Chapters 18. Prince Albert's Stiffness

The knocking of the door from outside his study disrupted the concentration of Prince Albert who was seriously reading the file that was on his desk.

"Lock !" Prince Albert said.

The door opened, the palace secretary came in.

"What's up ? why did you come here so early in the morning ?" Prince Albert asked.

"Sorry to bother you, Your Majesty, there's a little problem I want to tell you." The palace secretary was still standing in his position upon entering, in the middle of the room.

Prince Albert closed the file he was reading, looking seriously at the palace secretary.

"All right, I heard it."

The palace secretary walked over to Prince Albert's desk once he got permission.

"There are posts from community accounts spread and many in comments on the Internet and social media."

"What is the content of the upload until it makes you come early in the morning here."

"The post contained a video of Miss Laura being in a movie theater with a man."

"really ?" Prince Albert asked, interested in hearing the words of the palace secretary to him.

"You have the video ?" Prince Albert added.

"There's Your Majesty, will show." The palace secretary walked over and stopped right next to Prince Albert, pulling out a cell phone from the inside pocket of his suit.

The palace secretary typed in her phone screen before showing a short video on her phone to Prince Albert.

Prince Albert seriously saw the video that was playing on the palace secretary's phone.

"When was this video uploaded ?" prince Albert asked after he finished watching the video.

"Yesterday night, Your Majesty, and it's been watched by many." Answer the palace secretary.

"Quickly you take care of this problem, immediately remove this video do not need problems like this to reach the ears of Father. Don't cause any bigger problems, you understand ?" Prince Albert's orders.

"Your Majesty." The palace secretary replied obediently.

"We don't need to clarify this issue just delete this video from the internet. Before you take care of the matter of the video, you first go to the palace security chief. Tell him to call Edward Adam right away, I want to talk."

"Okay, Your Majesty, but I'm sorry if I was a little presumptuous. Is the man in the video Edward Adam ? the bodyguard you ordered to look after Miss Laura ?"

"Yes, he's the one in the video."

The palace secretary nodded in understanding. "All right, I get it. I'll do your orders soon." Pamit the palace secretary before turning away.

After breakfast, Laura sat in the living room with her cell phone in her hand.

Laura is busy scrolling social media, looking at the status of people who appear on her porch. The movement of his fingers stopped when he saw the video uploaded and shared appeared on his social media homepage.

Is this not me ? This woman's clothes are the same as the ones I wore yesterday.

Laura was surprised and not so sure because the video she saw was recorded from the back of the woman.

Yes, the woman in this video is me. It's a video of yesterday when Edward and I were at the movie theater.

Laura said confidently after seeing Edward's face recorded from the side. In the video, they both seem to be telling stories.

Why would they want to record myself without permission first ? it's called violating someone's privacy.

Laura began to get upset and grow furious as she read the caption below it written that the woman who looks like Prince Albert's fiancee was walking alone with a man.

"Based on people who have no job." Laura grumbled, putting her phone roughly on the sofa next to her.

Laura looked back at Edward. "There's a guy who recorded us both yesterday when we were at the movies to watch." Laura replied with a rude snort.

"Hmmm." Edward's murmuring was unclear.

Laura just realized Edward's neat appearance. "You're so neat Edward, you want to get out ?" Laura asked curiously because only this time Edward was out on his own without her since he was assigned to look after her.

"Yes Miss, I was summoned by Prince Albert to the palace."

"Don't tell me you were called because of that video." Laura said with a guilty face.

"Like it's not about that video." Edward said sure, did not want to burden Laura's mind even though the video may actually be the reason he was called by Prince Albert.

Laura smiled with relief. "It's good that that's not why you're called."

"I'll excuse you then, Miss Laura. For a while when I'm not around, you better not go out." Edward's Message.

"All right."

Edward nodded his head before stepping towards the front door of the house.

At the royal palace inside his personal library, Prince Albert was reading a book while awaiting Edward's arrival. His concentration for work was lost and he chose to read one of the books on the bookshelf.

Tok tok tok tok

Knock the door from outside.

"Lock !" Prince Albert said.

The door opened, Edward emerged from behind the door and closed the door behind him.

"Your Majesty called me ?" ask Edward.

Prince Albert closed the book he had read.

"Come on Edward." Prince Albert ordered Edward to stand in his place at the door.

Edward stepped closer to Prince Albert's desk and stopped right in front of the desk, standing straight regardless of the chair beside him.

"You know what the reason you called me here is ?" prince Albert asked with a serious look.

Edward was silent, looking straight at Prince Albert.

"The secretary of the royal palace came to me, he showed me a video spread across the internet. Video of Laura and you having a conversation in a movie theater. Can you explain ?"

"Yesterday Miss Laura and her best friend made an appointment to go see a movie but when Miss Laura was there her best friend couldn't come because she was suddenly not feeling well. Since she was already there, Miss Laura decided to keep watching the movie." Edward explained.

"Okay your explanation I understand but do you remember your main task ?"

"Remember, Your Highness, my primary duty is to keep Miss Laura safe."

"It's good that if you remember it, you're his personal bodyguard not his best friend so behave according to your duties. Take care of your attitude Edward, he is my future wife and future Queen of this country. This is the first and last time I'm warning you, you know what I mean, right ?" Prince Albert said coldly, staring firmly at Edward.

"I understand Your Majesty, I will remember what you said." Edward said obediently.

"Good." Prince Albert said with relief. "You're a competent person, I don't want to lose someone like you just because of a misunderstanding." Plus, leaning back in his chair.

"Thank you Your Majesty." Said Edward received a compliment from Prince Albert.

"You can go now, back to George's family."

"Okay, Your Majesty, I'll excuse you." Pamit Edward, looked down to pay his respects before turning away.
