Ch.40 Old Companions

Grandfather Myrthe advanced and drew his distance closer to Dethyus, when the two were already no more than a step away Grandpa Myrthe swung his sword.

A white light was seen floating as Grandfather's sword hit the Wolf's body that Dethyus was riding on.

"You haven't changed yet, your speed and strength are still the same as before, but it's still not enough to defeat me." Dethyus smiled sinisterly as he leaped back, dodging Grandfather's attack.

Grandfather Myrthe laughed softly, "We don't know what will happen in the future, because no one knows whether we have fought as hard as we can or not" Grandpa Myrthe said as he stepped up, shorten their distance.

Dethyus, hearing this raise his eyebrows, still did not understand the meaning of Grandfather's words, but he did not think about it any further, and chose to welcome the attack that came from Grandfather.

A moment later, the two swung at each other and slashed their swords in turn. Every time their swords came into contact, a powerful air wave was created and spread out in all directions.

These airwaves of course attracted the attention of the troops and Guards who were fighting near them, quickly the troops and guards went to give a greater distance for fear of being affected by the attack of the two people.

"You see? This power I gained while surviving against the ferociousness of the world, just when you're not here!" Dethyus said as he swung his greatsword with all his might.

Quickly Grandpa Myrthe held back the attack with his sword, in contrast to his usual sword technique, Grandpa Myrthe held back the attack using a sharp piece of his sword instead of tilting it horizontally.

"Not bad, but still not enough!" Dethyus again swung his sword with all his might, in a short time the situation seemed to turn more in favor of Dethyus.

Meanwhile, Grandpa Myrthe was seen only smiling faintly in response to the man's remark.

Although it looks cornered, but it's just his wits to face his old friend.

"Dethyus, if you can come back, will you come back with us? I know you're doing this by force, so will you come back to us?" Grandfather Myrthe smiled warmly while enduring every attack of the man.

Dethyus ignored Grandfather's words and continued to smash his greatsword toward Grandfather.

After enduring over 40 attacks, Grandpa Myrthe fell into a kneeling position. Seeing this quickly Dethyus swung the final attack to finish off the grandfather.

"See you, old friend, say hello to our other friend!" Dethyus exclaimed loudly before swinging his sword with all his might.

The Aura explosion occurred when the sword Dethyus managed to pound the sword belonging to Grandfather.

The dust quickly covered the sight of everyone who was there, no one knew what had happened within it, because just after the explosion of the Aura, the atmosphere suddenly became silent and all the fighting was stopped for a moment.

However, despair is seen haunting the City Guards.

They realized, if the last attack was the defeat of the old Grandfather who helped them, then their hope of winning in this battle also disappeared.

Hopefully, they continued to stare at the soaring dust lumps.

Leo still continued to stare at the place mentioned by the City Guards earlier, after seeing firsthand he realized it was impossible for ordinary people to go there.

This is because the place is an old factory-like building surrounded by the ruins of old buildings that have been weathered, there are even some unkempt bodies buried under the rubble there.

While watching his steps Leo moved closer to the old building that was still standing firmly in the middle of the ruins.

But, without thinking about this further Leo accelerated his pace. While moving through the weathered ruins, Leo continued to comb around.

There are several bodies of rotting children buried under the rubble.

Unable to bear the sight, he sped up his pace and entered the old building.

In it Leo immediately turned on the lanterns around him, the color of the building had begun to disappear in time, not even fresh air free from the scent of dust.

"Who can live here?" Leo no longer knew what suffering the children had here.

He knew that the possibility of living in such a dangerous area was only beggars or at least homeless people who had run out of shelter from the cruelty of the outside world.

After looking through the contents of the building, Leo was greeted with a crying voice that echoed throughout the room in the building.

The voice sounded very heart-piercing and even gave a dizzy feeling when it sounded in Leo's ears.

Not long after the sound of crying spread, the sound of footsteps could be heard creeping from the wooden floor around the factory.

At first only one footstep was heard, but not for a long time, the sound heard in Leo's ears grew to dozens of steps, or even more.

Hearing this strange thing, Leo approached the source of the voice. After walking quite a distance inside, another voice came back.

After trying to better hear the voice, something from the darkness immediately lunged at Leo.
