Chapter 13: Quarter Final

The round of 16 had passed by a few days. Rai, Rin and the six other participants who escaped will compete again today. They will play in the quarter-finals.

All participants are waiting for the draw in their respective waiting rooms, not least Rai. He was seen sitting relaxed while closing his eyes. Maybe people will think he's sleeping. He was communicating with Raiden through telepathy.

"Raiden, do you know anything about Rin?" ask Rai.

"Yes. After a few days of investigating the boy, I discovered some facts. Besides, he was an Ice Dragon descendant, he was also able to control the sky lightning. Although not perfect, but he often uses it to cover the power of the Ice Dragon," explained Raiden.

"But, there are still people who hunt him because of the Ice Dragon's power that resides in his body. You remember the Kiyomizu family massacre that I told you about a few years ago?" continued Raiden.

"The main cause of the massacre was Rin!" said Raiden.

"Whatchu mean? Don't tell me because of her powers, Rin was hunted down and her family killed?" said Rai.

"Really! I found some things in Rin. But, I still have to investigate deeper. Because those things are still vague!" raiden said, ending their conversation.

"Rin, you've been through something almost like me! I hope you can survive, because I can't stay with you!" muttered Rai after opening his eyes.

Shortly after, the voice of the elder Adraksh was heard, "Welcome back, everyone! Come back with me, Adraksh! I will be back in the quarter-finals today! The system is still the same, which is to use a lottery! All right, without lingering any longer, let's start the draw!" said the elder Adraksh who was immediately greeted with cheers by the audience.

The elder Adraksh then walked over to the drawing tool and put in some papers containing the names of the participants and immediately turned them around. Elder Adraksh stopped twisting, as soon as he saw that there were two papers coming out from inside the drawing tool.

"The first match, as well as the opening match this time brought together Rin against Edgar!" said elder Adraksh.

Then, those two named participants, started to enter the arena. They took out their respective weapons while maintaining their sharp gazes.

"Prepare, begin!" said elder Adraksh giving a warning.

Rin and Edgar immediately rushed forward. They immediately fought weapons as the opening match. Rin still uses a rapier sword covered in blue lightning, while Edgar uses a spear enveloped by yellow lightning.

Trangs... Trangs... Trangs...

The clinking of iron sounded loud. The boisterous sound of the audience was also heard accompanying the fight between Rin and Edgar which was fierce. No one was willing to budge and there were no signs of defeat on either side. They continued to fight until the crowd cheers sounded louder.

While Rin is still fighting, Rai is seen observing the match while thinking about something. Then, Rai flicked his finger. Suddenly, white smoke appeared and formed a human figure that resembled Rai.

"You, investigate about the Kiyomizu clan! Starting from history, power, wealth, members, until the tragedy of the massacre occurred! Investigate in detail, got it?!" rai's orders to his shadow.

"All right! Aren't you going to use shadows again to fight?" ask the shadow.

"Just calm down, I can still make 1 more shadow" said Rai casually.

"As far as you are. But, to investigate this, I must take a long time!" speak the shadow again.

"What's wrong, I'll wait. As long as you investigate, I will try to get close to Rin to investigate her more closely!" reply Rai.

"Good plan! All right, then I'll go now!" said Rai's shadow before then disappearing from the place.

"Raiden, you also investigated the power that Rin possessed and also about the Ice Dragon that was residing in her body!" Rai's orders.

"All right!" reply Raiden.

"Rin Kiyomizu's... What secret is inside you exactly?" rai Gumam.

"Time to end! Hundreds of Killer Lightning Puncture!" said Rin.

Rin then thrust his rapier sword hundreds of times to form a blue lightning light that shot straight towards his opponent. Edgar, who could no longer lift the spear, could only accept Rin's attack.

The explosion occurred after an attack launched by Rin, hit the body of Edgar until he was out of the field.

"The first match winner is Rin!" said elder Adraksh announcing the results of the match.

The match was followed by the second and third matches. Both matches lasted for an hour each, thus making Rai slightly saturated.

However, before long the elder Adraksh mentioned Rai's name as the participant who would be the last match. Rai will compete against Brigette, one of the female participants who escaped the round of 16 yesterday.

They both walked towards the arena. But, Rai did not go straight in, but rather walked casually and stopped right on the edge of the arena. Brigitte who saw that, threw a sentence of provocation that made Rai made fun of by the audience.

"Hey, why don't you come in? Are you afraid of me because of our different levels?" asked Brigitte arrogantly. It is true, Brigitte's strength is currently at the level of Mortal General Grand Master stage, only one stage different from Rai. However, that one-stage difference also had a considerable difference, which made Brigitte boldly speak arrogantly before Rai.

Rai who was fed up, could only sigh and walk out the sect while flicking his finger. Suddenly, a white smoke appeared above the arena and instantly formed Rai's body.

"If you're done, follow me! His gun! Don't let it be ruined!" said Rai to his shadow while throwing a new katana sword a few days ago he bought.

"All right! Then where are you going?" ask Rai's shadow.

"I want to go for a walk! Perhaps I found something interesting, because the audience and the arrogant woman, had made me lose my taste for fighting! And don't be so rude to him! Even though she's arrogant, she's still a woman, okay?!" said Rai who disappeared from there.

"Yes, I understand!" answer Rai's shadow.

Elder Adraksh immediately started his match. Brigitte who had been ignited by emotions, because she was underestimated by her opponent, immediately attacked Rai's shadow before her. Meanwhile, Rai's shadow only took the stance of the horses while putting his hand on the handle of the sword that was still slung on his waist.

After the distance of the attack from Brigitte was close enough, the shadow from Rai immediately flowed his natural energy so that the katana sword he was holding was fed by the purple lightning element. Then, quickly the shadow of Rai swung his sword diagonally towards Brigitte to make it out of the arena.

The shadow of Rai instantly exited the arena without waiting for elder Adraksh to announce the outcome of his battle, then disappeared just like that.

The spectators who had previously insulted Rai, immediately fell silent as soon as they saw his shadow defeating the opponent in one ordinary attack, without any moves. They all regretted insulting Rai. And there were some of them who were afraid of Rai.

In a room in the Lightning Dragon, a man carrying a dark blue sword on his waist was observing Rai from a crystal ball. He observed every match Rai played, from the preliminary round to the quarter-finals. The man was none other than the leader of the Lightning Dragon sect, Abrecan.

"Hm... Why does this Blue Lightning Sword always drag when it sees him, huh? What the hell, he's that young man?" muttered.
