25.

Many of the tests Rio has been undergoing for several days in Singapore hospitals. He has just undergone a MRI scan after undergoing blood tests, a CT scan and a PET scan. He will undergo a follow-up examination after the results of the previous examination come out. Of course there are still many stages that he has to go through which feels very torturing him.

“How many days have we been here, Hans?” rio asked the person who had been accompanying him all this time.

“One week, Sir,” replied Hans.

“How long was it? Has the world stopped turning?”

Hans smiled. He was very understanding, surely Rio was tired of seeing the roof of the hospital which was always his sight every day.

“Not really, Sir. Maybe because you think too much about it, so feel the days become longer. Try if you do not think constantly, time can feel shorter,” said Hans tried to give advice.

“It should be so, but by itself this thought does not want to be separated from the family I left,” Rio said next.

“I'm very appreciative, Sir. Moreover... I still have a small child now. Because that's also what I'm feeling.”

“What are the only children you miss?” asked Rio astonished.

Hans smiled back. “If his mother, of course there is no need to ask again, sir. Because it is for sure.”

“What is your wife good?”

Hans scratched his nape to find this kind of strange question of Rio. But he had no choice but to answer. “Of course it's good, sir. All wives are good.”

Hans answer made Rio grow even more astonished, “Why did you say so?”

“Hmmm, simple as this, sir. He is none of us, he is just someone we find on the road that we then take home. We never take care of him from childhood, we never give him anything but just the living we get everyday. But with his love, he was willing to wash our clothes, take care of us when sick, protect our orgasm from its evil, conceive our children and give birth to it. Not to mention, they also have to help our sometimes inadequate living. Once again, I can say, he is not anyone we want to devote a lifetime to us. Isn't he a good person?” clearly Hans analogized it with a long description to make it easier to understand.

“So your wife?”

“Ya,” Hans replied with certainty.

Somewhat long ago Rio was speechless thinking about all the explanations that had just absorbed in his mind. What Hans said just now was completely true. Rahma is also a good wife without blemishes. All his sacrifices were so much he felt when he was sick. He saw the woman was very busy, working, taking care of the house, taking care of the children, and taking care of her wholeheartedly without ever getting tired. He who bathes her, feeds her, delivers her to the hospital, gives her medicine at all times. Not to mention if he is seriously ill because there are times when he is difficult to move—then Rahma will replace his clothes without caring about the pungent smell from his body.

Rio was very grateful. But it also felt too painful to know his wife was pregnant without him knowing who his father was. She was betrayed, until she got pregnant? Isn't that rude?! Is he no longer able to hold his orgasm until he seeks another man to satisfy himself? How outrageous.

“What did you say earlier, your wife is a good woman? Right so?”

Hans nodded.

“But... how about your wife cheating until pregnant with someone else's child?”

There was a sigh from Hans before he answered again, “Luck is sure. Splitting up is also a choice. But before we do that, we have to know first what causes it and because it can happen. Is he forced or victim...sorry, rape?”

Hans paused for a moment, then resumed, “I can't answer yet, whether I will divorce him or choose to stay with—because I also have to look at him with the other side or different eyes. Do not let us regret later because it turns out he is not as bad as we think. Like that, sir,” Hans said again in his soft voice. Out of curiosity, he asked very carefully, “Why do you ask like this? Did you experience it?”

Not how long Rio nodded. Hans' heart shook. Being sick, betrayed, I don't know what it's like. I can still breathe, I feel so grateful.

“Sorry before, sir..if my advice, you better talk first, what is the best you can do. Get to know your wife further, so we don't regret it later. It could be that he did so because he was forced to, or perhaps because of economic demands. That's just my guess, Mr.”

Fortunately, they had not thought further; how could this weak body impregnate a woman, if only she had risen from her bed, she still needed the help of others?

Not to mention with the finances they have—for sure everyone will also think thousands of times to plan to add more children.

As long as Rio knew of his wife's ulcers, he never said anything more let alone asked her if necessary. Rahma, too, just cried and apologized while prostrating on her feet without saying who the father of the baby was.

Or is it possible that the father of the baby is a married man so Rahma is reluctant to say it for fear of this news being spread?

“Thank you, explanation, Hans. Don't be too formal. I'm just an ordinary person. No need you respect me to that extent.”

“Ah, could be, sir.. might already be a habit in the office, so yes, like this.”

“Call me Rio, Hans.”

“Alright then.”

The chat is enough when a doctor comes in to visit his condition. But shortly after the doctor came out, another woman, his own wife. The woman came by herself with something in her hand.

“Finally I can get here, Kak,” he said as soon as he threw his body into the seat.

“Then excuse me, Sir, Ma'am,” Hans said giving them a chance to talk to each other.

“Thank you for accompanying my husband, Hans,” Rahma said before Hans left. Actually Rahma was no stranger to this man's face, she was like she had seen before, but where?

But—dia was reluctant to think about it further as the man in front of her attracted her attention more to get close.

“How are you doing, Brother? Are you better now?”

Silent.

There was no response from her husband who turned his back.

“I know you must have hated it once I came here,” Rahma said again after a while. She was determined to thicken her face at this time to be able to see her husband who she passed from different countries.

“Actually Mother also did not allow me to come here. But, I want to see how you are right now. And I'm grateful that you've started to undergo more intensive treatment. Spirit, yes, brother. You must have spirit. Not for me, but for the kids because I feel I have no right for you to fight now.”

Rahma tried to hold Rio's hand that looked resigned, though also did not care.

“Let me take care of you first, be next to you first until you recover, huh? Later, if you're cured, I promise I'll go with this boy.”

“Why?” so long silent, this time finally Rio voiced, “the man is waiting for you there?”
