Chapter 29: Visiting the Governor's Mansion

"Is there nothing else you know about the Kiyomizu clan?" ask Rai to her shadow.

"No! Other than the fact about this clan making a pact with the demons, I didn't get any information! Merely, I discovered the origin of the Ice Dragon that was in the body of that woman!" answer Rai's shadow.

"Originally the Ice Dragon's power?" rai Gumam.

"Yes! I got something about the power of the Ice Dragon in his body! And indirectly, I got information about his mother who is the forty-ninth pure descendant of the Ice Dragon!" reply Rai shadow.

"Hm... So, Rin got that power from her mother?" asked Rai who was replied with a nod by her shadow, "Is her mother still alive?"

"For that question, I cannot answer it! Because I think he was dead when the Kiyomizu clan massacre was several years old! But, I found signs that she's still alive!" answer Rai's shadow.

"All right! You can rest! I'll take over the investigation from here on out!" said Rai who was replied by a nod by his shadow.

Rai then extended his hand towards his shadow self. Suddenly the shadow in front of Rai, sucked into his hand.

Apparently, this is one of the techniques to remove shadows or imitations from a person.

"All right! It was time to return to the sect and... Fulfill Aaron's invitation!" muttered Rai in a lazy tone at the end of his sentence, then immediately left there by flying using a pair of dragon wings that he got from Raiden.

An hour later,

Rai landed five hundred meters from the city gate so that his arrival did not invite the attention of the people who were waiting in line to enter the city.

Then, one of the two guards, approached Rai and began to inspect the clothes Rai was wearing. Feeling nothing strange, the guard allowed Rai to enter the city after paying 20 Bronze Pearls.

Rai then walked into the city with a peaceful feeling. He walks casually and occasionally stops by some food stalls to buy snacks.

Rai felt very peaceful and started thinking about living life as an ordinary person without any interference from enemies or evil cultivators.

However, the peace that Rai felt, instantly vanished when Aaron walked up to him while calling his name.

"Tie!" shouted Aaron.

"Well... Gone is this peaceful atmosphere! And it was caused by this crazy one!" gerutu Rai's.

"Well... Huh... Rai... Come with me... To my father's mansion!" take Aaron stammering due to fatigue from running.

"All right! But, I'll use the fast way!" said Rai flat.

"C-quick way?" ask Aaron in astonishment.

"This way!" Rai suddenly took Aaron's hand and quickly ran towards the governor's mansion using the lightning element.

Rai stopped running suddenly after being in front of the mansion of Governor Abelard. Rai's sudden braking action, resulting in Aaron who was thrown forward to fall kissing the ground.

"Ouch... Rai, can you be softer a little bit! Like your treatment of women!" said Aaron.

"Then, what are you treating me for? Friends?" ask Aaron.

"No! Crazy people!" rai replied then went to the gate of the mansion.

"What?! You!!!" said Aaron.

"Easy! You want to fight with me here or you want to take me to your father's mansion?" tanya Rai gave a choice.

"Well... All right, let's go in!" take Aaron.

After that, Aaron invited Rai into the governor's mansion. Once inside, there was only a stunned look from Rai. However, that gaze instantly disappeared once Rai recalled the residential area of his clan.

'This area of the mansion is not even half the area of my family's residence! There was no swimming pool, no training ground, no herb garden and what I liked the most was... A very small storehouse! In fact, it's not up to one-third of the vast storehouse of my family's possessions!' batin Rai's.

Rai and Aaron continued walking towards the white mansion which stood majestically in the middle of the flower garden.

Arriving there, Aaron immediately opened the giant golden door that was the main door of the white mansion slowly and carefully.

When the giant white door opened, it was seen that the living room inside the mansion was very large. It was even possible that the room could be occupied by nine hundred people simultaneously.

In the middle of the living room, there was an elongated oval-shaped table and three sofas. Two of the three sofas have an elongated shape, while the remaining one has a short shape that can only be occupied by one person.

There can also be seen three people who have occupied the sofa while eating snacks and drinking tea in a cup.

Rai knows who's there. Only, Rai was lazy to see the two people who were there.

"Hi, my handsome Rai!" greet one of the women who are none other than Audi.

"Hey, Rai! Do you want to fight for Rin?" said one of the men who are none other than Adrian.

Come, please sit down and enjoy the banquet!" said one other person who was sitting on a short sofa at the end of the table. That man was none other than Abelard, the governor of the city of Lightning.

Rai just nodded and sat on one of the long sofas facing Adrian and Audi. Beside Rai, sat Aaron who had been following Rai with a smile engraved on his face.

'What the fuck is with this atmosphere?' batin Rai's.

"Sir Rai, please enjoy the banquet here!" abelard said, pointing to the food on the table.

"Thank you!" reply Rai then took one of the biscuits in front of him.

"Oh, yes! Rai boy, why are you wearing that mask?" ask Abelard.

"Oh... It—"

"You're ashamed of that ugly face of yours, aren't you? Hahaha.." Adrian said.

"Adrians! Did you forget about dad's teaching about interrupting the conversation!" abelard replied that he was angry about the behavior of his second child.

"I'm sorry, dad!" adrian said with a tone of regret.

"I'm sorry for my son's behavior, son Rai!" abelard.

"It's okay, Governor! I can understand your son's behavior!" answer Rai.

"Thank you for understanding! Oh, aye! About that mask of yours... Can it be removed?" ask Abelard.

"Sure!" rai answered and then removed his mask.

Instantly, all was silent. They are stunned by Rai's good looks that are above average. In fact, Audi blushed his face after seeing Rai's face.

"Ekhem... Son Rai, my son Audi likes you! Do you want to accept her as your lover?" ask Abelard.

"No!" answer Rai firmly.

"But... Why—" Audi's speech suddenly stopped when he did not see Rai again in front of him.

"Where's Rai?" ask Aaron.

"I'm here!" reply Rai who has put back on her face cover.

"Governor Abelard! Prepare all your troops! Adrian! Go to the Lightning Dragon sect and ask for help from them! Others, get your weapons ready! We're going to war!" Rai's orders.
