When Love Only Remains a Name

When Love Only Remains a Name
Looking for Mother Wati's Son

The next day, around 8 am, Taufiq kept his promise to invite his wife to meet his son Ibu Wati at work.

"Mas, so isn't it today?" ask Love.

"So dear dong, are you ready?" ask Taufiq.

"Yes, let's go."

"Come on."

After that, the two of them immediately got into the car.

"Mas, do you know where his work address is?" ask Love.

"Yes, honey, Ibu Wati used to tell me her son's workplace. And I still remember." replied Taufiq.

"Don't you know, his workplace?" ask Love.

"No kog, 45 minutes is short" replied Taufiq smiling.

After that, love is silent and no longer speaks. Until finally they arrived in front of a large company that is now advancing rapidly.

"I think I've been here." murmured Taufiq.

"Mas, why bengong come on." said Cinta who had opened the car door but her husband was dumbstruck staring at the tall building in front of him.

"Yes, stop." Taufiq immediately got out of the car. When they want to enter, they are stopped by the security guard.

"Sorry sir, what is the need?" ask the security guard it's cold.

"Sorry, can I get something?" taufiq said politely because he saw the face of the security guard who was not friendly.

"What do you want?" the guard asked with his cold face.

"Yank, whose name is Bu Wati's son?" tanya Taufiq who was confused because he himself forgot the name of his son Ibu Wati.

"I don't know either, I forgot." replied Love in a whisper.

"You know, the son of a worker whose mother is called Ibu Wati, sorry, I forgot his name" said Taufiq who is still trying to be polite.

"I don't know." replied the security guard was cold which made Cinta furious with the security guard who did not know the manners.

But soon, a luxury car came and stopped in front of Taufiq and also Love.

"Dad, mother. What's in here?" asked Ani, yes it was Ani who got off the luxury car with her husband.

"We are looking for his son Mother Wati dear, but this security guard in asked his face cold and judes." replied Love annoyed. Ani who glanced at the Pak Satpam with a scary face.

"Father please go home and do not come back again" said Ani coldly. The security guard was also nervous because he had dealt with the wrong person.

"But, madam......."

"You know, this company belongs to my husband. And you need to know, the two parents in front of this father are my parents. And you need to know, the company that I have led all this time belongs to my father even the restaurant where you eat with his family is a restaurant owned by my mother. You know, during this time my father and mother were respected by others and there was never anyone who dared to make my father and mother annoyed. And you who are just an ordinary employee with a low salary dare to be disrespectful to both of my parents. Whoever he is, even if he's not my parent, but I don't like having arrogant employees like you. Please leave here because I'm fed up with the faces of arrogant people like you." said Ani who was very cold while her husband just smiled to see the wife who was so firm. Even his parents, Taufiq and Cinta did not expect his daughter who was still a dozen years old could behave like an adult even very assertive.

"Mother, what are you doing here?" ani asked softly after the arrogant Pak Satpam left with his shabby face.

"I want to find her son Mother Wati son, but we forgot her name. Just know his face." replied Love.

"But what's the matter, mother, to look for him here?" ask Ani.

"Yank, just bring in first father and mother, not good if talking here." said Rachel.

"Yes mas. Dad, mom. Come with us come inside." said Ani softly.

They entered the office and entered Rachel's very spacious room.

"Now, father and mother tell me what happened until father and mother came here" said Ani while Taufiq and Rachel chose to remain silent.

"Son, Wati's mother is dead."

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji. Do you know from where Ibu Wati is dead?" ani asked in shock.

"Because mother to her house and her house is very quiet. Keep asking the neighbor and he said that Wati's mother is dead. So the mother came here to look for her son Ibu Wati and want to know what really happened." replied Cinta.

"Why is Wati's mother?" murmured Rachel. Don't don........

"What is the name of the Son?" ask Rachel.

"Yes maybe son, because we forgot whose name it was." replied Love.

"In the meantime, I'm going to look for the picture first" Rachel said, Rachel asked her secretary to look for the data named Putra because there was a picture of her.

"Is this the guy?" rachel asked because she had never met Wati's mother and her son,. While Ani never took care of her husband's employees, because she herself was busy taking care of her own company so they both did not know that Mother Wati's son was working in Rachel's company.

"It's right, son. This is the person, the mother still remembers with her face." said Love.

"Oh my God, she is also dead" said Rachel sadly.

"What?" tanya Taufiq and Love were shocked.

"Are you really yank?" asked Ani in disbelief.

