The Happy Ending Love Story

The Happy Ending Love Story
The Empress Crown #24

Sofia woke up early as usual. Bathing and dressing up served has become his habit.

Five days.

He's counting on his head. It had been five days that she had not seen Jordan after she agreed to marry him. She knew that she would only be a wife on paper, but it would not be outrageous if she was ignored just like that.

The treatment of everyone in the Duke Hexalios residence did not change, but Sofia felt annoyed by herself. He could not see Jordan's face.

Sofia asked here and there. Everyone's answer was the same, Duke was very busy. These few days he had to go to the imperial palace and come home late at night.

"Hmm."

Unknowingly Sofia sighed violently.

"What are you thinking so deeply, Miss?" Very familiar servant voice, Rona. She is Sofia's loyal servant.

The hue was soon discovered by the knights of Hexalios in a corner of the market. In a state of confusion and hunger. Thanks to instructions from Ema, one of Sofia's servants as close as possible, Jordan immediately mobilized his troops. Now Rona and Ema serve Sofia, assisted by other Hexalios servants.

Sofia smiled at Rona's question.

"Can't I meet Jordan today? Ah I mean Duke?"

"Ah sorry we haven't told you Miss, the Started Duke came home late last night. Today he said he wanted to have lunch with you."

"Really?"

Rona nodded followed by a few other servants.

"Well, get me ready for lunch later."

"None right."

Some hands soon became busy, even Sofia herself was made confused by their movements. The servants in the Hexalios residence were extremely skilled. Honed by the ability of many years of serving the steady Duchess, they did not lose a single bit of her skills despite the long time the residence had lost a hostess.

Sofia's arrival was somehow warmly welcomed. All the servants of Hexalios since ten years ago only served one master, the young Duke of Hexalios, Jordan. Suddenly one day their master brought home a woman.

Be careful of course. After a few days of noticing, the originally tense atmosphere changed just like that. Sofia is like the morning sunlight that is able to melt chunks of ice.

A gloomy house with only one man served, and even then with a quantity of finger counts. The Duke spent more time outside, fighting, inspecting territory, hunting, and border patrol. It practically causes lethargy among the servants.

Only the arrival of one woman, as if a merry-go-round whose lights dimmed because there were no customers, is now spinning again with blinding lights. Just one guy.

An entity recognized by everyone in the Hexalios house, no matter what his background. If it was related to Duke, they could ignore everything.

It was Sofia. But Sofia herself did not know if many people were expecting her.

The dining room door opens. Long oval table with rowed chairs visible. Food spread on the table. If only for two people, the dish was really luxurious.

Sofia's gaze fell on Jordan's face that was incompatible with the beauty around her. I don't know why the face looks tired and sleep less.

"Duke..." Sofia's voice is shrinking.

"You've come Sofia, sit down. I just arrived too." Jordan stands up then pulls the chair to Sofia.

Sofia sat down after tidying up her slightly tangled dress.

"It's been hard to see Duke all this time."

Jordan who had just sat stiffened. The statement Sofia threw was on target. His eyes grazed with his plump eyelashes, watching him.

Aware of Jordan's intense gaze, Sofia hurriedly corrected her words.

"Duke must have been busy, sorry for my sassiness."

"Sophia.." Jordan's voice is low.

Sofia looked down, ashamed of her impulsive behavior. Aware of mistakes because of his silliness. Jordan was a Duke-ranked high nobleman, nor should he spit out disrespect. Actually why? Sofia herself was looking for an excuse for her words.

Was it because she was upset over Jordan's absence after asking him to marry her? Butwhy? Why is Sofia upset by that. His heart felt disappointed that Jordan had just disappeared without any news. But why should he be upset? On another look, he even hitched a ride in the mansion of Hexalios, the woman who was somehow protected by the duke. Even she was the emperor's woman who had fled.

If he's upset at Jordan's behavior, it's clear he's wrong. Who is he entitled to be angry over the high Duke Hexalios. Straightening up the reason why he should be angry subsided instantly. Anyway Sofia should know the place.

The position of Duchess Hexalios is not hers. It was only temporary. Until she is safe from Alex Elderbar, Sofia should be ready to relinquish that position.

But for some reason, there was a bitter taste at the end of his tongue.

Finally with all the courage she had, Sofia raised her head then displayed the brightest smile she had.

He could see Jordan's unmoved gaze on him. His heart feels throbbing. Sofia seemed to melt just by looking at him.

"I'm sorry."

Sofia jerks.

"I must have been so busy, that you rebuked me."

'Yes?'

"Duke, sorry.."

"Jordan, you called me that before."

Sofia blinked without responding.

"I've been busy lately, sorry if I didn't come to see you. You must be pissed."

As if she could read his mind, Sofia immediately cut in.

"It's not like that, but.."

"Sofia, I promise I won't do it again. It's because of that fucking Alex, I'm locked up in the palace by noon and hapless with endless paperwork and meetings." Jordan's grumbling sound hatched.

The tense atmosphere immediately melted. Sofia's stiffened body also followed.

"What's going on?" Sofia asked hesitantly.

"I succeeded." A smile immediately dyed Jordan's face.

"Yes?"

"I got two documents yesterday."

Jordan's hand signals. Then one of the servants carried a tray containing du rolls of documents.

"Congratulations Sofia, you've officially divorced Alex."

Jordan took one of the scrolls of documents and handed them to Sofia.

Sofia's hands trembled as she opened the document. He was confused as to how, confused as to what to react.

"Then, congratulations on our marriage."

Sofia's body immediately tensed up. His head bent over to read the documents of his divorce with Alex is now lifted. The gaze locked with Jordan's beautiful eyes.

"This marriage has even been endorsed by a god."

Jordan opens the scroll and shows it to Sofia. A few lines of sentences with imperial and temple stamps.

Sofia's stunned.

"This is why I can't see you for days. Can't you just apologize for bringing these two documents? Yea? I'm sorry hmm? I don't want to spend the night in the palace either. I want to see you every day, eat together, read a book or talk to you. Sofia, I'm sorry."

Sofia is more surprised by Jordan persuading her to forgive him. Shouldn't he get a thank you or a compliment for trying so hard with all this. In the depths of Sofia's heart throbbed. Realizing that Jordan is a good man, very good. He felt small to be next to her.

What the fuck.

The reverse condition was strangely coveted for him to accept.

"Jordan you've tried so hard, thank you for everything." Instead of forgiving, Sofia chose to thank him.

Jordan's lips pouted.

"So you can't forgive me."

If there were ears above Jordan's head, those two ears would have already drooped from sadness.

"Why should you apologize? I'm the one who should apologize for making you like this."

"I was wrong too."

"Duke no. I'm wrong here."

Upon Jordan's sudden movements, Sofia's eyes widened. Jordan leaned in his body, the distance between them was very thin, so he could inhale the faint scent of Jordan's body. Jordan's lips that were several inches away from her moved quickly then kissed her lips at a glance.

Sofia's eyes were perfectly rounded.

"Jordan. I told you to call me that."

Jordan's body sat down quietly. Like nothing happened. In contrast to Sofia who sat stiffly. His brain is processing what is going on.

"We got here enough, I have to attend important business. See you soon Sofia."

Jordan got up and disappeared from the dining room.

Left alone, Sofia touches her lips with a variety of whacky feelings.

'What..what is going on? What did Jordan just do? What the fuck, how dare he run away after screwing me up. Then, our conversation is not over, divorce and marriage, arrggghhh! Jordan!'s!'

Sofia's body immediately degenerated. His hands covered his face that was dyed red. His heart was pounding like it was about to explode.
