Chapter 40. Story After Travel to Spain

Tok tok tok tok

The sound of knocking on the door interfered with Laura's deep sleep.

"Ara, you've got to wake up baby." Mom exclaimed from behind the door of her room.

Lazily Laura got up from the bed towards the door of the room.

"Didn't you have a schedule to study manners in the palace this morning ?" Mama asked Laura who was still with a sleepy face leaning against the door frame of her room.

"Mom can ask Edward to report to Prince Albert that I can't come today."

Mama frowned hearing Laura's words. "Why dear ? are you sick ?" Mom asked worried.

"Ara doesn't hurt Mama, just not feeling well might be the effect of yesterday's trip."

Mama nodded in understanding. "All right, you'll understand, Mama will tell Edward."

"Thank you Mama, Ara came in first still sleepy to want to sleep."

"You don't want breakfast ?"

"A little more Ma."

"Alright, rest Mama won't bother."

Mama turned away and Laura instantly closed the bedroom door continuing her sleep.

"Where's Ara Mama ?" ask Papa when Mama saw Mama was only alone joined at the dining table.

"He still wants to sleep, he says he's not feeling well." Mama pulled out her chair.

"Ara soy sauce Mama ?" Bella asked.

Mama nodded. "Yes, he asked Mama to tell Edward to tell Prince Albert that he could not come to the palace to attend his lessons."

"Yes, just like that, after breakfast Mama quickly met Edward do not let the palace wait for Laura who apparently could not come."

"Yes Pa." Mama said obediently.

As soon as breakfast was over, Mama went to see Edward to tell Laura how she was.

"Well Mrs George, I'm going to the palace now to see Prince Albert." Obedient Edward.

"Do I need to contact the royal personal doctor to check on Miss Laura ?" Added Edward

"There's no need for Edward, Laura just needs enough rest."

"Well, I'll tell Your Majesty if he asks that question."

Without wasting time, Edward went straight to the royal palace to deliver a message from Mrs George.

"Is there anything important to you to come early in the morning to see me ?" Prince Albert asked curiously putting his coffee mug on the table.

"I've come to deliver a message from Mrs George, Your Majesty."

"Say what's the message ?"

"Madam George told me that this morning Miss Laura could not enter the palace to attend her manners lessons as scheduled due to Miss Laura's unwell condition."

"Laura's a little less healthy ?"

"Yes, Your Highness, probably exhausted from yesterday's trip from Spain."

"Hmmm like that." Prince Albert's murmur.

"Is it necessary for Laura to be examined by a royal personal doctor ?" Prince Albert asked a question that Edward expected Prince Albert to ask.

"Madam George says there's no need for Your Majesty, Miss Laura just needs enough rest."

"All right, you can come back now. Keep me informed if there's anything serious." Prince Albert's orders.

"Your Majesty. I'm sorry then." Edward leaves.

While at the George Family residence, Charlotte who knew the news of Laura's return came to visit after previously calling Laura first.

"Ara baby, open the door." Charlotte is at the door.

"Just open the door, it's not locked." Laura cried from behind the door.

The sound of the door opening from the outside, Charlotte immediately rushed into the room towards the bed.

"If I hadn't called you this morning, you wouldn't have told me about your return." Charlotte said in an accusatory tone to Laura.

Laura took a sitting position on the bed. "I was going to call you this afternoon, it's just that you called me this morning." Laura came back to explain after she said on the phone.

"Huh ! just say that you've forgotten this friend of yours after a few days spent alone with your fiancee abroad." Accuse Charlotte while sitting by the bed.

Laura snorted violently at Charlotte's comments.

"Both whatever, Prince Albert you admire was busy with his women while we were in Spain. He even showed up a few minutes before our departure back here."

"really ?" Charlotte asked unsure.

Laura rolled her two eyes. "Why did I lie to you ? there's no luck in Charlotte."

"That rumor that says he's a playboy turns out to be true ?"

"Of course, you're the only one who's blind to the news because you see his attitude and good looks."

Charlotte looked seriously at Laura. "Then what about you ?"

"Why with me ?" Laura asked back.

"How do you respond to Prince Albert's attitude like that ?"

Laura shrugged both of her shoulders. "How else would I ? From the beginning I refused this marriage but what am I who is not, as well as my family. We can't refuse the King's word, the royal family just accepts this marriage."

"How is the fate of your marriage later Ara ?"

"Let's Charlotte, I've accepted this fate of my life. Wanting to cry for free won't change anything."

They both remained silent for a moment. "How about you make him love you Ara ? that way playboy's attitude might just disappear." Charlotte suddenly gave me an idea.

"Ha ha ha !!" Laura's laughter echoes Charlotte's words.

Charlotte frowned. "Why are you laughing ?"

"There's no way Prince Albert's in love with me."

"Why indeed ?"

"You didn't see the woman he was with ? All women are prettier and sexier than I am."

"We don't know how ?"

"Already Charlotte, just keep that idea out of your head. Hearing your words make my stomach hungry, we better go downstairs for breakfast."

Charlotte glanced at the small clock on her wrist. "It's nine in the morning, haven't you had breakfast yet ?"

Laura shook her head. "Not yet, I was still lazy this morning when Mama called for breakfast."

"All right, I'll have you breakfast downstairs. I want to see Edward, I haven't seen him in a long time." Charlotte said as she stood up.

Laura moved down from the bed. "It's only been three days not seeing Edward, you've been overreacting !"

"He he he his name also misses." Charlotte Semringan's chuckle.

They went down together to the first floor towards the dining room.

"You want breakfast Miss ?" ask waiter.

"Yes please." Laura replied while pulling the dining table chair.

"Well, we'll be ready soon." Maid.

The waiter then walked into the kitchen, preparing breakfast for Laura. Soon they reappeared with food in their hands, arranging all the food neatly on the dining table.
