Chapter 40:

Alex is ready to attack again. He took out his sword and began to channel Qi throughout his body according to the Smiting Blade technique.

His Qi flowed into the sword with incredible speed. He was in a half-dead state when this first happened, so he did not have to bother to fully feel how it felt. But now that he had done it, it was truly incredible.

Feeling the Qi slide into the sword unhindered was a very relieving experience. After his blade was filled to the brim with his Qi, he moved.

The resulting punch sound was actually slower than the last time, yet he knew the damage was much higher. The penetration strength of the sword was much higher with this technique, so it was not enough to hit the wooden puppet to let out a lot of sounds.

Alex turned around to see the value of the damage.

'4 nature is higher?' he's surprised. “It was much higher than I expected.” He looked at the doll which had a deep and almost invisible incision ranging from his left shoulder to his right waist. It took a while for the doll to recover.

Now that he finished checking his damage with his new ‘’ sword, he decided to leave. But at that moment, he remembered. 'Wait, what about the other swords?'

He decided to check it out too. He opened his inventory to look at the new sword. Once he found her, he took her out.

BANG

As the sword left its inventory, it fell to the ground with a loud bang. This voice was bigger compared to when he first hit the puppet with his sword.

Fortunately, this was the Training room, so no one checked what had just happened.

The sword was inside the mother cat when she put it in her inventory, so she didn't see what it looked like and just the handle. Now that he saw the real sword, he was amazed.

Despite the sheer size of the hilt that gave the sword such an impression, the sword was actually tall, but it was a thin two-sided sword. There seemed to be some sort of mark or words on it at first glance, but if viewed more carefully, it was merely the texture of the metal itself.

The blade itself has a brownish color with a slight golden hue. Its cross guard was long enough for such a thin sword and was purely made of metal like silver. The handle was wrapped in red leather, probably from a high-level monster.

He slightly focused on his sword, and a panel appeared.

[Black Wood Corundum Stiletto

Value: Earth]

'That gave me nothing but its value, ' he thought. He examined the steel sword.

[Steel Sword: Smooth

Value: True Mortal

Weight: 10KG]

'Okay, the steel sword is giving some more information now. Is it because I perfected it?' he wonders. He tried to recall how the refinement actually happened.

'Didn't that say something about the sword that received my essence?' he thinks. 'But what is its essence? The point is, I've heard that word elsewhere.' He immediately opened his inventory.

There was an item there that he had obtained after killing that cat monster.

[Blood Essence?????????]

'So, does essence mean blood?' he wonders. He remembered that he had never experienced any bleeding in the game. The only time he did so was a fight against the wolves. So, if it was the right time when the sword was purified, then blood would be its essence.

'Do I have to hurt myself now?' he did not want to deliberately bleed. Still, he braced himself and cut off his fingertips. Blood started to pool over his finger.

He looked at his finger and was completely shocked. His fingers actually started to close a little. 'Is this because I am a cultivator?' he wonders.

He dropped the collected blood into the sword. A drop of blood fell onto his blade, but it just fell from the surface of his blade and fell to the ground below.

He was curious as to what had just happened, so he leaned over to pick up his sword. The sword is heavy. In fact, it was so heavy that he was unable to move even a centimeter.

'How could such a small sword, so heavy, ' he wondered. He tried a few more times but it didn't work. 'What if I try to put my Qi into it? Will it make things better?' he thinks.

He grabbed the hilt of his sword, and slowly started pouring out his Qi. The resistance he felt was enormous. The sword did not want his Qi at all and fiercely rejected it.

He started to use more power to enter Qi, and suddenly a huge energy started flowing into him from the sword. His body started to ache and he immediately stopped forcing Qi.

'If it's any longer, I'll be seriously injured.' He thinks. The sword strongly rejected his Qi to the point of almost injuring him in return. He looked at the sword with a hint of fear in his eyes.

'That sword is too strong for me right now. I should try again after my cultivation base is higher.' He thinks.

He wasn't here for more than 10 minutes, but the signboard still picked up 5 points. But he doesn't care. He took his nameplate and walked out of the training room.

Now that he could think of nothing else to do, he decided to return to his residence on the mountain of sect leader. No one stopped him this time, so the journey to his residence was smooth. As soon as he got home, he looked at the clock and realized it was time for dinner.

So, he's logged out.
