Chapter 22: The Flower Garden

Elizabeth now sits in the gazebo of the flower garden. She enjoys the beauty of the garden with a cup of tea in her hand. Cleo's flower garden was the thing she looked forward to the most when visiting the Caspian palace. All the memories of his daughter's past seemed to come back to life in this park.

Elizabeth is not just enjoying the beauty of the park. He was waiting for a girl who might meet him. The expectations for the girl were actually not very high. Elizabeth chose to wait for him.

"Do you think she's coming Madam?"

The knight standing beside him looked doubtful when he asked that. Elizabeth did not care. If he has made an appointment with someone, then it must be kept even though the person did not come or make him disappointed. At least sacrificing time to know someone's character is not the thing that makes it heavy.

"You talk too much Leo."

Elizabeth answered Leo's question briefly. The woman hinted that Leo would not interfere in her affairs this time and kept quiet before Elizabeth told her to leave. Leo just smiled and slightly bowed his body in salute.

The atmosphere was calm again and the sound of birds visiting made the park even more lively. The sun is increasingly slipping and shows orange light twilight. Elizabeth sighed and intended to leave the place. He no longer wished for the girl. But her steps came to a halt as Aurora was seen running down the aisle towards Cleo's garden.

Elizabeth smiled and a moment later her face returned expressionless. She didn't want him to see her smile, especially for now. His eyes stared intently at the girl who looked panicked when she saw him. The girl was now in front of him and her breathing sounded very fast.

"Are you running to this place?"

The question made Aurora stand up straight and catch her breath. He did not expect Elizabeth to wait until the last second of the afternoon. Now the entire palace has been illuminated by lights installed in every corner of the palace.

"Sorry to make you tun-in"

"Quite, I don't want to waste any more time, say what you want to say, before I get bored and actually leave this place."

Elizabeth cut Aurora's sentence and walked towards the gazebo not far from them.

"Wait for what else? don't tell me you want to talk standing up?"

Elizabeth sighed when she saw Aurora rushing after her. Now they sat facing each other and some waiters poured tea in their cups.

"So ... What do you want to say?"

That question Elizabeth said without looking at Aurora's face. The girl began to feel the same pressure from Elizabeth as when in the room this afternoon. The woman looked relaxed, but something seemed to make Elizabeth's aura different. Aurora set her breath to stay calm and tried to endure Elizabeth's pressure.

"I came to answer Madam's question in the meeting room this afternoon."

Elizabeth did not respond to Aurora's words and turned her eyes to the flower garden. Elizabeth doesn't care what Aurora says to her. She shows that Aurora is no longer in her sight and that she must give up as Queen Kaspian.

"The question is A-"

"Aurora Arcadian, do you think nobles have a lot of time?"

Aurora fell silent, not expecting Elizabeth to cut her sentence without even looking at her. Elizabeth's pretty face made Aurora a little scared and felt that the woman before her was really scary. Elizabeth can easily make others feel humiliated and inferior just because she is not staring at the person.

"No madam."

"Then speak, sorry if I don't know the manners in Arcadian, but here."

Elizabeth glanced at Aurora. He showed a very hard and sharp attitude towards the girl. Elizabeth was like a queen cornered her servant.

"So what's the answer to my question?"

Aurora tried to keep up with the aura of Elizabeth who kept suppressing her. The girl tried to get out of Elizabeth's pressure and stood on the same stage as the woman. But the more he tried, the stronger the pressure he felt.

Elizabeth looked at the girl. He did not expect Aurora to ask for his help and did not try to fight him. The girl seemed resigned and gave up on Elizabeth who was far above her.

"Did you give up?"

Aurora shook her head with that question. She did not want to give up, but she could not answer Elizabeth's questions about being a Queen.

"Then?"

"I just can't answer Madam, everything feels foreign and I don't know it at all, which is why I'm asking you to teach me everything, so that later I can answer Madam's questions with pride."

Aurora lowered her head and looked begging. While Elizabeth was still flabbergasted by the girl's answer before her. He still could not believe that the girl was asking for his help which looked like an enemy rather than avoiding him. Elizabeth did not like the way this girl was, but she did not want Aurora to fall into the hands of other nobles and become a sword for the Caspian.

The Kaspian state is calm and full of peace. But nothing is certain in this world, all possibilities are bound to happen and Elizabeth is not the type of person who likes to dream. He always prepares everything to face the worst.

"Get up your head, a Queen must not bow her head to anyone but her husband."

Elizabeth was still curious about Aurora. He saw the potential of this girl, only Aurora was still a little naive. She still looks at the world with one eye and Elizabeth wants to change it all. For Elizabeth, the Kaspian is everything.

"Are you ready to go through everything Miss Aurora?"

Aurora nodded with Elizabeth's question. He seemed to see a hope from the abyss that made him almost fall. Even though the abyss looked precipitous, Aurora remained determined to pass through it and would not regret anything that happened later.

"You should know one thing ..."

Elizabeth stood up and looked at Aurora. The look in his eyes was as if a sword was forcing Aurora down. But the girl managed to fight him a little and locked her eyes on it.

"At any time you complain .. then you will return to this place and cry over fate like a loser who lies to himself."

Elizabeth's words sounded sharp to Aurora. But the girl did not care and was determined to prove to Elizabeth that she deserved to be with Abhlesh. The determination of the girl had been round and her eyes were as if a fire had never been extinguished.

"Prepare yourself, you're leaving after the palace banquet tonight and ...."

Elizabeth turned around after descending a few steps from the stairs. He looked at Aurora and now Aurora could see the indescribable smile on her face. Only a moment, after that Elizabeth's face returned expressionless and cold.

"I hope you're not late for the show."

Elizabeth hurriedly prepared herself for the palace banquet. While Aurora looks excited and runs towards her room. She doesn't want to disappoint Elizabeth and Abhlesh tonight. At least the girl had stepped towards the new gate of her life. Although she had absolutely no idea that being under Elizabeth's training would make her cry all night. Let it be, let the girl feel the beauty of tonight and fight like a soldier the next day.
