*Defend the Light*
The next day, Umar recalled who was most hostile to the Prophet. The answer was immediately found, "Abu Jahal!" Without wasting any time, Umar went to knock on the door of Abu Jahl's house. Abu Jahl came out and welcomed Umar,
"Welcome, my nephew! What news do you bring?"
"I have come to tell you that I have believed the teachings of Muhammad!"
Abu Jahl's face was pale. While slamming the door, he exclaimed loudly,
"Hopefully god curses you. How bad is the news you brought!"
Not stopping there, along the way, Umar told everyone that he had embraced Islam.
After that, Umar went to the Kaaba and declared his Islam. The fear of hatred grew in the hearts of the disbelievers of Quraysh.
After converting to Islam, Umar asked,
"O Messenger of Allah, are we not above the truth of death or life?"
When the Prophet confirmed it, Umar asked the Prophet and the Muslims to come out openly. The Prophet agreed to that. He and his people went out to the streets of Mecca in two rows to the Grand Mosque. The right-hand row of the Prophet was led by Hamzah and the left-hand row was led by Umar bin Khattab.
Since then Umar has been called Al Faruq (the difference between truth and evil).
*Islam Teaches Kindness*
Islam then became a hot topic of discussion in the city of Mecca. The curious kept asking his Muslim friend. Meanwhile, those who hate incessantly vilify this religion.
"What does this new religion teach? Tell me, buddy. Let me understand why it is so easy for you to abandon the religion of our ancestors" said someone to his best friend.
"You know that my life is very difficult" replied his Muslim friend,
"every time I see rich people riding special horses, wearing luxurious clothes, and entering a magnificent house, I ask, what exactly did God create me for? I can't enjoy life except working hard to eat everyday. I don't know when I die where I'm going. It's hard to be such a precious and noble person."
The Muslim looked over and saw his friend's face looked solemn.
"But then, Islam came and taught that glory lies not in our heaps of gold and silver, but in as much good as we have done. Islam does not prohibit trade and the rich, but it teaches that the value of love, brotherhood, help, and togetherness is far above the value of a pile of treasures.
You know, after the coming of Islam, I felt more meaningful than ever before."
The friend nodded.
"Islam introduces me to who is the Creator of nature worthy of worship: not an idol that cannot be anything, but Allah.
Through the Messenger of Allah, Allah sends down His words for us. Listen to the following few verses. You will know that no poet can match the beauty of his language let alone the truth of its content."
Then, some verses of the Qur'an flowed from the mouth of the Muslim and directly penetrated the heart of his friend who is now getting late and getting closer to the truth.
*Enemy Testimony*
Not even the enemies of the Prophet can deny the honesty of the Prophet.
Tirmidhi narrated from Ali ibn Abu Talib that Abu Jahl once said to the Prophet,
"We do not deny you, but we deny what you bring."
*Quraisy Notes*
What happened to the Muslims who emigrated to Habash.
"We can't let them take refuge in Habasyah!" Called someone the ruler of Quraysh.
"With the protection given by King Najasyi, I fear that they will grow stronger and harm us!"
"Send a messenger to Najasyi!" Greet the other dignitaries, please,
"persuade him, say whatever he can to bring back the followers of Muhammad!"
Amr ibn Ash and Abdullah ibn Abi Rabi'ah were sent to meet the King of Habash, Najasyi. Arriving at Habash, they offered precious gifts to the king and his princes.
"Our king" they said, "the Muslims who come to this land are our shameless slaves. They left their religion and did not follow their religion. They brought their own self-created religion that we did not know nor did His Majesty. We were sent to the Highness by the leaders of their communities, by their parents, their uncles, and their own families, so that the Highness would return them to us. We know better how those people defile and curse our gods.
In fact, the two envoys had bribed the court magnates to help convince the king. However, Najasyi was a wise king. He was completely unaffected by the gifts that the two Quraishishi envoys brought. He did not want to drive the Muslims back before he heard for himself what reason they had left Mecca.
"Bring those refugees in front of me!" Najasyi's orders.
All the Muslims faced, the King asked, What religion is it that makes Gentlemen leave the people of the Master, but neither do the Gentlemen adhere to my religion or any other religion?"
