Chapter 4. Disappointment of Laura

After dinner George's family gathered in the living room. Laura who impatiently knew the outcome of her Papa meeting with the King immediately asked.

"How's Papa ? what did King Arthur say ?" Laura asked with a curious face full of hope.

Papa and Mama glanced at each other, not having the heart to see the disappointment that would be seen on Laura's face once they said King Arthur's decision.

"Fuck..... ." Said Papa giving a pause.

"Yes ?" Sahut Laura curious.

"So early in the morning when I met the King, Papa had already said your wish but King Arthur did not allow it." Said Papa.

Laura's face instantly changed as soon as she heard Papa's words.

"Sorry Ara, Papa can't deny King Arthur's orders." Papa added looking at Laura who was just speechless in her seat.

Hearing Papa's words made my mind empty. I don't know what to say or how to react. My last hope is gone, I somehow live my life forward.

"Baby..... ." Call Mama slow, break Laura's daydream.

I looked back at Mama, my eyes warmed with tears I could no longer bear to get out.

"Mom can I not get married ?" Laura asked in a hoarse voice from crying.

"Sorry Ara can't, King Arthur is planning your engagement day with the royal family and royal advisors." Said the father regretfully.

"Dear, Mama knows it's hard for you but what if it's like this. I hope you can live it." Persuade Mama slowly.

"Mom....." Bella doesn't know what to say.

"Ara go back to the room first." Laura said slowly, wiping away her tears and getting up on her feet.

They were all just speechless looking at Laura who was walking away.

Arriving in her room Laura immediately threw her body on the bed. Hiding his face behind a pillow sobbed, cursing a will that he thought was absurd.

Why did grandfather have to make such a deal ?

If Grandpa was still alive I would have asked Grandpa to cancel the agreement.

Getting married to the royal family is nothing special but my lost freedom plus all the strict rules of the royal family.

Lord....if indeed my destiny is like this, only one wish I may behind all this there is a good and beautiful thing waiting.

This morning all the students who will be at graduation have been sitting in their respective seats. Activities are carried out in the park beside the campus area, clear weather also supports the activities today.

The location of the student seat that will be at graduation is in the middle while the parents or families who attend to sit on the right and left side seats facing the direction of the student seats which will be at graduation.

Parents or families who come are also seen to have filled the seats provided for them because soon the activities will begin.

Laura and Charlotte to be next to each other in the front row seats.

"How is the best student of the year ? already providing a speech ?" Charlotte teases Laura who is just speechless in her chair.

Laura smiled at him. "Already, the speech is also not long so that other friends are not saturated to hear it so as not to reduce the joy today."

"You don't want to come with me on vacation after coming from here ? It's a moment that fits Ara for a vacation after a long time we fought hard to get to this stage." Charlotte again persuaded Laura after a few days ago Laura rejected her invitation.

Because I was waiting for news from King Arthur about the day of my engagement to Prince Albert, Laura said in a frustrated heart.

"Ara why did I notice these few days you look somber like a person with a very serious problem. If there's anything you want to tell me I can be a good listener, you know that's not it ?" Charlotte said sympathetically.

Laura looked at Charlotte. "Actually now is not the right time for me to discuss this matter with you but since you have offended her I will be speaking honestly about the matter I am going through." Said Laura who was nodding in understanding by Charlotte.

"I'm actually getting married." Laura added.

Charlotte smiled at him. "Thank you !? Congratulations Ara, I didn't expect !" Charlotte said excitedly.

"Who will marry you ? Why don't you ever tell me you have a boyfriend when we're best friends." Charlotte added with a slight dislike tone.

"Don't get mad, I don't have a Charlotte boyfriend. I got married because I'm in a match." Laura said.

"In a matchmaker ?" Charlotte said she wasn't sure who Laura's nodding her head back.

"Yes, my betrothal to my late grandfather's will."

"It doesn't seem like something that's encouraging for you to see from your reaction to this match."

"Yes it was because my desire to work in the royal library could not materialize once I got married later." Laura said grimly.

"Isn't that too restrictive for Ara ?" Charlotte said she disagreed.

"You see, my future husband's family said that and Papa had to agree to it."

"If this matchmaking is so hard on you why don't you just cancel it ?"

"I can't, if I could've refused this matchmaking from the beginning."

Charlotte was astonished by the words of Laura. "Why can't it ? who is your future husband until you can't cancel this match ? from the nobility ?" Charlotte started to say in a sewot tone.

Laura smiled wryly at the reaction of her best friend. "More than that Charlotte, she's a member of the royal family more precisely Prince Albert the Crown Prince of our kingdom."

"WHAT !!"

Charlotte shouted in surprise instead of play making almost half of the students stare towards the two of them.

"Shhhh.... ."

Laura's reflex raised an index finger to her lips, hinting to be still.

"Laura Clarissa George, you surprised me !" Charlotte said in disbelief as she shook her head.

"I had expected this to be your reaction when I heard this news."

"Of course, who does not expect that you will be paired with the dream man of all women in this country."

Laura rolled her eyes at Charlotte's words that Laura felt were too exaggerated.

"You're overdoing it Charlotte."

"Yes too much for you but for others not my dear Ara.... ." Charlotte said with great pressure.

"Maybe your words are true." Laura admitted with a forced.

"So this is the reason why you can't come with me to go on vacation ?" guess Charlotte.

Laura nodded. "Yes because our family is waiting for news from the royal family regarding the day of our engagement."
