ACTS OF APOSTLE
chapter 4

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلَى آلِ مُحَمد

*Del Abdul Muttalib's News*

After growing up, Abdul Muttalib became a ruler of Mecca as Hashim, his father.

At that time, when Hashim died, his property was controlled by Naufal, his smallest brother.

When he grew up, Abdul-Muttalib wanted to ask for his father's property, but Naufal refused. Abdul-Muttalib asked for help from relatives of his mother who lived in Yathrib. The men of Yathrib sent 80 horsemen. Naufal was terrified and handed over the Hasyim to Abdul-Muttalib

During his reign, Abdul Muttalib performed an act that people will remember throughout the ages.

*Mecca Water Source*

Abdul-Muttalib was the steward of water and food for the guests who came to Mecca. After hundreds of years of the Zamzam Well, water had to be brought in from several scattered wells around Mecca.

*DIGGING THE WELL ZAMZAM*

At that time, the Zamzam Well had been buried and forgotten for hundreds of years. However, Abdul Muttalib never forgot in the history of Mecca, that there used to be a fountain that fed Mecca, a spring that gushed out by the feet of Ishmael.

"I have to find him!" abdul Muttalib. "I must rediscover the Well of Zamzam that people have forgotten! Moreover, I am in charge of providing water and food for the people of Mecca."

Such a thought never disappeared from his mind, "I must find it! I have to find him!"

Afterwards, Abdul-Muttalib took the pottery (a tool for digging long-stemmed) and called his only son, "Harith, accompany the father in searching and digging back the Well of Zamzam!"

Harits nodded. Then, they began to look for where the Zamzam Spring used to be. After several attempts at digging in several places, the Zamzam Well was not found.

"Father, perhaps the Well of Zamzam has indeed been lost," said Harith.

"No son, I'm sure the well is still there! We have to find him! The Meccans would have lived better if the Well of Zamzam was in our midst!"

They continued to search for the Zam-Zam well.

The people of Quraysh, the natives of Mecca, saw their deeds in wonder.

"Why are you still digging, Abdul Muttalib? Didn't our ancestor, Mudzaz bin Amr, dig it, but it didn't work?"

Abdul Muttalib put the pot and sat down.

Yes, hundreds of years ago Mudzaz bin Amr in-laws of Prophet Ismail ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ''''''''t tried to excavate Zamzamzam but to no avail.

In fact, at that time Mudzaz had offered offerings in the form of swords and saddles with gold roots so that the Well of Zamzam was found.

*Bernadzar*

Abdul-Muttalib bernadzar, "If only I had 10 sons, then when all were grown, I would have no more children as I was digging the Well of Zamzam, then one of the 10 children will be slaughtered in the Kaaba as a sacrifice to the Lord."

"I once vowed to slaughter one of you if God gave me 10 sons."

All ten of his sons fell silent. They understand the question. They also saw a tremendous confusion in their father's teary eyes.

"However, I can't determine which of you I should kill. Therefore, I intend to call a qidh interpreter to determine."

In the presence of the supreme god statue of the Kaaba, the qidh scribe (arrow) asked each child to write his own name on the qidh. Then, he shuffled the arrow in front of Hubal's idol. The name of the child who came out was Abdullah.

Seeing this, the Quraysh came and forbade him from doing the deed.

"Cancel your wish, Abdul Muttalib! Please forgive Hubal so that you can abort your nadzar!"

Can Abdul Muttalib slaughter his beloved son, let alone no one who approves of his intention?

*Finding Zamzam*

At night, tired, Abdul-Muttalib fell asleep. Suddenly, in his sleep, he dreamed of hearing a voice that reverberated over and over, "Find the Well of Zamzam, O Abdul Muttalib! Find the Zamzam Well! Find it!"

Abdul Muttalib awoke with new faith and new spirit. The next day, he invited Harith to dig and dig harder.

The astonishment of the Quraysh who saw him turned to laughter.

"Pity Abdul Muttalib, he may have lost his mind!" they said to each other.

Once, while they were digging between the idols of Isaf and Na'ila, water was purified.

"Water! Hariths! Look, there's water!" abdul Muttalib was shocked.

"Let's dig it up, Dad! Let's dig it up!"

As they dug deeper, they saw the golden swords and saddles that Mudzaz bin Amr had put down. Seeing the discovery, the Quraysh came in droves.

"Abdul Muttalib, let's share the water and the golden treasure!" pinta them.

"No! But let us pit fate between me and you with the game _qidh_ (arrow). Two arrows for the Kaaba, two for me, and two for you. If the arrow comes out, he gets the part. Otherwise, he gets nothing."

This proposal was approved. The Qidhite elected him in the midst of idols in front of the Kaaba. As it turned out, no arrow of Quraysh came out. The winners were Abdul Muttalib and Ka'bah. Therefore, Abdul-Muttalib could continue his duties of taking care of the water and the needs of the guests of Mecca after the Well of Zamzam radiated back.

Given the weight of the task. Abdul-Muttalib was eager for him to have many boys who could help him.

*Golden Sword and Saddle*

Abdul Muttalib put the swords on the door of the Kaaba, while the golden saddles were placed in the holy house as jewelry.
