Chapter 14: Memories

Aurora's consciousness disappeared as the man's thumb pressed against his forehead. He woke up in a room with many mirrors. Each mirror has a surface like water and lines up neatly as far as the eye can see. The curious-possessed Aurora pointed her finger at the mirror, until someone held her hand and made her flinch.

A man suddenly restrained his hand and stood beside Aurora. The girl gasped and tried to let go of the man's hand. However his grip was very strong and when Aurora saw him, the man was Igrit.

"S-Sir Igrit, ap-"

"Don't touch that mirror before I say."

Igrit pulled Aurora's hand and took the girl away from the mirror. They walked down a hallway-like place full of other mirrors."

"Where are we sir?"

"Your memory, and that mirror is what you saw in your life."

Aurora looked at the place in amazement. A place full of mirrors and memories during his life. Now they stand in front of a mirror located far enough from the first mirror.

"Touch the mirror's surface and don't sink in it."

The sentence of Igrit slightly made Aurora doubtful. But that look forced him to touch the mirror. The girl slowly touched the mirror before her. When his finger touched, he was sucked into the mirror and all the information entered his brain like a movie playing fast.

Aurora tried to hold on and felt the grip of Igrit's hand growing stronger. When the girl almost lost her consciousness, Igrit pulled her too. Aurora's face was very pale, her body was limp and lost a great deal of strength. While Igrit just looked at him expressionlessly at all.

"What did you get?"

The sentence Igrit made Aurora aware. In the terrible process Aurora seemed to see everything she had forgotten. The impossible childhood memories he remembered seemed to be written clearly in his mind.

"Sir, who is that beautiful woman in the mirror?"

Igrit forces Aurora to get up and do something to her body. All the fatigue and trauma Aurora felt disappeared without a trace.

"Your mother, Queen Halet, we don't have much time, you should do the same in the other mirror."

Aurora nodded weakly, herself eager to question everything. But Igrit always replied coldly. Aurora was completely unaware that inside here, she had no emotions at all. He could not even cry when information regarding his father's death entered his mind.

The last mirror he had touched and when he was about to ask, Igrit also pushed his back. What Igrit did forced the girl's consciousness back into the real world. When she regained consciousness, Aurora took a deep breath as if she was losing oxygen.

Aurora looked at Igrit with a tearful look. He did not expect that Igrit brought him to the terrible facts about Arcadian and his past. Igrit just stood next to Abhlesh without even looking at Aurora.

"Are you calm?"

Abhlesh breaks down the barrage of questions in Aurora's mind. The girl lowered her head and came back crying. Abhlesh wiped away the girl's tears and smiled at her.

"Tell me about that day, the day Luxius got it all."

Aurora nodded weakly. His lips quivered as he told of the death of King Alfred his father and his mother who fled without taking him. Luxius and Isabella made her a princess because they could not kill the little Aurora. He protected his Elf mother Mana and ended up being raised full of lies.

Luxius intends to give Aurora to the Dragon Emperor for their help in the coup. Even the Dragon Emperor himself intervened to kill King Alfred in the presence of his own baby. The death was so tragic that Aurora's heart was squeezed and smashed to pieces.

Now the girl just bowed down and left deep regret and sadness. Abhlesh rubbed the girl's back and tried to calm her down.

"You can meet Halet if you want."

"Yes, you could have met Queen Halet, but not so soon, the Elves are not a race that easily believes other races and for your mother's case ...."

Igrit gave something to Abhlesh. An object similar to a badge and made of wood. On the badge was engraved an emblem that Aurora was familiar with. The emblem was carried by her mother everywhere and Aurora had it in her jewelry box.

"This emblem, is the royal coat of arms of the Elves and your mother is one of the royal families, because it's not easy to meet Halet."

Abhlesh gave the object to Aurora. It turned out to be his that was left behind in the Arcadian palace.

"So how can I meet with His Majesty?"

"Igrit will take care of everything and what you need to do now is ...."

Abhlesh stood beside Aurora and brought her face closer to the girl.

"Prepare yourself to accompany me to the festival and the palace dinner tonight."

Abhlesh left Aurora who could only bow down in shame. Igrit followed Abhlesh and gently patted Aurora on the shoulder. The girl looked at Igrit and saluted and thanked him. Igrit simply replied to all of that with a wave of hands hinting that it was nothing. Until finally Janet and Iva ran towards Aurora the girl kept smiling and crying again in Janet's arms.

"What about the girl?"

Igrit threw a question at Abhlesh who was walking in front of him.

"Not bad, it's just that the girl needs a little upbringing from Janet and some things about Kaspian."

"Do you like it?"

Abhlesh's steps stopped. The man turned around and a cold smile was engraved on his face. The smile Igrit always sees when the man doesn't like someone's question. Igrit sighed passing in front of Abhlesh.

"If you don't move quickly, the girl could have been taken by someone else."

Abhlesh was speechless with Igrit's words and smiled at the man.

"Like the story of the Dragon who lost his love for losing a competition with a human?"

Abhlesh laughed loosely, while Igrit sighed and chose not to argue with Abhlesh. Igrit seemed to accept Abhlesh's statement and vice versa. Now they were walking towards the military barracks and Abhlesh was looking forward to this day. The day that one of his creations would appear in the punishment he would give the Dragon Emperor.

Igrit who will be the executor in the mission this time only shook his head to see the excited Abhlesh. Abhlesh walked over with a smile and occasionally a singing voice came out of his mouth. While the Dragon emperor? that person did not even know that soon his Empire would collapse and without a fight.
