Chapter 24: one Step forward

"So how did you like the movie?" Hannah asked as she walked out of the cinema at about 5 p.m.

"Uh, pretty. I really like the twist at the end." Alex said as he walked out of the cinema.

Yesterday was Friday, so he played 'Eternal Cultivation' all day because he had no classes on Fridays to Sundays. When she woke up this morning, she received a message from Hannah asking her to go to the movies with her.

He and Hannah reach a fast food place, where they get food and sit down to eat.

"So, how do you like this town?" she asked.

Alex looked a little embarrassed as he replied, "Well, I've never visited this city at all. I spend my days playing games."

Hannah looked at him . "What game?" she asked.

“It was a VR game called Eternal Cultivation,”

"Oh, so you're playing that game too?" Hannah's Speech

"Also? You play it too, brother?" Alex said

"of course. Everybody played it. How do you buy a helmet? Did you lie to your parents for money?" Hana said slightly frowning

"Oh, no-no. One of my roommates had an extra helmet, so he gave me one to wear for a while." said Alek while telling Hannah the truth

“If it's true, then good. When did you start playing?”

“I think it was a week ago. I started playing on the night I came to the dormitory.” said alek

“Where are you in the game? What are you doing now?” hana asked.

“I am studying alchemy now, in Hong Wu.” sect He answers.

“Oh, are you studying alchemy? If you make a good pill, remember to send me some, hahahah” Hannah laughed as she said that.

He wasn't sure if she was joking or not but he still agreed.

After half an hour, he returned to the dorm room. He wanted to get back into the game but decided otherwise. He rested for a while until dinner, after which he just returned to play.

Alex opened his eyes as usual,

He works to help students make pills until 12 p.m. After that, he would return to his hut, and practice Qi manipulation and Fire Mastery. Once he ran out of Qi, he would cultivate.

It is currently getting harder and harder to cultivate for longer every night. After turning into Yang Qi, his Qi amount increased slightly and did not require much Qi to perform the same task.

He stood up and walked out. After working on helping out for the past few days, he had to learn about 10 pill recipes.

Out of those 10 recipes There were qi boosting recipes, some curing pills, and breakthrough pills.

Currently, he had earned around 450 contribution points. So, he finally decided to make a pill for himself. At night, outer sect disciples were allowed to study alchemy.

The pill that will be made is the [Qi Enhancement Pill]. He had read the recipe from one of the inner sect disciples and found that the ingredients were very easy to obtain and did not cost much.

He bought 7 sets of materials, and they cost 420 points.

He reached the Alchemy Hall and saw the outer sect disciples gathered to work as a favor. For some reason, he felt he did not need any help, and went straight in.

He had about 20 points left, so he could only use the room for at most 4 hours. The remaining 10 points he spent on buying bottles stored pills.

He went into the room and closed the door. She's nervous. He walked to the cauldron and sat cross-legged beside her.

He opened his inventory and put his panel to the side. This was the reason he thought he didn't need help. He simply ordered the ingredients in the inventory and took them out one by one as needed.

Its concentration is now divided into 3 parts. Although his inventory did not require too much attention, the fire and materials inside the cauldron definitely required it.

He now had to lower the fire to 800 Celsius, put in the second material, move it for 4 seconds, and then raise the fire to 1500 Celsius.

He tried to do that. He put his Qi into the fire to lower his temperature, eventually lowering the temperature too quickly.

He took out a second ingredient, and put it in the cauldron. But, the moment he took out the second material, he forgot to move the first material.

It was a very small mistake, but still it was a mistake. Similar things kept happening during the pill making process.

By the time he inserted the final ingredient, he used his Qi to slowly mold it into a spherical shape and condense it into a pill.

After finally making it into a pill, he took it out of the cauldron. When he saw the pill, he sighed.

Ding!!

His first attempt at alchemy ended in failure.

Alex tried again,

He once again took a deep breath and put in the first ingredient. He used his Qi to move it, He lowered his heat to 800 Celsius but made sure not to do it too quickly.

Even though he didn't get the timing right, it was still much better than the first time. He took out a second ingredient and put it in, while continuously monitoring the first ingredient.

After a while, he raised the flames to 1500 Celsius. He followed his recipe and did as he was asked.along with constantly remembering what he had to do next was too difficult for him.

He began to lose focus over time. However, this time round went better than before. Finally, after all the ingredients were inside the cauldron, and the whole thing turned into powder, it began to condense it and become a pill

He took out a successfully formed pill and held it in his hand.

Ding!!

Alex rested for a while. Although alchemy was not physically taxing, it was mentally draining.

Suddenly, Alex thought of something.

"Wait, how about I slow down time? Wouldn't that lessen the burden of my mind?" he thinks it's a brilliant idea. He decided to try it.

He slowed down the time and started to put in the ingredients. As soon as he put in the first ingredient, he realized that he made a mistake. Since he was now in focus mode, time became slow. But, he did not know how slow he had to move the ingredients because he did not know how slow the time was. He had no clock to look at.

He had already put in the ingredients so, he decided to follow up. Since he could not keep up with the time as per the prescribed recipe, he decided to use his instinct.

Finally, after a while, he managed to condense the ingredients into a pill. He took the pill nervously, because he didn't know how it would turn out.

Ding!!

[Qi Increase Pill: 10%]

He has succeeded. But this was still a long way off to reach the mortal level. He managed to successfully concoct a pill, albeit in focus mode.

After a short break, he started again.

This time he managed to create a 12% harmony pill%. He became better at making pills with Focus activated mode.

After a short break, he started his 5th set of materials.

He followed the same technique to the end when suddenly something happened within him that shocked him. As he began to condense his pills, the Qi within his body began to move.

Similar to when he activated the Flame Mastery Scripture, they moved into a certain pathway through his meridians. This path was different from the one activated by the Flamer Mastery Scripture.

As soon as the Qi moved throughout his body, he reached his hand and spread from it.

He slowly guided Qi to enter the cauldron and divided it into 2 parts. The two parts of Qi started to condense the pills into 2 separate.

And as a result, they turned into the same 2 pills. Alex was amazed at what had just happened.

the path that Qi took through his body was the first one to be used. He only had 2 techniques until now. Because this is not the path of the [Flame Mastery Scripture]…

"Could it be the [Knowledge of the Alchemy God]?" he wonders. He quickly opened his technique to check the description and realized what had happened.

With a Level 1 [Alchemy God Knowledge], he had a 50% chance of making an additional pill. The opportunity was just activated. Alex was both surprised and delighted to learn that he could make 2 pills from a set of ingredients.

He took out the two newly formed pills and examined them.

Ding!!

"Wow! It was the best pill I've ever made." She's surprised. He turned his attention to the other pill in his hand.

This is the same pill as the first pill. “Will the level of alignment between the two pills always be the same when the 50% chance is activated?” he wonders.

He immediately got the answer. After a short break he started again and got 2 pills. One is 12% aligned, and the other 14%. He didn't know why it happened, but he was happy to know it.

He started with the last pill and managed to make it. The last pill came out 16%. He's very happy to see it.

Seeing that all of his materials were exhausted, he walked to the door and took out his signboard.15 points were taken from the signboard, meaning that he had already been here for 3 hours, making pills.

After he made sure all the pills were in the bottle, he came out.
