The Happy Ending Love Story

The Happy Ending Love Story
The Empress Crown #20

Sofia dreaming.

The green grass is visible with a gentle breeze. Sofia stood looking around.

There was a tombstone made of worn-looking wood. It says Felix de Elderbar the Traitor. Sofia's heart is broken.

Felix's last unkempt resting place. By ourselves. Slender.

Sofia approaching.

Staring at the old unkempt mound, Sofia's heart sank. As his legs came back closer, everything in front of his eyes suddenly disappeared.

The mounds and shabby headstones disappeared without a trace. Replaced with a large flower garden. Sofia gasps.

"Felix."

Sofia's confused. Come here looking for Felix's resting place. How hard he searched, the result was nil. Sofia's eyes spilled.

The night is getting late. Jordan remained faithfully seated next to Sofia who was lying down with regular breathing. Three days have passed as he breaks into the dungeon and saves Sofia.

Sofia opened her eyes this morning. But he fell asleep again and hasn't woken up yet.

"Sophy." Jordan stroked Sofia's pale cheeks.

While looking at his peaceful face like nothing had ever happened, Jordan's memory drifted away at the moment he broke through Soltera's door. Finding Sofia in a miserable state. Lying on the ground like a wild beast that must be chained.

At that moment Jordan's anger rose to the top. If Alex was not an emperor, he would have already slashed his head right then and there.

His eyes were closed firmly to ease the anger within him that was ready to flare up when he recalled that.

Jordan who stormed the emperor's private dungeon had certainly spread into rumors everywhere. In a moment, the thing that will give him a headache is coming. Jordan pressed his temple slowly.

"Felix."

There was a faint sound. Jordan's blunt sense panca momentarily became sharp. In the midst of darkness, Jordan searched for the source of the voice.

"Felix."

Jordan flinched as he looked at Sofia who was muttering softly with tears rushing down.

"Sophy."

Jordan shook Sofia's body slowly. Her hand rubbed Sofia's wet cheeks. Heart's down. How can someone who is closed can cry at once. He must have had a bad dream. Jordan then tries to wake Sofia up.

"Sofia, what's going on. Awake."

This time Jordan shocks harder on Sofia's boat. His hand lifted Sofia's weak body into his arms.

"Sofia wake. It's me." It's me."

Sofia's cry did not subside, her tears were melting even more. Jordan was busy wiping away the tears that were soaking Sofia's cheeks.

His hand grabbed Sofia's shoulder then shook it slowly. Panicking the situation, Jordan calls Sofia's name several times.

"Sophy." Call Jordan soft with a slick tone.

Jordan is almost desperate when Sofia finally opens her eyes.

"Jordan?" Sofia's voice was hoarse and almost inaudible.

"It's me. Huh..." Jordan nodded slowly. It's almost like her heart exploded if Sofia doesn't open her eyes.

Sofia's view is blurred, the room is dim adding to the blur of her vision.

"You must have had a bad dream."

Jordan lifts Sofia's body easily. He arranged a pillow for Sofia's backrest. He also immediately took out a glass filled with water and then brought it closer to Sofia's lips.

Cold water immediately drained Sofia's dry throat. Tastes fresh.

"How are you feeling?" Jordan sat on the bed with her hands tightly clasped Sofia.

Sofia nodded slowly. Hinted if he was okay.

"You're Sofia's nightmare, you're crying."

Sofia nodded slowly and then smiled.

"I heard someone call me, it must be Jordan."

It was Jordan's turn to nod. Her hands tidied up Sofia's messy, wet hair.

"What did you dream of crying like that?" Jordan asked softly as she stroked Sofia's cheek.

Silent.

There was a reluctance from Sofia's lips to answer. He turned his face away. It was clearly visible under the moonlight coming through the window if Sofia refused to say so.

Jordan's forehead is wrinkled. This was the first time Jordan had seen Sofia's gloomy face. Despite her seemingly miserable life inside the palace, Sofia was always carefree. Her face was beaming with her warm smile.

Jordan realizes that Sofia doesn't want to tell him. Jordan couldn't have forced him. So Jordan chose to shut up and switch the conversation.

"Is there anything you want?"

Sofia. Staring straight at Jordan's eyes then shook his head.

"I must've taken Jordan a lot of time. Jordan is a busy man."

"No. I have plenty of free time."

"Jordan thank you."

"For?"

"Everything. Jordan saved me and also my two servants, Ema and Rona."

Sofia hears from the waiter who takes care of her if Ema and Rona survive. The knight Duke Hexalios had saved them. Sofia thanked him on their behalf.

