Alchemies

Alchemies
Chapter 46: Work

Ma Rong left the hall and returned to his mountain. The other elders had been informed of the decision and the disciples were told that they could request materials from the elders in one of the parks.

The elders usually keep a list of what they can find in the garden so they can pick it up later if needed. The students can also use the list as a sort of menu to order it using their contribution points.

Ma Rong soon reaches Alex's place on the mountain and searches for him.

'Did he come back or not?' he wonders.

He checked the house and found her asleep in one of the rooms. So he decided to leave her alone for now.

About 4 hours later, Alex opened his eyes. She has gone to her class and is back online now. He stood up and suddenly realized something, there was some kind of vibration from one of his storage bags.

He instinctively checked what was using his spiritual senses. He was a mental image of his signboard that slightly flickered with light as it shook within his storage bag.

'Well, can I check the items in my bag with spiritual feelings as well? So, I don't even need her inventory anymore,’ she thought. He thought of taking out the signboard, and suddenly the signboard came out by itself.

'I-do I not have to take it out myself? Did it come out as fast as I thought?' he tried more with a few more items and it turned out he was right.

He looked at his signboard to see why it was shining and realized that he could read his signboard with his spiritual senses. He learned some very important things with his senses.

The signboard read, "You are still an outer sect disciple, but you now have free access to whatever you want in the sect. Instead, you should gather the ingredients from the alchemy garden according to the list given by the elder at around 8. p.m. I'll continue your alchemical lessons tomorrow morning at 8 am. "

"Oh, I have a job right now?" he came out of his yard and walked down the valley. He thought about what he could do now that he had free access to everything.

There was so much he could do now, so he had trouble choosing what he could do. He thought for a while and walked over to the sect market.

He walked up to an elder and asked, "Hail elder, can I get all the recipes in this sect?"

Alex handed me his signboard. As soon as the elder scanned the signboard, he understood what he meant. “So you are the sect leader disciple huh. I didn't expect you to still be an outer sect disciple.” The elder was surprised, and he continued, “You don't need to buy recipes here. Since you have free access to everything, you can read recipes stored on the top floor of the library.”

“You can not get rid of it, like a normal technique, and must stay there and read. But, since you are allowed to stay there as long as you want, it is not a problem.” The elder explained to him a few things.

Alex thanks the older one and walks to the library. He had thought of learning some new techniques but ignored that thought now. First, he had to learn some recipes, then make some pills. It had been a long time since he had done anything related to alchemy.

He greeted the old man at the front door and walked straight to the 4th floor. He showed his signboard to an older person on the 6th floor. He knew his attention would be disturbed if he started to see his techniques now, so he rushed to the 9th floor.

He had to show his signboard once again on the 8th floor. Apparently, only the old man was allowed to be on the 9th floor, and there were no techniques there, only old records and pill recipes.

There are only 2 shelves on the top floor. One contained ordinary pages of paper containing very important or very old notes. The other shelves were filled with all kinds of pill recipes.

This is different from knowing instinctively what to use, and when to use it. It seemed like his memory power had increased by several times. He tried to think of what else he could remember, and realized, he was actually recalling all the things he had experienced from this morning until now.

He was really surprised. 'Do I have a eidetic memory now?' he wonders.

It took him about an hour to fully read every recipe there. There were about 200 recipes in the room. About 140 of them were ordinary pills and the rest were real pills.

Although he read through many recipes, once he reviewed them in his mind, he realized that most of them were actually just worse or better versions of the pill. Or they do the same thing but target different parts.

He spent more time there basically trying to learn what he had memorized. Her genius memories once again became very useful. With his spiritual sea already so large, he had no trouble understanding the alchemy process behind the recipe.

His master now gave him a task, gathering the ingredients in the alchemy garden, which he had to do every night, and it was time for that. So, at 6 p.m., he came out of the library and returned to his residence to logout.