"Yes, it happened about a month and a half ago. A few months ago he often asked for leave because his mother was sick, he also had borrowed about 100 million company money to seek treatment for his mother. He also rarely entered work even several times always go home first when it was not time to go home, every time asked, why go home first? because her mother was sick and needed her. While the wife is just engrossed in playing hp and does not want to help him to take care of his mother.

Until finally I was horrified to hear his mother died and buried in his hometown, many employees here who came to the village because the pass died was a Saturday afternoon if not wrong, he said, so the hereditary employees so that they can go to his mother's village Putra, coincidentally also tomorrow is the day of Midnggu so they all have a work holiday.

And after that, a few days later, I was horrified by rumors that the Son divorced his wife because he considered her an ungodly wife because he did not want to help and care for his mother when her mother was sick and needed help.

And ever since he divorced his wife, the Son has been like a dazed man. He also does not work as eager as before, the Son like losing the spirit of his life. And after that, all I know, he was in an accident after returning from work and died right away at the place where his body was also eaten in his hometown. There are those who take care of the brother away from his mother." said Rachel explained at length. Love, Taufiq and Ani shed tears.

Rachel even though she is a CEO and also the main director of her company, but she always knows the news of every employee because for Rachel it is important. Because anyway if there are no employees then this company will not be able to stand until now. So the employee is an important person that Rachel must take care of and protect. Rachel will not hesitate to provide direct assistance if there are employees who why napa.

"I wouldn't have expected the life of Ms. Wati and her son to be that stragic. Though all this time I thought his life was happy and delicious but I did not think even kayak gini. If I hadn't been to Ms. Wati's house yesterday, I probably wouldn't have known what happened" said Cinta crying directly in the embrace by Taufiq in order to calm her. Taufiq knew exactly how his wife felt. Because Love has loved Mother Wati as his own mother.

Ani was also no less sad because she also did not expect that Mother Wati would die so soon and even her son died in front of her husband's company but Ani did not even know what. Her husband also did not say, maybe he thought it was useless to also tell Ani considering Ani also did not know her husband's employees.

"Please, there must be wisdom behind this disaster" said Taufiq to calm him.

"Yes, what you say is true, there may indeed be wisdom behind every incident. I'm sure Mother Wati and her son have lived happily in nature there." said Ani who also helped calm the bundle.

Love also tried to be able to try to be patient, he was sure that this was all their destiny. Does not every human being have a life line.

The faith of a true believer must include six pillars. The last is to believe in the destiny of God, both good and bad.  Misunderstanding faith in destiny can be fatal, leading to the cancellation of one's faith

In the discussion of destiny, we often hear the terms qodho’ and qodar. Two terms are similar but not the same. Has the same meaning if called one of them, but has a different meaning when mentioned together. If mentioned qodho’ only then includes the meaning of qodar, and vice versa. But if mentioned together, then qodho’ means something that God has determined in His creatures, whether in the form of creation, absence, or change in something. Qodar means something that Allah has determined since the time of Azali. Thus qodar exists first then followed by qodho’.

We need to know that faith in destiny must include four principles. These four principles must be accepted by every Muslim.

First: Believing that Allah Ta’ala knows with his knowledge the eternal and eternal about everything that happens both small and big things, real and hidden, about everything, both the works of God and his creatures. Everything happens in the knowledge of Allah Ta’ala.

Second: Believing that Allah Ta’ala has written in lohul mahfudz the record of the destiny of all things until the day of the apocalypse. Nothing has happened or will happen unless it is recorded.

The two principles above are contained in the Qur’an and As Sunnah. In the Qur’an, Allah Ta’ala says,

“Do you not know that Allah knows what is in the heavens and the earth?; that this is in a book (Mahfuzh Way). Verily such is very easy for Allah” (QS. Al Hajj:70).

“And by Allah are the keys of all the unseen; no one knows it but He Himself, and He knows what is on the land and in the sea, and not a leaf falls unless He knows it (after all), and not a seed falls in the darkness of the earth, and not something wet or dry, rather it is written in the real book (Much Mahfudz)”” (QS. Al An’am:59).

“... God has set a destiny for every being since fifty thousand years before the creation of heaven and earth”[3]

Third: Believing that God's will encompasses everything, whether it happens or not, both big and small, both visible and hidden, what happens in the sky and on earth. Everything happens by the will of Allah Ta’ala, be it the deeds of Allah himself or the deeds of his creatures.

Fourth: Believing in the creation of God. Allah Ta’ala creates everything both big and small, which is real and hidden. The creation of God includes everything from the part of the creature to its nature. The words and deeds of beings are also the creation of God.

