"Do you really not remember anything?"
Ivan Wilhem did not answer the family doctor's questions, and his legs, in a cross position, swung slowly. Not long after, he propped up his chin and turned his gaze to look out the window. He looked so calm that one would not expect that he had died, entered the coffin, and came out alive just by looking at it.
The family doctor stopped talking further with Ivan and approached Veronica.
“It looks like you were right about his amnesia.”
Her husband's amnesia was as shocking as what happened with the coffin earlier.
Veronica looked at her husband who was sitting on the sofa blankly. He was busy looking at his surroundings as if he had suddenly fallen on a remote island someday. It was a different attitude as opposed to the chaotic environment brought about by his resurrection from the coffin. His gaze stopped on the large mirror next to him and he burst into laughter. A behavior that is definitely not trustworthy for an adult man from his appearance.
"Other than that?"
"Based on the results of my examination, there is nothing wrong with His Majesty's body. His pulse was normal, and even his breathing was fine."
"It seems like just his weird thoughts."
"I'm sorry?"
"No. That'sthat's all. You did well."
After Veronica forced her mouth not to talk carelessly about her relationship with her husband or anything like that, she sent the family doctor back. The servants also came out, following behind the family doctor, until only Ivan and Veronica were left in the bedroom.
As the sound of footsteps outside the room was completely gone, Veronica took a step towards the sofa. Ivan slowly turned his head towards her, probably because he felt her presence.
"What kind of a drama is this again?"
Veronica was standing right in front of him. Ever since Ivan sat there, of course his gaze was facing down. Despite not checking through the mirror, Ivan was sure his gaze looked displeased.
"Amnesian? Heh. That's fun too."
The family doctor says that she has amnesia, but Veronica doesn't believe it.
Ivan Wilhem was a very thorough and meticulous man. It was a married life of no more than two years, but its nature to face the enemy head-on was the same as it was now. This stupid act he did was probably a small scheme to get something.
At least that's what Veronica thinks.
"Why are you doing something like that? Even though in this situation we've done your funeral, what am I going to say to someone else?"
"Cemetery?"
Ivan, who was silently listening to his rebuke as they poured out, showed a lively response for the first time. Veronica, who was hesitating because she cut, replied with a sigh.
"That's right. Your funeral."
"So that's the reason. I woke up in a coffin."
Ivan rubbed his face as if he had finally realized something.
"Whatchu mean? That's the reason?"
"You said what's my name?"
Ivan was feeling strange. Although he would definitely do this little scheme, he was like a man who had completely lost all of his memories. For example, even though they were standing close together like this, she did not show any disgust and such towards Veronica.
If it was the usual Ivan Wilhem, he was the man who expressed hatred for him even if it was only by the fact that he was getting closer than he needed to be with his wife.
"Ivan Wilhelm."
Since a while ago, he had only muttered words that he could not understand at all. Veronica realized something strange about the words she would say once in a while. She was determined at that moment she would ask him about the heavy feeling he felt from her.
He suddenly wrapped his hand around Veronica's wrist. Surprised by the sudden contact, he tried to retreat quickly, but it was Ivan's hand that quickly pulled his wrist faster than that.
"What, what is it?"
Veronica stuttered, shy.
"Your name?"
His tired gaze was fixed on his trembling lips. It was a passionate look, lingering as if he was a ferocious beast aiming at its prey.
Veronica intended to pull her hand from her grasp, but her strength held her back and she could not let go. With his strong physical strength, he stopped his attempt to come out, making eye contact with the man who was staring at him.
At that moment, he witnessed a tinge of red gathering in his blue eyes. It was a very clear and different color as blood was pumped through the blood vessels in the body.
Veronica who was suddenly startled blinked her eyes a few times. Then, her irises returned to a bright blue color as if they had changed at some point.
'What was that? Did I see wrong?'
While there were too many strange things happening one after another, he realized that there were too many things going on in his head. Veronica let out a light sigh, trying to reason with herself. At the same time, he felt his grip firmly holding his wrist. A groan instinctively came out from his lips.
"Aah!"
"You know, I asked you your name."
A low-pitched voice that spread powerfully struck his eardrum.
Veronica was perplexed by the man's behavior and interest in her. There was something strange, he couldn't ignore this as an act. A fierce and intense pressure enveloped her that she had never felt from him before.
That's ridiculous. Does that mean amnesia, not acting?
"Vero, Veronica Wilhelm."
With a dazed thought, her lips moved slightly. Perhaps because of her actions, telling her husband, who had lived with her for many years, her name, was a very strange act. So much so that his own name felt foreign.
Ivan wet his lips in lethargy.
"Wilhelm? The last name is the same."
He pulled his wrist which he stubbornly held since a moment ago towards him, and bit the soft flesh on his wrist violently as if biting an apple. Upon Ivan's unexpected behavior, Veronica stiffened like a rock.
"Judging by what happened, I thought you were my wife."
Something moist licked his skin which began to show obvious bite marks. The lethargic gesture reminded him of the snake's outer skin, which made his spine shiver coldly and his hair stand up. The outer skin of the snake is slippery, which makes the spine cool and the fur of the back stands.
His blood flowed coldly and his heart echoed creating a thumping sound until an unfamiliar sensation caused goosebumps. Judith quickly regained her senses and pulled the wrist she caught.
"What, what are you doing?"
His loud screaming voice became out as he hastily opened his mouth. While she was with him, she had no experience of seeing herself so excited even once in front of Ivan, but now, Veronica was already agitated not even having time to care about such things.
"Wife."
