Chapter 38. The Mood of a Murderous Heart
"So this woman turned out to be your fiancee ?" Prince Eric said as he assessed Laura from head to toe.
"Actually I really wonder why you accepted this engagement if you look at your nature. Turns out you're in a match with a very beautiful woman." Prince Eric praised Laura.
"Thank you for Your Majesty's praise." Laura replied kindly to the words of Prince Eric who praised him while Prince Albert just smiled broadly.
"Why didn't you take Laura with you yesterday when I asked you to meet ?"Prince Eric asked curiously.
"I deliberately didn't bring her, I didn't want Laura to get too close to a lot of men enough to be with me alone" Prince Albert's possessive-sounding remark surprised the two of them.
"Well, this time I saw your possessive attitude toward women." Prince Eric was astonished as he shook his head in disbelief.
"I didn't expect myself to behave like this either."
Reflexes lowered their heads, rolling their eyes to hear the conversation of the two Princes.
Their conversation bored me, especially Prince Albert. She wanted to make everyone in the room believe that we were both in love.
"You want something Ara ?" ask Prince Albert.
Laura looked up at Prince Albert. "Mocktail only Your Majesty."
Prince Albert raised his hand, coding the servant who was standing not far from them to approach.
Laura raised her hand to take the drink that the waiter brought but Prince Albert's hand took it and handed it to Laura.
"Thank you." Laura said as she received her drink glass.
"Everything dear." Reply Prince Albert.
"So what are your plans after this ?" prince Eric asked the two of them.
"We might just come back." Answer Prince Albert.
Prince Eric understood. "It's a pity we only met for a moment." Prince Eric to Laura.
Laura smile. "We can meet if His Majesty visits Norway."
"Of course it's like that, we should meet when I come there."
Suddenly a man in a black suit stood right beside Prince Eric and whispered something to him.
"Albert, I'll excuse you for a second." Prince Eric said after the man in the black suit left.
"Of course." Prince Albert replied before Prince Eric stepped away leaving the two of them.
Prince Albert looked at Laura intensely.
"Why are you wearing a dress like this ?" prince Albert asked with a displeased face.
"I didn't expect this dress to turn out like this either, I tried to cover it with my hair but His Majesty told me to tidy up my hair."
Prince Albert moved to unbutton the suit he wore then took off his suit, moving closer to Laura who then put his black suit into Laura's body.
Prince Albert whispered in Laura's ear. "After this you should pay more attention to the clothes that you will wear Ara. No other man can see your body but me. Do you understand Ara ?"
Laura nodded in understanding. "Yes, Your Majesty, I understand." Laura said according to hearing Prince Albert's intimidating tone of voice.
"Good, that's my new girl."
There was music dancing in the room.
"You don't want to dance ?" A female voice suddenly sounded between them.
Princess Elenna stepped closer to the two of them.
"You're so pretty tonight Laura." Praise Princess Elenna for standing before them.
"Thank you Princess Elenna, you are also very beautiful tonight." Reply Laura.
"You two don't want to dance ?" Princess Elenna asked again.
Laura smiled wryly. "I'm not comfortable dancing while wearing this suit on my shoulder."
"Of course not, why mind if Prince Albert wants to dance with you."
"How's Albert ?" Ask Princess Elenna.
"Of course you can." Prince Albert said a hand that was immediately welcomed by Princess Elenna.
They stepped towards the center of the room where there were already several couples dancing.
Laura who was already uncomfortable preferred to step out of the room towards the door that led to the flower garden.
Looking at the garden chair that was not far from the door, Laura also chose to sit on the chair.
"Why are you sitting here alone Miss Laura ?" Edward's voice broke Laura's daydream.
Without Laura knowing, Edward was already standing next to the garden chair.
"Ah ! You Edward, you were standing there ?"
"Just now." Edward replied as he sat on the empty side of the chair.
"What did you ask me ?"
"Why are you sitting here alone ? Where's Prince Albert."
"Prince Albert is inside, dancing with Princess Elenna."
"Why don't you dance with Prince Albert ?"
"I don't want to dance, I want to go home soon but the situation is not possible."
"Then you want me to sit here ?"
"May but I'm lazy to talk."
"It's okay, I just want to accompany you and look after you because it's my duty."
After her they just sat quietly while looking at the beauty of the park, heard from inside the building the sound of music and the sound of laughter of people who were in the room.
I don't know how long they've been sitting in silence.
"Have you had dinner ?" edward asked to break the silence.
Laura turned the glass in her hand. "Not yet, I'm having no taste for eating."
"You'll get sick if you don't eat."
Laura smiled wryly. "I know, I'll see when I get home. I'll get the waiter to make me a fruit salad."
"That sounds good, I'll make it for you myself."
"You're good at cooking Edward ?" Ask Laura curiously.
"Of course I can, I who live alone should be able to cook and take care of myself."
"That's it..."
"Miss Laura, can you cook yourself ?"Edward asked curiously.
Laura smiled shyly as she shook her head. "Can't Edward, I rarely go to the kitchen."
"It's no surprise that you grew up in an environment where everything was fulfilled, especially when you were going to marry Prince Albert, Crown Prince of Norway."
"If you may know, you yourself come from a family who how Edward ?" I asked Laura suddenly.
"I'm sorry if my question is sudden, you don't have to answer it." Laura felt that Edward was uncomfortable with the questions she was asking.
"No problem Miss Laura, I'm glad you're so curious about my life." Edward smiled calmly.
"There's nothing special about my life, the point is I come from a well-to-do family." Edward said briefly.
