*Shalat*
Prayer is one of the first worship that Allah taught to the Prophet. Once, when the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ and Khadijah was praying, there came Ali ibn Abu Talib. Ali, who was still a child, was stunned to see the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ and Khadijah ruk, prostrate, and read the verses of the Qur'an.
"Who are you bowing down to?" ali asked when the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ and Khadijah finished praying.
"We bow down to Allah" replied the Prophet, "God has sent me and commanded me to invite people to worship Allah."
Then, the Messenger of Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) invited his cousin to worship Allah and to abandon idols such as Lata and Uzza. The Prophet also recited some verses of the Qur'an that made Ali ibn Abu Talib fascinated because they were so beautiful.
Ali asked for time to negotiate with her father first. That night, Ali was agitated.
The next day, he told the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ and Khadijah that he would follow them both, and that he would not have to ask the opinion of his father, Abu Talib.
"God made me without me to negotiate first with Abu Talib," said Ali, "what use should I confer with him to worship God?"
So, *Ali* was the first child to embrace Islam. Then, *Zaid bin Harithah*, the former slave who followed the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , converted to Islam as well.
Until then, Islam was still confined to the family of the Prophet: his wife, his cousin, as well as the former slaves who followed him. What should he do to spread Islam more widely? He knew very well how hard and how powerful the Quraysh people worshipped the idols inherited from their ancestors.
However, this Islam must be spread, no matter how fierce the resistance of the people.
*Abu Bakr Islam*
Abu Bakr ibn Abu Quhafa of the tribe of Taim was a close friend of the Prophet's brother ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ The Messenger of Allah. The Prophet liked his friend very much because Abu Bakr was clean, honest, and trustworthy.
One day, Abu Bakr heard a rumor about the Prophet. He immediately went out to find his best friend. When they met, Abu Bakr asked the Prophet,
"O Abu Qasim (one of the Messengers' calls), what is wrong with you? Now you are no longer seen in the assembly of your people and I hear the people accusing you of saying bad things about your ancestors and much more that they say."
"Truly, I am the messenger of Allah" said the Prophet,
"God sent me to deliver His message. Now, I invite you to the religion of God with true conviction. By Allah, what I tell you is the truth. O Abu Bakr, I invite you to worship the Most Merciful God, whom He has no ally, and worship none but Him, and you will obey Him forever."
The Messenger of Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ The Qur'an. After the Prophet spoke, Abu Bakr immediately embraced Islam. Looking at the Islam of his friend, the Prophet was very happy. There was no one among the two mountains of Mecca whose joy exceeded the joy of the Prophet.
In a short time, Uthman ibn Affan, Thalhah ibn Ubaidillah, Zubair ibn Awwam, and Sa'ad ibn Abu Waqash also met the Prophet and converted to Islam.
*Keislaman Uthman ibn Affan*
Uthman ibn Affan himself said of his Islam:
"I came to my aunt Urwah bint Abdul Muttalib to see him because he was sick. Not long after, the Prophet of Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ came to that place as well and I noticed him. At that time, his greatness was clear. He came up to me and said,
"O Uthman, why are you watching me so?"
"I replied, 'I am amazed by you and your position among us. I'm also amazed at what people talk about you."
Uthman continued, "Then, the Prophet uttered the phrase 'Laa ilaha illallah'. By Allah, hearing that sentence, I immediately shook. Then, the Prophet read a verse,
"And in the heavens there is (for reasons) your provision and what is promised to you. Therefore, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, verily, what is promised shall be as ye have said."
(Adz Dzariyat, 51:22-23).
Then, the Prophet stood up and went out. I followed him from behind. Then, I went to him and I converted to Islam."
*Sacrifice of a Wife*
Khadijah, who was from the Makkah nobility, was well aware that her husband would be hated by the infidels. She fought on her husband's side, chose Islam, and became her first follower.
Khadijah changed all his possessions to Islamic glory which he never enjoyed.