"It's my job, Sofia."

"Because I'm a friend of Jordan's?"

Jordan nodded awkwardly.

Instead, Sofia replied to him with her usual smile. Well-favoured. Even under the darkness of the night with minimal light.

Jordan's heart rippled. There was no other beautiful smile than the one he had just seen. Those sculptural red lips shook Jordan's mind. Although he had seen it many times, but the sensation remained the same. Thrilling.

Jordan helps Sofia back to lie down. She pulls the blanket to cover Sofia's body.

"The beautiful dream of Sofia. Don't worry, I'm beside you. If you need something, you can call the waiter. They're waiting at the door."

Sofia nodded.

"I have to get back to the office. There's a lot of work I have to finish."

Jordan stroked Sofia's head and then got up. As he was about to turn around, a hand pulled him. Withstand step. Jordan looked. It was Sofia's skinny hand.

"Jordan, we're friends, right?"

Sontan Jordan nodded.

"If I told you that dream, would Jordan believe it?" Sofia's voice was shaking.

Jordan sat back on the edge of the bed.

"of course. Friends must trust each other."

Repeatedly hearing and saying the word 'friend' himself pinched Jordan's heart.

"I see the future in that dream."

Jordan's face hardened with Sofia's confession which was quite surprising. Unknowingly Jordan's forehead wrinkled and she could see Sofia biting her lower lip. It can bleed if left unchecked. So Jordan opened his mouth from his surprise.

"The future?"

"Yes the future. Jordan definitely doesn't believe me."

"I believe Sofia. Please tell me Sofia's dream, I'll listen to it."

Sofia hesitated for a moment before she finally opened her mouth.

"I first had that dream when I arrived at the palace, after the wedding ceremony with His Majesty."

Sofia's lips twitched to Alex. His Majesty the Emperor Elderbar.

"..."

"The dream was very long. At first I thought it was just an ordinary dream, but the events of the dream continued to be real. I finally believe and fear."

"A dream not good?"

Sofia nodded then continued.

"In that dream I was exiled and despised. His Majesty never came or even noticed me. I found out when no one came to take care of us."

Sofia almost cried. But Jordan strengthened her by patting her hand slowly.

"I saw everything. From my life to death."

"Is everything happening exactly the same?"

"Some, because once I realized that the dream was my future, I tried to change it. But there are things that don't. How hard I tried, it kept happening."

"Even our meeting on the market that time? Is Sofia trying to find him too? Because Sofia is so hard on rejecting our friendship."

Sofia shakes.

"No." Answer's short.

Jordan gasps.

"Jordan wasn't in that dream."

Jordan quiet.

"Maybe I'm trying to change the future that's why I met Jordan."

"Oh so."

For some reason, Sofia's answer made Jordan's heart sink. The fact that he was not in the dream disappointed him. That means in the dream there is only Sofia and Alex.

The atmosphere became quiet again. Jordan's mind became tangled. Face hardened. Suddenly a memory flashed through his mind.

"Felix." Jordan hesitated. "You mentioned Felix a few times, who was Felix?"

Sofia's eyes are round. He must have unwittingly mentioned Felix's name when he had a dream.

Although it was slow, Jordan clearly heard it. Sofia called Felix's name several times.

"Felix de Elderbar." Sofia doesn't want to cover it up. He had already decided to share that dream with Jordan. So nothing should be covered.

"Yes? de Elderbar's? That means..."

"Yes, my son with His Majesty the Emperor."

Jordan's heart collapsed instantly. His body was shocked to hear it. Even though the sky was collapsing, Jordan did not care. But Sofia's statement just left her in a great shock.

"Kids?"

Sofia nodded. He breathed a heavy sigh.

"I tried hard to avoid it. I don't want the child to be born." Sofia's tears finally spilled.

Jordan froze in place. Imagining Sofia ignoring it is quite frustrating let alone seeing it with other men. Something exploded inside Jordan. The cold night instantly became hot. Blood boils.

"So Sofia tried to escape that night and ended up in Soltera?"

"Yes." Yeah." Sofia's voice was muffled by her sobs. His shoulders were shaking violently.

Jordan immediately grabbed Sofia's body, lifted her up then hugged her.

Jordan's hand stroked Sofia's shoulder slowly. An unpleasant anger disappeared in an instant. Jordan is weak with Sofia's tears.

"That's a very bad dream. I don't want that to happen."

Sofia was crying like a child who lost her candy.

Jordan kept patting her back then stroking her hair. Trying hard to calm Sofia who was immersed in her arms. Crying like tears never ends.
