Chapter 51. Light Conversations in the Dining Room

The gentle rub of someone's finger on her face teased Laura from her deep sleep, forcing her to have to open both her tightly shut eyes.

"I woke you up ?" Prince Albert's voice greeted.

Laura focused her gaze on Prince Albert who was looking down at her. Prince Albert sits next to the sofa right next to him.

"Are you here, Your Majesty ?" Laura asked as she moved into a sitting position.

"Just now, about five minutes ago." Prince Albert smiled faintly at Laura's clumsy behavior.

"I knocked on the door from the outside but there was no reply from the inside so I was forced to enter, by chance your room door was unlocked." Prince Albert added.

Laura tidied up her hair that must have looked messy after lying down. "I'm sorry I didn't hear you knocking on the door. Why didn't you wake me up as soon as you came in ?"

"You fell asleep really well, I didn't have the heart to wake you up but it turns out you're very sensitive to touch."

"Why did you meet me ? Is there anything you want to say ?"

"It's lunch time."

"really ? I fell asleep long enough." Laura was shocked to hear Prince Albert.

"But you don't have to bother coming alone just to tell a little thing like this. There are many servants you can order to do this." Laura added, I was aware of the situation that was going on.

Prince Albert frowned. "Why ? Can't it be ?"

Laura reflexively shook her head upon hearing Prince Albert's changing tone of voice.

"May, of course you can. This is His Majesty's palace and of course His Majesty can do anything within this palace."

It seems the mood of Prince Albert is still not good, since this morning until the situation. A little mispronunciation can already offend him. Laura complained inwardly as she lowered her face not daring to stare at Prince Albert's face.

Laura felt Prince Albert's warm lips land on her forehead.

Prince Albert moved away, Laura opened her eyes. Staring with a puzzled expression with the unexpected actions of Prince Albert.

"We'd better have lunch now." Prince Albert said as he moved up from his seat.

"Eh ! aye." Laura moved, stood up and followed Prince Albert from behind, who walked first to the door of the room.

It really confused me with the sudden change in attitude, in Laura's heart while looking at Prince Albert's back.

"Tonight I have to attend a dinner banquet hosted by the prime minister at the hotel, tonight you are forced to have dinner alone." Prince Albert said at lunch.

"Your Majesty." Laura according.

"You don't wonder why I didn't take you with me when you were my fiancee ?"

"No, you must have your reasons for not taking me with you."

"You don't want to ask me why ?"

"I don't have to ask, you'll tell me if I need to." Laura replied casually.

Prince Albert was silent at Laura's words.

"Is there anything wrong with His Majesty's words ?" Laura asked back.

"What are your plans today after lunch ?" Prince Albert asked a few more moments later.

Laura shakes her head. "Nothing but maybe if I get bored I'll go around looking at the view and get to know the state of His Majesty's palace.

Your Majesty doesn't mind, does he ?" Laura asked a little doubtfully.

"May, of course you can. You don't need my permission for that, you can do anything in this palace as long as it's still in its reasonable stages. Once we get married this shawl will also be yours."

"Thank you Your Majesty." Laura replied briefly, although very eager but she refrained from commenting on the last sentence of Prince Albert.

The rest, lunch that day they finished in silence.

After finishing his lunch, Prince Albert immediately moved to stand up.

"I'm saying goodbye first, there's something I'm going to prepare for dinner tonight."

"Isn't the banquet still very long ?it's not one o'clock by noon yet." Laura spontaneously spoke.

Prince Albert's movement stopped, who was about to stand up, now sits back in his chair.

Prince Albert's forehead raised next to the expression of the jail staring at Laura's face.

"Why did I hear such a dislike tone from your words just now, don't tell me you're angry because I didn't take you with me."

"Your Majesty don't joke, it's only His Majesty's feeling. I can't possibly be angry just because of such a small thing, even I'm so glad I shouldn't have to go with His Majesty."

"Why is it like that ?"

"Because of the previous events while attending such an event, His Majesty was only busy with others and ignored my presence."

"I'm sorry if Your Majesty is offended, I'm just honestly answering a question from Your Majesty." Laura added quickly, fearing to offend Prince Albert.

"It's okay, I'm glad you started to open up by honestly answering my question." Prince Albert said it really.

"really ?" Laura asked uncertainly, recalling Prince Albert's unfavourable mood since this morning.

"Yes, I can't lie to you."

"Good." Laura said with a sigh of relief, Laura's manner made Prince Albert smile knotty.

Prince Albert glanced at the small watch on his wrist.

"Sorry Ara, I have to go now. Don't hesitate to ask the waiter if there's anything you need." Prince Albert's message before moving to stand.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Sorry, Your Majesty !." Laura suddenly exclaimed to make Prince Albert stop and turned his body facing back at Laura.

"What's up Ara?" The prince patiently responded to Laura's behavior which continued to hinder her departure.

"Does it matter if I go inside His Majesty's room when I see the state of this palace ?"

"But if you can't, it doesn't matter. I just want to excuse you first if you accidentally enter one of the rooms that turns out to be Your Majesty's room." Laura craved it quickly, giving an explanation so that Prince Albert did not misunderstand.

Prince Albert smiled at Laura's explanation which sounded a little nervous.

"It's okay, come in if you want." Prince Albert said.

"Thank you Your Majesty."

"Is there anything else you want to talk about ?"

Laura shakes her head. "Nothing Your Majesty."

"All right then I'll go first."

"Yes." Yeah."
