Chapter 25: Selling Pills at a Loss

Alex walked out of the Alchemy Hall around 10 p.m. He had managed to make 8 mortal-level Qi Enhancement Pills.

Am I going to sell it now? Or should I register it in the disciple hall first? he paused for a moment to decide.

To take the test of becoming an inner sect disciple, the first requirement was 10 different mortal level pills. This meant he had to find 10 different recipes, and create a mortal value for each of them.

Once he made 10 different pills, he would be given the chance to become an inner sect disciple.

Yet he did not hear anyone talking about the exam to become an inner sect disciple.

After more than a second of contemplation, he decided to go to the disciple hall.

Walking along the way, he quickly reached the black-ranked stone. He hasn't come here since getting his nameplate on day one. When he saw his name back then, his name was ranked last.

Alex saw Now that the name was not in the last rank, He kept looking for the rank where, It didn't take long for him to find his name. However, his name is in the order of 4545.

Total names included in the list as many as 4883, He has passed 300+ students. Most of them were probably newcomers like him, but the fact that he got that ranking already made him happy.

He walked over to alchemy and checked his name there. But in this place, his name was in the last order. From what he could deduce, he did not possess any alchemy achievements at the moment.

He walked into the disciple hall and quickly queued up. When his turn arrived, he handed the mortal level pills to the inner sect disciples who worked there.

“I want to register this pill.” She said.

The student looked at the pill and used a pill testing tool to check its suitability. After confirming that this was indeed a mortal level pill, the disciple took out a medal and placed it on his forehead.

'Since the medal is also part of the sect's running formation, I wonder if he is examining something.' Alex interested.

The student was checking something. He was checking Alex's purchase history at the sect market. Anything bought and sold from the official stall where the elder lived was recorded in the formation of the running sect.

The student was checking if the pills Alex was carrying. This is a way to tell if alex is indeed making pills or not. Another thing he checked was the use of the pill room by Alex.

When he learns that Alex has actually purchased the item to make the pill the day before.

The student then handed back Alex's nameplate but kept the pills. Alex knew they kept the pills brought in for registration, which was why he decided to use the lowest tier pills.

After he finished, he came out and checked the Alchemy Achievement rank again.

His name somehow jumped from the 4800s to 4234.

Wow.Did that mean almost passing the 600 outer sect disciples.

Then he went to the sect market. He got there in less than 5 minutes. He queued up and waited for his turn at one of the sect stalls.

He walked over and took out the remaining 7 pills to sell.

“I want to sell this, Elder.” He said to the old man who worked at the stall.

The elder took out a pill bottle and examined the pills inside.

Once he confirmed that it was indeed a mortal level pill, he took out a pill testing tool and tested it.

12%,12%,12%,14%,15%,15%, and 16%.

The elder counted and said, "You can sell this for 226 points."

"226? But Elder, I bought 7 sets of ingredients for 420 points, so why would the pills sell for half the price of the ingredients?" he's confused.

"So, you want the point or not?" Said the old man

Alex sighed, and said, "Yes, right, Elder." He handed his signboard to the old man.

"You want to buy something?" the old man asked.

Alex wanted to do it, but he had his own idea of what he needed to do.

"No thanks." He refused the offer.

The elder handed back his signboard with 226 points. Alex got out of the market and walked along the night road.

She didn't need to be a maid anymore, because she could make her own pills. All he needed now were contribution points to purchase alchemy materials. And from his experience, the best way to earn contribution points was to sell monster corpses, cores, and materials.

So, his first plan was to go out and kill some monsters. And, in order to kill monsters easily and successfully, he needed to learn some fighting techniques.

Alex walked into the sect library. At the entrance, he showed his signboard to the elders present and walked in. He did not have many contribution points, so the best he could obtain was a low-level mortal-level technique.

Soon he discovered a sword-related technique called [Smiting Blade]. It cost only 200 contribution points, so he happily accepted it.

The mortal level technique cost between 100 and 1000 contribution points, while the highest earth level technique Alex had seen before was 4000 points. There may be some that cost more.

Alex had tried reading a book in the library but realized it could not be opened for a reason. So, he came out of the library with the book.

He handed it to the elder, the Elder handed it to him and reminded him to return the book in 7 days. Alex also returned the [Flame Mastery Scripture] at the same time, as he did not need it anymore.

He went to a quiet place and took out the book. Under the light of the lantern, he began to read it. He did not understand what the book actually said, but when he finished it, he got a notification.

He opened the description of his technique.

"Well, time to practice ." He said while looking at the description of his new technique.

He needed to find a place to practice this technique. And there was no better place for this in the sect than the training hall.

Alex found a training room some distance away. Although it was called a hall, it was merely a vast open field. He could see several dozen disciples training their fighting techniques.

Some shoot arrows, some use swords, some throw fire from their hands, some just run while doing strange movements.

All of these disciples were far apart from each other, so there was no way they could hinder each other's progress.

There were about a few hundred wooden poles in the field that signified the training ground. Alex walks into one of the outposts away from the student.

about a few meters away from him, the ground opened and a wooden puppet came out.

The puppet was where the disciples trained their techniques. Similar to the alchemy room, the training room also required 5 contribution points per hour.

He took out his steel sword and activated focus mode. After everything slowed down, he closed his eyes and tried to sense his Qi.

He thought of a new technique, and Qi started moving through his meridians. This was the first time, so it would take longer to complete the new technique.

His QI slowly moved throughout his body and reached his hand spreading from his palm to the sword hilt.

Qi felt difficulty in entering his hilt but finally managed to enter it.

Qi seemed to enter the sword hilt when Alex saw the color of the hilt turn slightly yellowish. The color then spread over the moving sword along its blade, and stopped at its tip.

His Qi had difficulty moving along the entire length of the sword but it finally succeeded. Now, the sword was shining with a light yellow color.

Now that he had successfully activated his [Smiting Blade] technique, it was time to test how good the technique was. He held the sword and cut the doll.

BAM!!!!

A huge wound appeared on the puppet.

He looked back at the wooden stake when a few words appeared there.

She smiles. His attack just now was equivalent to the normal attack of a cultivator of the First Realm of Tempering Bones. That meant his new battle technique increased his damage by 1 realm.

Adding to the fact that this 1 realm was a leap of the entire small realm, the battle technique returned its value to double. He decided to attack once more.

[8th Natural Muscle Forging]

"Huh? Why is my damage lower than my true cultivation base? What's going on?" he's very confused.

He tried to attack the doll with his bare hands.

[9th Natural Muscle Forging]

"wait. So I'm producing more damage with my fist compared to the sword?Garbage sword techni, what kind of thing I've learned all along."

Alex didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He took his sword once more. The puppets were part of the sect's running formation and had self-improvement techniques, so the condition returned to perfection again.
