Chapter 42: The Spiritual Sea

"Are you okay?" Ma Rong asked as soon as he entered.

Alex was a little confused by what he meant. So, he just replied, “Ya. I'm fine.”

"What are you doing sleeping in the yard? I'm worried you're sick or something." He said with a worried look on his face.

“Oh, uhh... I was cultivating last night, and definitely fell asleep outside, on the page,” he said.

'Berdevan. Does the Game not remove your character from the world when you log out?' he thinks. Until recently he assumed that whenever someone logged out of the game, the game would remove his body from the game so as not to obstruct anything else.

'I must not logout in a dangerous place from now on, ' he said inwardly.

“Sleep while cultivating? Why did you fall asleep while cultivating?” she asked.

"Huh? Didn't you fall asleep while cultivating? I never woke up while cultivating," he replied briefly.

Ma Rong looked at him as if he had just heard something so absurd. "What kind of cultivator falls asleep while cultivating? What if you were attacked while cultivating? What are you gonna do? Just dead?" she asked.

Alex thought for a moment and could not find an answer. 'That's right. What would I do if something life-threatening happened while I was cultivating? Will I wake up to the threat? Or will I just die?' His master's worries made sense.

He followed his master to the alchemy room in his home. There was no need to pay contribution points to use the alchemy room here.

He sat down on one side of the room and told her to sit on the other side. As soon as the two of them sat down, they were both on both sides of the fire.

He took out a cauldron and placed it on the fire. The cauldron was made of green material, with gold objects stuck on it.

"I promised to give you this cauldron, didn't I? This cauldron is called the 'Golden Jade Cauldron'. This cauldron was given to me by my master when I surpassed it in alchemy. It was a True Mortal Level cauldron, and starting today huh, it was yours." Ma Rong spoke with a hint of emotion in his voice.

"the sea? What is a spiritual sea?" She asked.

“If you really opened your spiritual senses, then you would have already opened up your spiritual sea. The Spiritual Sea is where your senses are. According to the records, the sea is in your mind that you can feel with your spiritual senses. The bigger your sea, the stronger the spiritual feeling." He explains.

Alex was silent for a moment. 'The sea? Do I have one?' he thinks. He quickly began to investigate himself with his spiritual feelings. He felt no resistance as he looked into his mind.

Somewhere in his head was a small bubble of spiritual energy. As soon as he saw what was inside, he saw a large yet calm sea with a few occasional waves. The sea looked a bit dry but kept returning to its original state.

"Yes, Teacher. There's something in my head. It was like a bubble of spiritual energy, and inside that bubble was a vast, ocean-like water." She said.

Ma Rong was surprised, "So you really opened up your spiritual awareness. That's-that's too fast." He looked at her like he was looking at a monster.

"But-but wait, you said you found a spirit cleansing lily? How do you choose the right one? Did you know that choosing the wrong flower will destroy the entire expanse of flowers?" she asked.

"Ah yes. I just found out which flower is right. I've picked 2 lilies now. One for myself, and another for Luo Mei of the Tiger sect, whom I met while hunting." She said.

"So you mean, you can pick the right flowers from the entire flower bed?" he asked once more. Alex just nodded. Ma Rong's eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement.

He suddenly stood up and walked out. He almost forgot about Alex for his excitement and left alone. He turned to look at Alex, who now had a curious expression on his face.

Ma Rong's eyes sparkled as he said, "Follow me. If you can really distinguish the spirit cleansing lily from ordinary lilies, then you have a task to accomplish."
