*Utbah bin Rabi'ah offer*
"My chest tightened to see Muhammad and his followers!" shouted a ruler of Quraysh. "Every day they get stronger!" the other growled. "All our disturbances and torments seem to have no effect. Very surprising!" the other grumbled his head.
As the atmosphere grew hot, Utbah bin Rabi'ah stood up. Everyone looked at him and waited.
"If the path of violence does not bear fruit, it is time that we try another way, " Utbah bin Rabi'ah said.
His voice was slow and calm.
"If you agree, I will talk to Muhammad and offer him some interesting things. Do you agree?"
After a moment of silence, the Quraysh finally agreed.
"Try to carry out your proposal! We are willing to give Muhammad anything to silence!" they say.
Utbah ibn Rabi'ah also met the Prophet.
"My son," he said softly,
"you are an honorable man. But now, you bring about such a great problem that our society is scattered. Now listen, we offer you some things, maybe some of them you can accept. My son, if all you want is treasure, we are ready to gather and give away our treasure so that you will become the richest man. If you want a position, we will appoint you as our leader so that we will not make a decision without your consent. If you want to be king, we will make you our king. If you are attacked by a disease that you cannot heal yourself, we will pay for its treatment with our property until you are healed."
The Prophet was silent for a moment. Utbah bin Rabi'ah felt the flowering word evaporate without a trace into the air.
*Fushilat* Letter*
The Prophet then read the verses of the Qur'an Surat Fushilat starting from the first verse:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Merciful.
(1). حم
Haa Miim's. (Haa Miim) God alone knows the meaning and the meaning.
The book which his verses describe, the reading in Arabic, for the people who know,
(4). بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا فَأَعْرَضَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
who bring glad tidings and who bring warnings, but most of them turn away (from it); then they do not (want) listen.
They said: "Our heart is in the cover (which covers) what you call us to him and in our ears there is a blockage and between us and you there is a wall, he said, so do it (as you will); we will do (as we will)".
The Prophet continued to recite his further verses, which speak of the Messenger of Allah as only a warner, of firm mountains, of the creation of the heavens and their seven layers, of the torment of the thunder that befell the Thamud, the fate of the disbelievers who reject the revelation of Allah.
The verses charmed Utbah so much that he forgot what he offered to the Prophet. His heart drifted, dissolved, and...
"Enough Muhammad. That's enough!" exclamation Utbah. He was silent for a moment, then asked again,
"Can you answer anything other than what you have read?"
"No".
Utbah.
"So this is Muhammad" he thought.
"This man is not a man who wants to have mountains of property, position, kingdom, and not at all sick people. He was just a man who wanted to keep his job very well and he said the word miracle..."
Thus, Utbah bin Rabi'ah returned empty-handed. The princes of Quraysh were disappointed that the Prophet
refuse their offer. Later, the persecution and torture of the Muslims continued and grew more violent.