The second principle above is the word of Allah Ta’ala,

“.God created all things and He kept all things. To Him belong the keys (treasure) of heaven and earth. And those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah, they are the losers.”(QS. Az Zumar 62-63)

“While Allah created you and what you did was“.” (QS. As Shafat:96).[4]

Believing in destiny does not mean negating the will and ability of man to do. This is because the proposition of Sharia and the reality that exists shows that humans still have the will to do something.

Dalil of sharia, Allah Ta’ala has spoken of the will of beings, the,

“That's the day that's sure to happen. Whoever wills, he will take the way back to his Lord (QS. From Nabaa’:39)

“Your wives are (as) the land where you grow crops, so come the land where you grow crops how you want. …”(Al Baqoroh:223)

As for the abilities of the creatures God explains,

“Then fear Allah according to your ability and hear and reward and spend a good living for yourself . And whosoever is kept from his stinginess, then they are the lucky ones.” (QS. At Taghobun's :16)

“God does not burden a person unless it is in accordance with his ability. He got the reward (of virtue) he worked for and he got the punishment (of evil) he did..”(.QS. Al Baqoroh: 286)

Reality shows that every human being knows that he has will and ability. By his will and ability, he does or leaves something behind. He can also tell the difference between something that happens to his will (such as walking), and something that happens without his will, (such as shaking or breathing). However, the will and the ability of the creature occur with the will and ability of Allah Ta’la because Allah said,

“(i.e.) to whom one of you will take the straight path. And you cannot desire (to follow that path) unless Allah wills, the Lord of the Worlds.” (QS. At Takwir:28-29). And since everything belongs to Allah, none of His is unknown and will not be desired by Him.[5]

Sort of Destiny

Readers who are blessed by God, we need to know that destiny has several types:

[1] The fate of Azali. The decree of Allah before the creation of the heavens and the earth when Allah Ta’ala created qolam (pen). Allah says,

“Say: “Sometimes it will not befall us but what God has set for us. He is our Protector, and only to Allah should those who believe rely (QS. At Taubah: 51)

Prophet shalallahu ‘alaihi wa sallaam said, “... Allah has set a destiny for every creature since fifty thousand years before the creation of heaven and earth”[6]

[2] Our Destiny. Namely the recording of the covenant when man is asked by Allah:”Am I not your Lord?”. Allah Ta’ala says,

“And (remember), when your Lord brought forth the offspring of the sons of Adam from their sling and God took witness against their souls (so saying): “Am I not your Lord?” They replied: “Betul (Thou Tuban us), we became witness”. (We did so) so that on the Day of Resurrection you would not say: “We (the children of Adam) are the ones who are careless about this (the Oneness of God)”. or that ye may not say: “Our parents have joined the Lord long ago, and we are (coming) children after them. Will You destroy us for the deeds of the lost?” (QS. Al A’raaf 172-173).

[3] Destiny ‘Umri. The decree of Allah when the creation of the nutfah in the womb, has determined its sex, death, charity, displeasure, and nutrition. Everything is fixed, it will not increase and it will not decrease. Allah Ta’ala says,

“O man, if you are in doubt about the resurrection (from the grave), then (know) verily We have made you from the ground, then from a drop of semen, then from a lump of blood, then from a, then from the perfect lump of flesh, and the imperfect, that We may explain to you, and set in the womb what We will until the appointed time, then We have brought you out as a baby, and then (by stages) you come to maturity, and among you there are those who are spoken of and (again) among you who are extended to senility, so that he would know nothing of what he had previously known. And you see that the earth is dry, and when We have sent down water on it, live the earth and prosper and grow all kinds of beautiful plants (QS. Al Hajj:5)

[5] The fate of Hauli. The destiny that Allah has set on the night of the lailatul qadar, Allah sets forth everything that happens in one year. Allah says,

“Haa miim . By the Book (Al Qur’an) We sent it down on a blessed night, and it was We who warned. On that night explained all the wise affairs, (i.e.,) the great affairs of Our side. Verily We are the One who sent the apostles of” (QS. Ad Dukhaan: 1-5)

[5] Yaumi's fate. That is the determination of the occurrence of destiny at the predestined time. Allah says,

“Everything in heaven and earth always asks Him. Every time He is busy . “ (QS. Ar Rahmaan: 29).

Ibn Jarir narrated from Munib bin Abdillah bin Munib Al Azdiy from his father said, “Rasulullah read the word of Allah “ Every time He was in the busy”, then we ask: : O Messenger of Allah, what is meant?. The Prophet said:” Allah forgives sins, removes distress, and elevates the voice and humbles the voice of others”

Middle Attitude in Understanding Destiny

Among the principles of ahlus sunnah is to be middle in understanding the Qur’an and As Sunnah, not as ahlul bid’ah attitude. Ahlus Sunnah believes that Allah has ordained the whole destiny since Azali, and Allah knows the destiny that will happen in time and how the form of destiny, everything happens in accordance with the destiny that Allah has set.

