Chapter 14: The Fire Mastery Scriptures

[The Fire Mastery Bible

Value: Mortal (Growth)

Control the fire freely as you see fit.]

Alex reads the panel that appears in front of him. His own physical book only mentioned his techniques to be at the Mortal level. However, when he saw it through the system, it actually mentioned the growth element along with its value as well.

His technique had not progressed past level 1 so he still did not know what growth had actually happened to his technique, but if he saw how good [Alchemy God Knowledge] was, then, [Flame Mastery Scripture] would also be a great technique.

An hour had passed since he came in here. So, he took out the [Flame Mastery Scripture] and left the fourth floor. He soon reached the entrance of the library.

He went to an older person and said, "Elder, I want to take this with me." He brought the scripture forward and handed it to the elder.

The elder took the book and looked at it for a few seconds. She's surprised. He turned to Alex and asked, "Are you sure you want this? If you're running out of time, you can come back tomorrow to check more."

He had not expected Alex to actually bring out a Mortal level technique when he was free to choose any earth level technique.

"It's okay, Elder. I'm not running out of time. I choose to take it." Alex insisted on taking the book.

"All right then. I don't think this is a bad book. At least this is one of the best books in the Mortal class. Especially since you can use it in Alchemy and Battle." Said The Elder.

'I know that. So I can actually use it for both.' He thinks.

“Alright, give me your token, and your signboard.” Said the elder while extending his hand.

Alex opens his inventory and issues tokens and signage. He then handed it to the older one.

The elder took the nameplate to his head and closed his eyes. Then he took the talisman from somewhere and carried it to his forehead as well.

"alright. You can go now. I've recorded your information for today. You can have the book for a week. A week from now you must return the book in perfect condition."

“If you fail to return a book on time, you must pay 50 contribution points for each additional day You do not return it. And if you end up destroying the book, you'll have to pay contributions worth the book.'s points." The elder gave him a warning as he returned his signboard.

"Thank you, Elder" Alex walked out of the library towards the crowded streets of the sect valley.

"Hmmm.. Oh! It's almost 7. Well, have I been playing games for 3 hours?" Alex did not want to go back to his cottage because the distance was quite far and the journey was uphill.

"What happens if I get off the street?" he wanted to try it, but quickly rejected the idea.

He looked around to see if anyone was there, and as soon as he saw no one in sight, he logged out.

Alex got up from his bed and waited for the others to come out as well. After they all went out, they went to dinner and came back.

As soon as they return, they jump into bed and get into the game. Alex did not hesitate to do it either.

As soon as he enters, he finds himself in the same dark alley where he came out. He walked out of the alley on the main streets.

He opened the map and looked for something. He needed contribution points for everything in the sect, so he decided to earn points now.

According to the elders in the library, you can earn contribution points by performing missions given by the sect. So, he was now looking for the 'Contribution Hall' on the map.

He found it on the map. It was about a 5-minute walk from where he was, so he started walking in that direction.

The sky was dark now, and stars had appeared. The moon is also slightly above the horizon. The valley of the sect began to shine in a yellowish color with all the different lanterns they had taken out to illuminate the roads and buildings.

The night was as beautiful as the day, perhaps even more beautiful.

Even though night had arrived, somehow, the number of disciples on the streets was increasing compared to day. Finally, Alex arrived at Contribution Hall.

In front of him was a large building with a large corridor, crowded with disciples. The contribution hall also had 3 floors, separated for the outer sect, inner sect, and core disciples.

He walked into the large corridor of the donation room and found several boards hung on each side of the wall. Each with a text written on it.

Although the board looks like an ordinary wooden board, for some reason, it also has the same magical properties as the stone rank where the text also appears and disappears magically.

He started looking at the text and started reading it.

[Help Sweep the valley of the sect - 5 points]

[Buy food from the city - 3 points]

[Run duty to inner sect disciple Gu Zan - 7 points]

[Believe making.].

And so on and so on. There are thousands of menial tasks that one can do here to earn contribution points. Alex started checking everything.
