Alchemies
chapter 56

'Did I just learn a technique?' Alex was surprised by the sudden notice. He immediately opened the notification to see a description of the newly learned technique called 'Elemental Guidance'.

————

[Elemental Guidance: Level 1

Value: Earth (Max)

Level 1:

Unlocked: Able to control moving elements openly.]

————

‘Oh, Earth level engineering. But why is Max next to his class? Is it like growth? It also said Level 1 was open, but there seemed to be no signs of level 2. Strange technique,’ thought.

This technique made him quite curious. According to his technique, he was now able to control the elements while making pills. Or at least show a semblance of control.

He looked at the description of the technique once again and wondered if Max, not Growth, meant that this ability was already at the highest level. If that was the case then what was the point of telling someone that Level 1 had opened when it was the only one that could be used.

Ma Rong looked at his empty face and said, "It was an Earth Level technique called 'Element Guidance'. It's a simple technique that guides the elements inside the cauldron."

“Although you can guide those elements, that doesn't mean you can tell them what they do. It's like opening a small aqueduct near a river, and hoping for water to flow there.”

“The purpose of this technique is to keep as much elemental energy in the cauldron as possible, and not leak much. Plus, you are directing energy towards power, although that does not mean the powder will observe everything.”

“Stay only, you will lose quite a lot of energy because this technique has not been fully proven. However, you should be able to reduce losses significantly and increase the level of alignment of your Pill.”

"Learn this technique tomorrow, and I'll test how well you're doing. In addition, be sure to register at least 2 20% harmony pills at the end of the day."

Ma Rong left after saying this. Alex's lesson today wasn't as intense as yesterday. But at least that was enough to pay off.

This technique worked worse than a Qi-splitting pill that started at random. The pill that separated Qi controlled all the energy while this technique only guided him a little.

This technique also helped him in a way that he did not know that he needed it. As this technique kept the energy from escaping from the cauldron, each time the pills of both were formed inside the cauldron, the two pills also showed an enormous increase in harmony.

He went out for a while to get some food and came back to start making more pills. He still had over 80% of the original material. If he counted in units of materials, then he had less than 100 different sets of materials.

In addition to his set of ingredients, he also had many additional ingredients that could not be combined with any pills. He made a few more pills until it was past noon. Each of the pills was an actual Earth Level pill.

After he finished making the pills, he took the cauldron and began to purify it. It had only been a day, so he had a slight problem while pouring his Qi, so he did not bother to drop his blood. He would wait a few more days when his Qi would be easier to pour into the cauldron.

He walked out and saw clouds hanging in the sky. 'Will it finally rain today?' he thinks. He walked among the shadows down the mountain.

He decided not to register the pill for now, but rather when he had 20 pills at once.

He assumed the auction was over by now, so he went to the auction house to fetch the money. It took about half an hour to get there.

He climbed the stairs and a woman came to him. This woman was different from the woman who brought her in yesterday.

“The auction is already in session so entry is not allowed anymore now, please come back another week if you want to join the auction.” The woman spoke in a respectful tone.

"Oh, is the auction still going on? I thought it was done now. I came back to get my money. Do you know how long the auction is?" he asked the woman.

The woman was surprised to see someone so young selling something. But as soon as he saw the robe, he realized that he must be an alchemist from the Hong Wu sect.

“May I see a contract to verify your claim, Daois?” he spoke.

"The contract?.. oh the talisman. Here it is," he took out the talisman that the woman named Cai Ping gave him yesterday and handed it to the woman in front of him.

After he verified that he was actually a salesman, he took him to one of the rooms he saw inside.

"Please wait here. The final time of the auction usually varies depending on how many items are sold, but it won't last more than half an hour from now." Said the woman and bowed a little. He then walked out the door before Alex could even answer.

He had to wait more than 45 minutes inside the room before the door opened, and Cai Ping walked in.
