Chapter 39: Bloody Road

The Kaspian Palace today looks very busy. The entire palace attendants prepared everything to welcome the three Kaspian Knights as well as their troops home. Nobles and delegates from other kingdoms are scheduled to attend tonight. But the atmosphere was inversely proportional to the atmosphere of the room Abhlesh. Inside, he sat facing Elizabeth Perceval. Madam Elizabeth looked calm with a cup of tea in her hand, while Abhlesh could only sigh and lean back.

"Are you sure you're gonna do all this?"

"Do you think the road is easy?"

Abhlesh shook his head and stood up. He walked to the balcony and Elizabeth followed him. The two of them sat on a bench facing the Kaspian lake.

"Mother, what do you think I should do? You know about Gaia's curse and I'm the contract holder. There is no other choice for me, I can't possibly make Aurora endure all this. This contract has to stop."

Elizabeth could only stare at the surface of the lake so quietly. Elizabeth closed her eyes and felt a gentle breeze dancing through her. But actually Elizabeth's thoughts raged about all Abhlesh's plans of shaping the Caspian into an Empire. All of that is too risky even though Elizabeth knows how the Caspian military might be.

"Abhlesh my son, whatever you do, never betray your people. The Caspian and all of it is yours, but that doesn't mean you can sacrifice your people for one. You know about politics and everything, but if you sacrifice Kaspian for a woman, I think you fail to be king."

Elizabeth's words were like the tip of a spear that stuck in Abhlesh's head. All of Elizabeth's words have always been about the prosperity of the Caspian people and everything about the peaceful and peaceful Caspian kingdom. But if violence is necessary, Elizabeth is the first to do so.

"I just want to remove the curse and bring the Kaspian to a higher level. None of this has anything to do with Aurora and-"

"You cannot lie to yourself Abh. Everything you do is for Kaspian, but everything changes when you meet Aurora and Kaspian's initial goal goes far because of it."

Elizabeth stared intently at Abhlesh's blue crystal eyes. He really dislikes a man who can only follow the air of drugs and act rashly. But the eye illustrates a far greater ambition than Elizabeth had expected.

"My goal hasn't changed, Mother. Everything I do is not just for the Kaspian, but for the entire mainland. This land needs a leader and the Kaspian can bring everything together. I promise you Mother, Kaspian will be the most powerful Empire in the entire land."

Abhlesh stood up and left Elizabeth shaking her head. For Elizabeth, Abhlesh's goal is huge and Abhlesh does have the power to do that. But still, Elizabeth was worried that it would change Abhlesh and hurt her.

"Hold your step, young man."

Abhlesh fell silent and turned to Elizabeth who was standing before him. Elizabeth's sharp eyes made Abhlesh speechless and bowed.

"You forgot one thing my son. Behind great power comes equally great responsibility. I hope you don't forget all that and stick to your path. Perceval will continue to support any royal decision. But I hope you think things through before you move. We'll discuss it at the nobles' meeting. I hope you can convince everyone."

Elizabeth approached Abhlesh who could only be bowed. To Elizabeth the man before her was just a little boy who needed guidance. Therefore, he was willing to play the role of a whip so that Abhlesh was not wrong in taking direction. Now Elizabeth took Abhlesh by the arm and smiled.

"Remove your tense face, Your Majesty. You are the pride of the Kaspian and you are the most precious thing to me. Show me your wife or you can stop being my son."

Elizabeth smiled at Abhlesh who looked relieved.

Elizabeth chuckled and chose to put her trust in Abhlesh. The thing he said just as a reminder to Abhlesh that Kaspian is more important to him. Now the two of them walked towards Aurora who was in the Kaspian library. The girl is now always busy with all the knowledge that became her goal.

"Good day, Miss Aurora."

A woman's voice breaks the Aurora's concentration. He turned around and saw a man smiling at him. Aurora momentarily could not believe what she saw. The few days since Abhlesh's arrival have always been busy and avoided it. The man becomes the cause of Aurora's gloom and chooses to spend time in the Kaspian library. Even so, Aurora realized that Abhlesh had a great responsibility and now the man was standing before her.

"P-prince?"

Abhlesh smiled and Aurora stood up saluting. He was not aware of Abhlesh's arrival and it made him nervous.

"Why? Did I interrupt Aurora's time?"

Aurora shook her head and her beautiful face could only be bowed. But Abhlesh stroked her hair and took Aurora's hand.

"Will you accompany me today?"

Aurora nodded weakly and Abhlesh smiled at her timid behavior. All of this returned to being hypnotic for Abhlesh and lightened his load a little. But still he could not let Aurora wretched because of his actions. Now they left the library and walked towards Cleo's garden.

Along the way Aurora just bowed and it seemed like Abhlesh had to repeat everything from scratch. Even Aurora's eyes did not dare to look directly at Abhlesh's eyes and could only be bowed when they faced each other. Abhlesh just chuckled and started with all his little temptations. The two of them spent time with small chatter and joking laughter that made the atmosphere warm. Until news of the arrival of the Caspian troops damaged their mood and Abhlesh rushed to welcome the Caspian troops.

Aurora just followed behind with Elizabeth and some of the royal higher-ups. But when the airship door opened, Abhlesh was startled by a woman who flew straight at him. The woman hugged Abhlesh tightly and even stole Abhlesh's lips. Everything happened so quickly and Abhlesh could only fall silent without being able to fight all of this. While Elizabeth and Aurora were pensive to see the incident so quickly.

"It's good to know you, Prince. Uh! I'm so weak with a handsome man."

The woman repeated her vicious kiss and Abhlesh tried to take off the woman's embrace but failed. Some of the soldiers could not even get close to them because magic covered the area around Abhlesh. When Elizabeth realized, she immediately acted and the incident could finally be stopped. Igrit who arrived late could only sigh and pull the woman. Abhlesh was still speechless with lipstick marks all over his face. That incident really made the Kaspian scene for the next few days.
