Back to Finding a Substitute

Vita was still crying when she saw Yudha as dramatic as this happy news. This expression is what he really wants to see first when they experience a household problem, causing separation.

Still remembered clearly, where the test he threw out because he was first disappointed to hear the news of his honeymoon pregnancy—so he paused the intention to tell the same news from him.

But now all those times have passed. Vita hoped there would never be any more large stones of his way of life, other than small pebbles that could easily be removed.

Yudha wiped her tears and looked into her eyes deep, shady and full of love. “Don't ever leave me again Sweety,” he said like a real man who was promising. Then re-clutched the tiny body into his chest. “I'll look after you all my life.”

Rahma is still in mourning after the death of her mother forty days ago.

Now he is visiting his tomb with a prayer. In front of the tomb, the woman had been sobbing for some time. The loss was still etched clearly within the depths of his heart. But according to him, like this is better than he had to endure torment in bed for months.

“But now I'm not sick anymore, Mom. May the sins of the mother fall because of the pain—and calm there,” Rahma said while sprinkling flowers to the mound of land that is still wet.

Although his mother was that way during his life, Nely was still his mother. From her womb Rahma was born with the strain of life. His blood flowed through his body. Rahma never hates or grudges. Rahma loved him very much. And come to think of it, whatever mother did to her was solely for her sake.

After reading the suratan, Rahma immediately said goodbye because the heat of the sun was getting hot slapping his skin even though it was perfectly covered.

“Rahma came home yes, Mom. Rahma promises to come here often.” Rahma smilingly rubbed the headstone and thought it was real.

“Rahma ...,” call someone not far from him.

“Rio?” he said a bit surprised. Rahma immediately stood up when she saw the man walking over.

“Sorry, I've been following you. I just wanted to make sure it was you.”

Rahma smiled. “Iya, I was visiting my mother's grave,” she replied. “You alone?”

“I also finished visiting my wife's grave there.” Rio pointed in another direction that was not far from them standing. “It just so happened that I saw you earlier, so I came straight here.”

Rahma nodded.

“According to mourn the passing of your mother, yes.”

“Yes, thanks Ri,” replied Rahma. Then they went out together to the parking lot while chatting casually about the cause of his mother's death.

Rahma recounted: it is not known exactly what caused him to die— because at that time (Rahma woke up), he found his body was cold. His breath was gone, his heartbeat could no longer be heard.

As for Rio himself, he did not tell more details because his wife had already died a year ago—just before long by the time they met in the hospital. The man said his wife was no longer strong against the malignant cancer that attacked his body for years.

“They have calmed down by his side,” Rahma said when they were already next to the car.

The distance between his mother's grave and the car park is so far that it takes a long time to walk.

“We must be sincere,” Rahma continued again.

“Sure,” says Rio for sure. “Any living person will definitely die right?”

“You're right.” Rahma smiled. He then took something from inside his bag. Car keys. “It's noon, Ri. I have to go home.”

“But before you go home, can I say something?” Rio face looks very serious. The bead of his eyes plunged deeply into the heart. Penetrating to previously dark depths without light—after his failure to mate with a man there.

“What's up, Ri?” asked Rahma astonished by the romance of the man in front of her. “It looks so serious. Relax, we've been friends for a long time, haven't we?”

Deg.

Like a drum in his ear. The heart of the womb beats faster. Rahma was silent to listen to what Rio was going to say next. Verily he understood where this conversation was going.

“I want to propose to you,” he said so sure that Rahma was silent a thousand languages.

“I want you to be my wife, complete the half of me I've ever lost. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to love you in a way that is memorized.”

Rahma. He was confused about this question. There was no longer any remnant of Yudha's love in her heart. That feeling has evaporated with the melting of disappointment—because his earnest love has been toyed with by the destiny of the world.

“Say yes, Rahma. Love will definitely be present if our hearts are open to and willing to accept,” Rio said again.

“I have many shortcomings,” he replied because he did not know to answer in other ways.

“I did too. Please don't reject me.”

“Can you give me a chance to think?”

“It's just that you told me to wait if in the end you said yes.”

“Rio ...,” de sah Rahma turned her gaze in the other direction. He's just confused. They're not too close yet. Rahma did not recognize him any further. He was afraid of choosing the wrong again as before. Learn from the experience.

“I'm alone, Rahma. And you're the only one. I promise not to include any other Rahma-Rahma. Trust.”

Rahma was silent to think for a moment.

“Receive me or you will continue to be in loneliness.”

Rahma dilemma. But what Rio said was true. She needs a husband. He wants to have funny kids. She also wants to live in a household again and bury her past. And maybe only Rio was willing to accept his current state.

Indeed Rio was not as valiant as Yudha, but the face of the man was much more supple. From the way he spoke, he was patient and compassionate.

“But I am a widow ..” she said after being silent for a while. “Unfortunately your family will be okay?” ask to make sure. Rahma just didn't want Rio to forget that.

“What's wrong? I am also a widow. Widow boy.”

Rahma smiled at the funny words. Then with his head lowered, he said with certainty, “Alright I accept your proposal.”

“Yes! I'm accepted!” Getting a fresh breeze made Rio also unable to mengu lum happy smile.

But then Rahma immediately gushed annoyed. “You're really out of your mind. Applying to me in a grave like this!”

Rio instantly chuckled until the corner of his eyes was somewhat watery. Somewhat long he was like that before he finally came back to say, “I will soon bring my parents to your house. And we'll get married soon.”

I don't know what feelings are covering it. Rahma could no longer describe her joy at rediscovering a long-lost love.

The word love is always more beautiful than anything else.

The following month, they finally got married.
