Chapter 37: Siege of Babylon

The Caspian forces still did not fully subdue the Theocracy. Although the news of the Caspian victory had already been announced, all of it was only to make the morale of the Theocratic forces destroyed. Now Hektor and Emerson are still carrying out a massive attack in the city of Suez. The entire Theocratic army held out in the highest tower they called the tower of Babel. It was there that the siege war began, the second round of the offensive that captured the city of Suez.

The Tower of Babel protected a magic dome that covered all parts of the tower. That made it difficult for the airship to level the tower with their cannons. There the Theocratic forces and their higher-ups were located, confined and had no choice but to survive. But their morale remained high and occasionally overwhelmed the Caspian army.

"Don't be afraid! God is with us!" Shouted an army commander who was leading the defense.

That made the morale of the Theocratic forces skyrocket and the assault finally began. The entire Theocratic army gathered over a giant fence that surrounded the tower. The airship could not shoot them because the guards and Caspian troops could only attack by land.

"Make Dreadnought! Two main cannons! Destroy the protector of Babylon! All the troops are away!"

Hektor gave orders to start the attack. Two moving airships take position, some airships are located nearby set the distance and can be said to be away. Even the Caspian army that had besieged the tower of Babel began to retreat away from it.

The Theocratic forces did not feel anything strange about the Caspian movement. They started screaming and felt the victory was in their hands. But when they realized, it was too late.

Two airships are already directing their cannons. The red glint was clearly visible on the main cannon fuselage. The weapon that Kaspian had stored up had finally got a chance to perform. The cannon used no projectile, but rather a much more powerful energy than a typical cannon.

The rumbling sound in the skies of Suez made the Theocracy troops who had been rejoicing turned silent. All of their gazes were fixed on the two terrifying objects that were emitting lightning at the bottom. A second later the bright red light made everyone turn their eyes away. Except for those who were enchanted by the beauty of the death light from the strongest Caspian cannons.

"Mu-mundu-"

The sentence is disconnected or rather immersed in the sound of an explosion that can make the eardrum rupture. The resulting light can make the human eye blind and many Theocratic forces experience it. Extreme heat enveloped the front of the tower that was the target of the weapon. All the Theocratic soldiers who were within the blast radius vanished and left only a puddle of fiery red remains of melted iron.

The building and everything around the center of the explosion disappeared. The previously impenetrable protector had now disappeared without a trace. The atmosphere was so silent, the shout of victory and spirit vanished instantly. Even most of the Caspian troops could only be speechless at what lay before them.

"All the troops are advancing!"

The voice of Hector broke the silence and the Caspian army began to enter the tower of Babel. There was no resistance from the Theocratic forces or rather they had all vanished without a trace at all. Even so the Caspian troops continued to do their duty and pushed into the tower. The supposed fierce assault turned into something so easy. Within hours the entire Theocratic army surrendered and their higher-ups were captured.

Hektor ordered an inspection of all parts of the tower and it was then that they found a secret passage that led to the underground part of the tower of Babel. Emerson went in and checked the place. For him the attack on the city of Suez was much more boring because of the Dreadnought cannon.

A few minutes later Hektor caught up with him and now they were both standing in front of a large door. Emerson had intended to open the door but somehow his instincts set off a danger alarm. Not only Emerson, Hektor felt the same and had already prepared with his sword.

"You sure?"

Emerson throws in questions he almost never says. But curiosity made the two of them agree to open the door. It was very dark inside and there was no light at all. When they started to step in, they were both reflexively retreating and back outside.

"Oy, oy, what's this energy."

Hektor paid no heed to Emerson and focused his concentration on something that was in there. What made them retreat was a pretty strong killing appetite and led right at the both of them. Only once in his life did Hektor feel this way and now the second time he feels the same.

"All of you! Go back upstairs and report to Your Majesty! Leave us both! Hurry along!"

"Hector!"

Emerson felt something move in there. When it was also a black shadow pointed right at Emerson's neck. Luckily Emerson managed to dodge and retreat a few steps from where he stood. Hektor tried to slash the shadow and their attacks clashed. Although Hektor was able to withstand the attack, his hand shook due to the intense pressure he felt.

"Ho ... You're strong."

A woman's voice sounded from inside there and made the atmosphere turn very tense. Whatever was inside there managed to make the two strongest Knights of Kaspian feel danger from their instincts. The sound of footsteps could be heard from inside. The sound of the step was like someone wearing shoes and echoed throughout the room.

The voice got closer and what came out of the room made them all speechless. A woman who is very beautiful and arguably sexy shows her form. Hektor and Emerson are now at the highest level of alertness. Their instincts say the woman is very dangerous and prepared to attack.

"Welcome gentlemen. Are you the enemy? I suppose. But what was my contract with that guy? hmmm ... Uh! I forgot hehe. Let's get started."

The woman smiled and in her hand appeared a stick. He stepped slowly towards the two men who looked so tense.

"Emerson!"

The woman's steps stopped and her smile disappeared. His face changed expressionlessly and the look in his eyes made the fur of Iud Hektor stand up. Emerson was prepared with all the possibilities and when that too someone passed them both and led right to the woman.

A loud bang echoed when the two of them met. Dust covered Hektor's sight and as everything began to fade, Igrit was already standing right in front of the woman. Igrit and the woman held each other back.

"Igrit! Long time no see! I'm kangen hahaha."

"Close save your babble Bertia."

"Uuuu is still as rude as ever. But I like hahahaha."

They both took distance and Igrit prepared to start the second round. While the woman just yawned and lay on her floating stick.
