Chapter 21: Duchess Perceval

Duchess Elizabeth Perceval, a woman who has the nickname Flower of Society. Although at the age of 60 years, the woman still looks beautiful. Even when Aurora first met him, Aurora thought she was meeting the wrong person. The woman sat down again in front of him.

The woman smiled at Aurora. But his eyes seemed to judge every move Aurora made. His gaze was as if something forced Aurora to do nothing wrong. Even when Aurora saluted him, the woman simply replied to him with a smile. Without further ado, he immediately asked Aurora to sit in front of him.

Their position facing each other, made Aurora a little nervous. Elizabeth asks all the servants to leave the room except for Nana. Nana takes a position in the corner of the room and prepares if she is needed.

"Are you called Aurora?"

The woman's question made Aurora a little surprised. Hadn't he met Aurora when he was with Abhlesh at the palace banquet at that time. Aurora, however, chose to nod and smile.

"You don't have to be nervous, dear."

The woman smiled at Aurora's slightly forced smile.

"But that doesn't mean you can let go of manners."

Elizabeth stared intently at Aurora. He looked for a gap in the girl. While Aurora, she is trying to calm herself down to keep looking into Elizabeth's eyes.

"May I ask your purpose of calling me Madam?"

Elizabeth sighed hearing that sentence. His gaze turned cold and his face was now expressionless.

"Do you want to be Queen?"

The question made Aurora speechless. She did not expect the famous Duchess to directly throw the question at her. Aurora's mind raged, not even knowing what to say. While Elizabeth, the woman did not even see Aurora's face at all and enjoyed the cup of tea in her hands.

The room was a little heavy. Aurora was still unable to answer the question and Elizabeth did not change the question at all. The woman seemed to wait for Aurora's response without looking at her face.

"What do you mean"

"I hate long-winded people, you just have to say yes or no."

Elizabeth immediately cut Aurora's sentence. The girl felt a different pressure from Elizabeth. Janet said that Duchess Perceval was far more terrible than Hektor. Now she feels the real pressure from Duchess Elizabeth Perceval.

"I don't want you to be Queen at all."

Aurora is now bowed, the girl is trying to fight Elizabeth's words. But something seemed to hold him back, he seemed to accept the word raw.

"A Queen should not bow before her subordinates."

Aurora looked at Elizabeth's face. He asked for an explanation of that sentence. Elizabeth did not look at Aurora at all, the woman seemed to be waiting for Aurora's response.

"Did Abhlesh ask you to be his queen?"

Aurora lowered her head again. He was faced with a bitter reality. Her position as the Princess of a defeated kingdom weakened her. How could he possibly compensate Abhlesh who was the Prince of the Caspians.

"You're too weak."

Elizabeth again throws a statement that makes Aurora more cornered. He was under the torment of a terrible word.

"How could you possibly want to be Queen? look at you, you can't even defend yourself."

Elizabeth looked at the bowed Aurora. The woman looked disappointed with the girl before her. He did not expect Aurora to accept all of his words. Elizabeth sighed and stood up.

"You don't need to answer my question today, meet me back at the Cleo region flower garden this afternoon."

Elizabeth leaves Aurora still bowed. The girl seemed to hold back tears over her who was not even able to defend herself. Aurora took off her tears when Elizabeth was completely gone from the room.

"Nana, am I really pathetic?"

"Madam Elizabeth is just asking you to answer her question, I suggest you think of her answer Princess."

Aurora nodded weakly and left the room. He was still drowning in his own regrets. Aurora is now walking weakly into her room. Sinking into the contemplation that made him sigh many times.

When he arrived at his room. Aurora releases all the stifled emotions. She cried and cried, but not once did she blame Elizabeth and her questions. Aurora is aware of her weakness, the girl is also aware of the position of Elizabeth who certainly wants the best Queen for the Kaspian.

But still, the questions were as if lightning had struck in his ear. Elizabeth's sharp statement like a sword made Aurora look pensive again. In that state, someone knocked on the door of his room. Aurora listens to Janet's voice asking for permission to enter.

"Are you okay, Princess?"

Janet smiled at Aurora who was drowning in worry. He seemed to understand why Aurora became what she is today.

"Did Madam Elizabeth ask you something?"

Janet approached Aurora who was sitting on the edge of the bed. The woman wiped away Aurora's tears and looked at her with a smiling face.

"Princess Aurora, is being the Queen of Prince Abhlesh so hard for you?"

Aurora nodded weakly. She could not imagine what it would be like if a weak girl like herself became the Queen of a powerful kingdom like the Kaspian. Janet is now sitting next to Aurora, her gaze as if remembering events in the past.

"Do you know the reason for Madam Elizabeth's question?"

Aurora fell silent, not thinking at all about the reason Elizabeth asked her. He was too scared and drowned in every word of Elizabeth

"Madam Elizabeth was the wife of Duke Perceval, an excellent and wise Duke, Prince Abhlesh even wept over his death, do you know what happened after the Duke's death?"

Aurora shook her head weakly, her gaze locked on Janet. Her eyes seemed to ask Janet to tell her everything.

"Madam Elizabeth could not even cry over her husband, she was forced to always be strong and accepted the post of Duchess Perceval, a woman who has just lost her most beloved husband must be immersed in the crumbling politics of the Caspian."

Aurora was flabbergasted, not the slightest thought came to her that Elizabeth was experiencing it all. Janet smiled looking at the girl's expression and gently stroked Aurora's hair.

"If it wasn't for Madam Elizabeth, the Kaspian might have been immersed in the war and Prince Abhlesh might have been killed."

Janet stood in front of Aurora. The woman smiled at Aurora and stared inside her face.

"Madam Elizabeth may just want to make sure if you deserve to stand next to Prince Abhlesh and become the Caspian Queen, strengthen yourself Princess Aurora, The Prince may want you to accept this challenge, You're not a weak girl and the Prince knows it."

Aurora was down to hear Janet's words. He got the encouragement he needed to answer that question. To him now, there is nothing more precious than Abhlesh.

"Janet, can you help me get ready to meet Madam Elizabeth?"

Janet smiled at Aurora's words that were now filled with confidence. He saw Aurora's eyes filled with confidence. Janet called out to some servants who had been waiting outside. The woman prepares for Aurora who will again challenge the obstacles Elizabeth presents.

While Aurora, the girl tries to strengthen herself and is determined to start everything. He was no longer drowning in doubt and his steps looked strong as he walked down the corridor towards Cleo region. Aurora has now taken a step that will change her life forever and she will never regret her decision today. A Princess who will be known as the Queen of Kaspian's most proud now begins her first steps.
