuhan raised the temperature of the flames and inserted the withered leaves.

'The fire is 10 degrees lower than it should be.' Alex once again found flaws in Kong Yuhan's process.

Similar things continued to happen in Kong Yuhan's process. Either he put the ingredients in too early, or late put them in. Sometimes the fire is not at the right temperature, other times the fire changes too slowly.

He took out the last remaining item from his bag, dwarf berries. Kong Yuhan was sweating, still concentrating on alchemy and ready to enter the final ingredient.

He stretched out his hand and asked for the berries. He waited for the right moment and put in the berries.

'She arranged the timing exactly this time.' Alex thinks. He then saw Kong Yuhan finally mixing his final ingredients into the cauldron.

All the ingredients had already lost their shape and were now turned into powder. The dwarf berry was also no different and soon turned into a powder.

Kong Yuhan used a pill formation technique and slowly fused the powder together to form a lump. He inserted Qi into the wisp to compress it slowly into a ball.

After a few minutes, he managed to form a ball from the clot, and thus managed to form a pill.

Kong Yuhan flicked his finger, and a small yellow pill flew out, into his hand. An incredible burst of medicinal fragrance followed the pill.

Kong Yuhan looked at the pill with wide eyes. He's very happy to succeed.

Alex was shocked to see the pills. He thought Kong Yuhan would fail, given the many mistakes he made during the alchemy process.

He focused his eyes on the little yellow pill. Suddenly a name appeared on the pill.

[Spirit Enhancer Pill]

He was unable to see any other information because he had no contact with the pill. He wanted to ask Kong Yuhan to allow him to touch the pill but decided not to.

He walked forward towards Kong Yuhan.

“Congratulations, Brother Kong. You managed to make the pill.”

“Oh thank you, junior sister. I'm skeptical enough to let you be a favor, but you helped me a lot.” Kong Yuhan said with a big smile on his face.

"With this pill, I can finally break through to the Meridian Tempering realm. It would help me a lot on my way to becoming a better alchemist. Perhaps it would even help me become a core disciple" Kong Yuhan began to chuckle.

“What are the requirements to become a Core disciple? If you don't mind I asked.” Alex is a little pushy.

"Oh. Similar to how you have to make 10 different mortal level pills to become an inner sect disciple, you have to make 20 different 20% harmony mortal level pills to become a core disciple." said Kong Yuhan.

"Oh. It looks pretty hard. Making 20 different pills that approach the quality of the earth must be a tough task" Alex said.

However, if you manage to concoct one Earth Level pill, the sect will immediately make you a core disciple. That was how Wan Li became a core disciple as well.” She said.

'Wan Li, that is the name of the first rank holder, right?' Alex thinks.

"Oh, then what is the current level of harmony of your little brother?" Alex asked.

"Ah, let me see." He focused on the pill for a while and said, "Well, this is definitely not an earth level pill. This was definitely still a mortal level pill. Let me check the exact numbers."

He then reached into his storage bag and took out a beaker with a metal plate on the bottom.
