"You're gone, why are you back now?" Theia cried with her hand hitting Ares' chest. Forgetting all his manners and fears. She's upset. Real angry.
Of course Theia's punch won't hurt the strong Ares. The punch was as light as a feather. Ares even seemed tickled as The several times hit his chest with both hands.
"You didn't even turn your head when I called your name. You act like you no longer know me. Left me!" Theia's crying exploded again.
"You're evil! Why just come back now? After giving trouble to me all this time! Why?"
Ares receives a shout, a snatch until Theia blows. He really deserved it. This is his punishment. Punishment for leaving Theia without a word. He's misstep. The decision he took to return to the Capital turned out to hurt Theia. If he knew it would be like this, he would have brought Theia along with him. But Ares has no regrets. If Theia goes with him Ares is afraid he'll get hurt more. It might also be dragged down by the chaos in the Capital it created.
The servants, some knights and doctors were still lined up neatly in front of the door. They could hear a loud noise from inside. The screams and cries of Theia were not the voice of Ares. Some of the servants looked at each other. Like understanding each other's intentions. But they remained silent. They were afraid of the butler leading them in front of the line.
"Why silence? Answer me!" Flinch Theia once again. His hand banged on Ares' chest strongly. Like not a chest but a door.
Instead of opening his mouth to answer Ares chose to wipe Theia's tears with both hands.
"That's enough. Don't cry anymore. You could've dehydrated Theia. Watch content. Remember the baby in your stomach." Ares did not answer Theia's question.
Theia gasps. He forgot about this fact. In response to this statement, Theia then held onto her stomach. With his head down he stroked his slightly round stomach.
"He's mine, isn't he?"
Theia looked up at Ares. His eyes were reproaching.
"This child is in your stomach. He's my son, isn't he?" Ares has confirmed. His hand touched Theia's hand which was on her map.
Theia flinched then gave a sharp look at Ares.
Ares laughed out loud. Seeing the hostility in Theia's eyes aroused her anxiety. His voice was so loud that it sounded from outside. This time those outside looked at each other again.
Theia's eyebrows are linked. Seeing Ares laughing left him confused.
"He's really my son, isn't he Theia? I've never heard of you with another man. If you're pregnant it's definitely mine." Ares' words confused Theia.
"You following me?"
Ares nodded slowly. He gave a thin smile.
"Why did you burn down my house?" Ask Theia.
"That's not me. Someone else did it."
Theia's head tilted then added. "I obviously heard them say 'this is on Duke's orders' it's clear you aren't you?"
"Theia, a high-ranking noble isn't just me in Bylona. There's someone with the title of Duke who did it."
Theia pondered Theia's answer. He doesn't know what's really going on. So all this time he's been misunderstanding. But that does not mean Ares is not wrong at all.
"I'll tell them one by one. But before that I want to hear your story about this." Ares again stroked Theia's round belly. "When did you know about this Theia? The doctor said it's probably been almost four months." Ares.
Silent. Theia silence. Confused to answer how. There's no way he's lying. He has to say everything honestly.
"The day you left me."
Ares's eyes widened. "Why didn't you say it?"
Theia. "You didn't even turn your head when I called you." The memories of that day returned.
Ares quiet. Back then the focus was to return to the Capital and give lessons to the people who had harmed it. After all he had left the Rolex and Thunder knights of trust to take care of Theia. Yes he remembered Theia's screaming voice. But if Ares listened to Theia's call at that time he would not be willing to leave her to return to the Capital.
"I'm sorry." Ares.
Theia shakes. "I understand what you're doing. I can accept everything, even if it takes time."
"So you forgive me?"
Theia nodded.
"Aren't you angry with me anymore?"
Theia nodded again.
Ares smiled with satisfaction. Imagining the difficult path he has to face now looks easy Ares is happy.
"I have no right to that. You must think I'm a fraud. The one who took advantage of your plight is Your Majesty."
Ares' heart that had soared is now dropped by Theia. His softened attitude earlier now hardened again. Theia also called out to him respectfully. The difficult road again unfolded before the eyes of Ares.
"It's true that I was pregnant. But this is my husband's son, Your Majesty. Her name is Arei." Theia who was aware that she was sitting on Ares' lap tried to get up but Ares immediately prevented it. His hand was held tightly by Ares.
"I'm Arei."
"No. You are Duke Ares Osbern."
"I'm the same person Theia." Ares firmly furrowed his brows.
Theia shakes. "You're not Arei anymore when you leave me." Said Theia firmly. "So please let go of the servant. If you won't kill me can I leave here immediately Your Majesty? Before that I thanked you for helping me." At the end of her speech Theia's voice shook. I don't know why he's reluctant to forgive Ares.
Ares who had abandoned him and suddenly returned was unforgivable.
"No. I'm not letting you go, Theia. Where are you going with your situation like this? You have a husband and you are pregnant. Think about it."
"Yes that was. Not anymore."
"What do you mean?" Ares' voice is rising.
"I'm not your wife."
"They! Watch your words."
"If you're my husband why did you leave without saying anything? If you consider me a wife shouldn't all the things I know and you care about me. But you didn't. Wouldn't your decision to leave me be considered that I'm not your wife anymore?"
"It's not like that."
"Ah, we are not legally married anyway. No one has witnessed or officiated our marriage. That's why you just left me, Your Majesty?" Although angry Theia did not forget her manners.
"Enough Theia! Don't you ever provoke me!"
A dark aura emanated from Ares. The gripping aura. Aura kill. Theia's back was cold and she shuddered in horror. Ares' eyes turned red and looked at him sharply. The cold immediately spread throughout the room. Theia's body trembled and she tried to escape Ares' grip but she failed.
"Take me off!" Theia.
"Silence or someone's life will be lost here. Now too!"
It was clearly a murder threat. Theia could feel a strong pressure from Ares. Theia's afraid. His fear increased when he saw the eyes of Ares' eagle.
Theia struggled and her tears spilled back. She's afraid. Imagining Ares' words made him fall into the same pit of fear as three months ago.
Seeing Theia's eyes back wet Ares softened. He realized what he had just done was frightening Theia. Ares immediately pulled Theia's body closer then hugged her.
"let go. Unhand me!" Theia squealed while crying.
"I'm guilty of Theia. Ii'm sorry. I'm sorry." Ares was all his might to calm Theia who came back crying in her arms.
