Chapters 19. The Unexpected Guest

The sound of alarm clock alarms by the bedside nightstand woke Laura from her sleep.

The lingering drowsiness made Laura painstakingly open her two eyes.

"Today I have no plans anywhere, I better go back to sleep. Oh, my God, I'm so sleepy." Laura muttered lazily to turn off the alarm sound from her alarm clock.

After turning off the alarm, Laura pulled back the blanket wrapped around her body and went back to sleep.

Downstairs all the other family members had gathered for breakfast.

"Where's Laura ? Why hasn't he come down for breakfast ?" ask Papa.

"He was still sleeping, he said sleepily because of the inability to read a book to sleep late at night." Bella answered.

"You asked him directly ?" Mama asked.

"Yes, before I went down I stopped by the door of his room, I knocked but there was no reply from inside and it just so happened that the door of his room was unlocked so I went in." Bella replied, starting to eat her breakfast.

"Let's go, he's often like that. If he wakes up and starves, he'll go straight to the kitchen for food." Say Papa and start eating his breakfast.

Mama could only sigh deeply, looking at Laura's behavior. They had breakfast without Laura.

After breakfast Mama drove Papa to the front door of the house to go to work. Papa opened the car door about to enter but stopped because the gate was open. Enter a black sedan with a royal license plate, stopping just behind Papa's car parked in front of the entrance stairs.

From the front seat came the bodyguard in a black suit, opening the passenger door.

The car door opened, Prince Albert got down from the car in an elegant style.

Mama and Papa were stunned by Prince Albert's presence in their house early in the morning.

"Good morning Mr and Mrs George, sorry my arrival this morning made it seem to surprise you." Prince Albert smiled at the look on the faces of Laura's parents.

The words of Prince Albert awakened them. Papa immediately closed the car door again, not so to go because of the presence of guests who were not expected to come.

"I'm sorry for the disrespect we welcome you. Please come in Your Majesty." Papa politely invited Prince Albert to enter the house.

"Thank you." Prince Albert walked first and then followed Mama and Papa from behind.

Mama opened the door for Prince Albert to enter the house first. As soon as he entered, Papa invited Prince Albert to sit down.

"Please sit down, Your Majesty." Papa said kindly.

Prince Albert sat down first and followed Papa while Mama went inside to let Papa talk to Prince Albert.

"You must have been surprised and unexpected that I was in your house this morning."

Papa smiled awkwardly. "Honest is actually very true, Your Majesty." Papa admitted it.

"I'm sorry, there's actually such an important thing that your Majesty alone should come to our house." Papa added.

"There are things I want to say and actually it does not have to be me who comes directly to convey this message just that I also want to see my fiancee's house."

"Thank you that Your Majesty would like to come visit here."

"If you may know what message you are carrying."

"Mother delivered a message so that Laura would get a manners education before the wedding was held. This is so that he is good at putting himself as a member of the royal family."

"I understand and please say thank you to our family for the kindness of Her Majesty the Queen."

"Where's Laura ?" prince Albert asked suddenly.

"I'll take Laura to the palace today."

Papa's surprised. "Starting today ?"

"His manners education will start tomorrow at the palace, today it's just an introduction to the teachers who will teach him."

Papa nodded in understanding. "I understand."

"Where's Laura ?" Prince Albert asked again.

"Laura is in His Majesty's room, I will tell him to come down immediately." Papa stood up, a little nervous because Laura was still sleeping in her room.

Prince Albert stood up. "If Mr George doesn't mind if you can show him his room ? I'll talk to him directly."

"Well, Your Majesty, please come with me." Papa's drunk, not sure what's going to happen.

Papa escorted Prince Albert through the living room up the stairs to Laura's room on the second floor.

They stopped at Laura's door. "This is Laura's room, Your Honor." Said Papa.

"Thank you Mr George, can I come in ?" Prince Albert asked again.

"Of course, Your Majesty, I'll knock on the door for you." Papa offered, intending to knock on the door a little harder to wake Laura up.

"No need for Mr. George, let me be alone." Reject Prince Albert with the intention of telling Papa to go and leave him alone.

"Okay, Your Majesty, I'm going down." Papa was forced.

Prince Albert nodded and Papa turned away with a heavy heart.

Mama approached Papa who came down from the second floor. "How's Pa ?" ask Mama worried.

"Of course, Papa doesn't know what's coming next. We can only hope that Prince Albert will not be offended by the situation that is unfolding." Papa said expectantly.

Tok tok tok tok

Prince Albert knocked on Laura's door.

A few seconds waiting but no word or sound from the room. Prince Albert pushed the door knob and the door opened.

"His bedroom door was unlocked, he was careless not to notice such a small thing." Prince Albert's murmured pushed the door open.

The condition of the room is calm and dim, curtains still cover the window of the room that blocks sunlight from entering. From the door Prince Albert could see black hair on a white pillow.

"She was still sleeping, because her parents looked uneasy when I said I wanted to meet." Prince Albert muttered with a smile as he closed the door of the room.

With slow footsteps, Prince Albert approached the bed. He sat by the bed slowly without making a sound.

With a serious face noticed the innocent face of Laura who was soundly asleep. Unknowingly her hand outstretched wanting to touch Laura's face. His hand slowly rubbed Laura's cheek then into her nose and continued onto her lips.

Laura moved a little annoyed with Prince Albert's touch but fell back asleep as Prince Albert lifted his hand from Laura's face.

"He slept so well, I couldn't bear to build it." Prince Albert smiled again.

Prince Albert stood circulating his gaze looking at the state of Laura's room. Inside the room were two bookshelves that dominated and a dressing table like the women's room in general. Beside the bed there is a peach-colored soft sofa with a table containing books that are not neatly arranged.

Prince Albert stepped closer to the table, curious about the titles of the books lying there.

Prince Albert picked up one book that caught his attention, sat on the sofa opening the book cover and started reading while waiting for Laura to wake up.