As for those who oppose the Qur'an and the Sunnah, they are exaggerated. One is too dismissive and the other is overreaching. The Qodariyah, they deny the existence of destiny. They say that Allah does not foredo the deeds of servants. According to them the deeds of the servant are not the creatures of God, but the servant himself creates his deeds. They deny the creation of Allah against the charity of servants.

The other group is the one that is too overreaching in setting destiny. They are known as Jabariyyah. They overdo their destiny and deny the will of the servant in their deeds. They deny the deeds of the servants and declare all the deeds of the servants to Allah. So it is as if the servant is forced into his deeds.[8]

The two groups above have been wrong in honoring destiny as shown in many propositions. Among them the word of Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla,

“(i.e.) to whom one of you will take the straight path. And ye cannot desire (to follow the way) unless Allah wills, the Lord of the Worlds.”(QS. At Takwir: 28-29)

In the verse (which means), “ (i.e.) for whom of you who take the straight path” is a rebuttal for Jabariyyah because in this verse Allah establishes the will for the servant. This is contrary to the belief of those who say that servants are forced without having will. Then Allah says (which means), “And you cannot desire (to follow that path) unless it is willed by Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.” In this verse there is a rebuttal to Qodariyah which says that the will of man stands alone and is created by the servant without conforming to the will of God because Allah associates the will of the servant with His will.[9]

Good Destiny and Bad Destiny

Destiny is sometimes characterized by good destiny and bad destiny. A good destiny is clear. What do you mean by bad destiny? Does this mean that God is doing something bad? In this case we need to understand between the destiny which is the act of God and the impact/result of the act. If the destiny of dissipation is bad, then what is meant is the badness of the predestined thing, not the destiny which is the work of God, because there is not one bad deed of God. All the works of God contain goodness and wisdom. So the evil in question is seen from something destined/the result of action, not from the actions of God. For more details, we can illustrate as follows.

Someone who has malignant bone cancer in the legs for example, sometimes requires amputation (cutting body parts) to prevent the spread of cancer. We agree that a cut off leg is a bad thing. But in this case, the act of amputation (cutting the foot) is a good deed. Although the result of his actions is bad (i.e., cut off the leg), but the act of amputation is a good deed. Similarly, we understand the destiny that God has set. All the works of God are good, although sometimes the result is something that is not good for the servant.

But what needs to be noted, that the results of bad destiny are sometimes on the one hand bad, but contain goodness on the other. Allah Ta’ala says :

“It has been seen that the damage on land and at sea was caused by the actions of human hands, that God felt to them part of (effects) their deeds, in order for them to return (to the correct path)” (QS. From Ruum:41). The damage that happens eventually leads to good. Therefore, the evil that occurs in destiny is not the real evil, because sometimes it will lead to the end result of good.[10]

Be Excited, Don't Just Lean On Destiny

Some people have the wrong assumption in understanding destiny. They simply resigned themselves to fate without making any effort at all. This is a real mistake.  Does not God also command us to take cause and forbid us from being lazy? When we have taken cause and get results that we do not want, then we should not be sad and despair because everything is God's decree.  Therefore, the Prophet shalallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda,

“Enhance for things that benefit you. Ask Allah\ for help, do not be weak. If you are struck by a calamity\, then do not say: ‘If I had done so and so.’ But let us say: ‘This is God's destiny. Every thing that He willed must have happened.’ Because the word law (if) can open the door syaithon.”[11] [12]

Important Benefits

True faith in destiny will produce important things, including the following :

First: Only rely on God when doing various causes, and do not rely on the cause itself. Everything depends on God's destiny.

Second: A person is not arrogant about himself when he achieves his goals, because the success he gets is a favor from God, in the form of good causes and successes that have been destined by God. Admiration for himself will forget himself to be grateful for the favor.

Third: The emergence of calmness in the heart of God's destiny that befalls him, so that he does not grieve over the loss of something he loves or when getting something he hates. All this happens by the word of God. Allah says,

“There is no disaster that befalls the earth and (not even) yourself but it was written in the book (Lauhul Mahfuzh) before We created it. Verily, this is easy for Allah. (We explain this) lest you grieve over what has escaped you, and lest you be too happy with what He has given you.” (QS. Al Hadid:22-23).[13]
