ACTS OF APOSTLE
chapter 12

*Meet Grandpa and Mother*

Not long after, there came a man named Waraqah ibn Naufal and a friend of his from Quraysh. Both gave Muhammad to Abdul Muttalib,

"This is your son, we found him in Upper Mecca."

How happy and relieved Abdul Muttalib.

"My grandchildren!" he said while holding Muhammad.

Abdul Muttalib watched his grandson with a beaming face, "Do you want grandfather to ride a great camel?"

"Now. But where's the cake?"

Laughing, the old man lifted Muhammad up and sat him on his shoulders.

"You've now occupied the camel, boy! Ha...ha...a...."

"Well, the great camel is old, is it?"

"Dark wild, but this is a great camel, my granddaughter! See this camel is able to invite you to fuss around the Kaaba."

Abdul-Muttalib brought Muhammad to the Kaaba. After that he asked God for protection for his grandson and prayed for him.

"Let's go see your mother now" Abdul Muttalib asked.

How happy the child and the mother were when they met each other. However, there was sadness in Muhammad's heart when he released Halimah As Sa'diyah, the mother of milk who had been caring for him with such a great abundance of love.

"Goodbye to Muhammad. Be a great man as your mother once said" said Halimah as she left.

Until adulthood, Muhammad never broke the friendship rope with his mother.

*Goat Shepherd*

Starting from his life in Bani Sa'ad until his childhood in Mecca, the life of Prophet Muhammad passed as a shepherd.

*Waraqah ibn Naufal*

Waraqah ibn Naufal was Khodijah's uncle

(later to be Muhammad's wife).

Waraqah ibn Naufal did not like idols. He continued to follow the teachings of Abraham and Ishmael, becoming a faithful servant of God.

He does not drink and does not gamble. He was generous to the poor who needed his help.

Since then, Abdul Muttalib has acted as his granddaughter's nanny. He took Muhammad seriously and poured out all his affection.

Abdul-Muttalib was the leader of all Quraysh and all of Mecca. For him, a special expanse was placed where he sat under the shade of the Kaaba. His sons, Muhammad's uncles, no one dared to sit there. They sat around the expanse as a tribute to their father.

One time, the plump little Muhammad sat on the bed. At once his uncles immediately held and detained Muhammad so as not to sit on the expanse. However, when Abdul Muttalib came and saw the incident, he said:

"Let my son be," he said, "By Allah, he shall have a great position."

Then, Abdul Muttalib sat on the expanse holding Muhammad. Muhammad's back was full of love. Abdul-Muttalib rejoiced at what his grandson did.

Moreover, his grandfather's love for his grandson arose when Aminah then intended to bring Muhammad to Yathrib to be introduced to his mother's brothers from the Najjar family.

This trip also aims to see the tomb of Abdullah, Muhammad's father. Aminah has long harbored the desire to see the tomb of her beloved husband. Now he will go with the company of his son.

*Western Confirmation*

On the way, Aminah brought Umm Aiman, the slave girl of Abdullah's heritage. Arriving at Yathrib, they were greeted by the brothers of Aminah. Muhammad was shown the house where his father died and where he was buried.

It was the first time Muhammad really felt himself as an orphan. Moreover, he heard his mother tell a long story about his beloved father who after some time living together, then died.

(In later days, after the hijrah, once also the Prophet told his friends about the story of his childhood journey to Yathrib which at that time had changed its name to Medina.

He is deeply remembered for his journey with his mother, the story of his loving journey to Medina, the sorrowful story of the man his family left behind.)

After a month of living in Medina, they prepared to go home. They walked on two camels they had brought from Mecca.

However, on the way, in a place called Abwa*), Aminah was ill and died there.

"Mother! Mama!" call Muhammad to his dead mother.

In the arms of Umm Aiman, with tears melting, Muhammad watched his mother's body buried in that place.

At the age of six. Muhammad SAW has become an orphan.
